This happened on May 13, 1981. Pope John Paul II was shot as he arrived in St. Peter’s Square to speak to the people who had gathered there. When he was shot, he was holding the rosary, which he always carried. When he fell to the ground, out of nowhere, a woman rushed to his side and embraced him. That pic is shown above. The picture is said to have been taken by one of the gathered people who was busy taking Pope’s pics with his camera. The woman vanished as quickly as she appeared.
The gunman was apprehended in the square and sentenced to life in prison. The pope was critically wounded but survived after surgery and a long recovery. The surprising fact is that all the bullets passed just past his vital internal organs. When he recovered finally, the first thing Pope asked for was his rosary. When he got it in his hands, he said that he felt Mother Mary directing the bullets’ path through him. Sure, John Paul II was always in the habit of praying the rosary regularly. He had once said “The best prayer I like is the Rosary”.
Joaquin Navarro Valls, who is the one spokesman from The Vatican, said that they made a lot of studies for years of this incredible picture and of course about the quality of the developing of the picture because when it was developed nobody could see very well because the image was not clear. Finally, and after so many controls and being looking and checking by all the experts in photography (around the world), they decided that there were no tricks in it and today they give us this beautiful gift from our Mother of God. You can see the Mother of God holding John Paul II in her arms. Beautiful right?
I dont know whether You will believe me or not. But many do. And among those who believed, Bishop Thomas Wenski recreated the picture on a glass window at his Florida residence. You can see that below…
Let this remind us of the awesome power of the intercession of Mother Mary and lead us to take a strong decision to pray the rosary regularly.

The stain-glass window is a different picture it is Our Lady of Czestochowa.
Also I would be careful with talking about the first picture, we (Catholics) do not need special assurance that God loves the Pope, and since you have no authority to declare this picture a real photography you might think of quoting some documents of the Church that state the authenticity of this picture as photography.

I believe such picture without any confusion, but let me outline some of the non Catholic believers suggestions; i) Why this picture has not published on the same spot of incident.
ii) Who was taken the picture that time.
iii) Can you publish this Popes picture through News papers, TVs and all Media in the world so that, those who are in doubt must accept and believe to the full story of the mysterious. Hence, I wish to give those who have been dealt a very best in their career and May God Father, God the Son and the Holy Spirit be with you always.
You should not worship Mary. She is NOT God. Sure she was blessed to carry the Son of God but I repeat she is NOT God. Also, the fact that the Son of God, Jesus, said to not call any man “Father” on this earth and yet you do the exact thing that the Son of God told you not to do by calling some man a POPE. The word “POPE” means “Father”. So you decide to worship Mary and worship a man you call Father and deny the true God by doing so.
Nice picture, but the story behind it is untrue. The aide mentioned as taking the picture and verifying it was contacted and he said that it was NOT true. While it is a nice thought, I would prefer to have the arms of God wrapped around me, not one of his creations!

It ia an awesome portrait and very true. It is very sad there are so many unbelievers. Catholics do not worship Mary we have devotion to her. She is the mother of Jesus who is God. Remember Jesus said not to weep for him but for your children and yourselves. Nobody gets to heaven unless they go through the mother. And only those who believe in the Blessed Trinity. The Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

You are making a very erroneous assumption if you think that everything that is true about the Christian faith is contained in the bible.
The Christian faith is an Apostolic Faith. This means that it is passed on from Bishop to Bishop down through the centuries and originated with Jesus. And this very notion is in the bible:
2Thes. 2:15″So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter.”
Do you think the bible fell from Heaven on Good Friday? In fact the entire bible is tradition that finally made it to paper one day and declared canonical by these true apostolic bishops. So if you believe that the bible is from God then you need to obey the authority of the Catholic Church that declared these 27 new testament books to be so.

I don’t like to discourage anyone and indeed we know that Mary and Jesus were assuradely with the Holy Father when he was shot! My concern is that if this is a favrication or exaggeration, some harm is done to truth itself and truth is our message always. We have no need of imagined or exaggerated images or tales to know that the faith holds and treasurers TRUTH above all because as Jesus saide: “I am the way, the truth and the life!
Thus you can understand, I would not proliferate this email unless it has some serious strong affirmations from the vatican and I for one have never seen or heard of any.

The Word of God is THE only standard for living out faith based on what JESUS said Himself and that is that HE is the only WAY, THE truth and THE Life and no man can come to THE Father except through HIM. Now, that tells me that I cannot get to heaven unless #1 I go through Jesus (Not Mary), #2 I have to know what my faith is about in order to walk it out and He supplied that for me by divinely inspiring and preserving His book for those who believe unto salvation. Based on the BIBLE I must line everything up to His Word for what is truth and not what some Bishop or Pope or whomever wants to tell me I need to do. If it’s going against what the Bible tells me than the Bible isn’t wrong, they are.

You may like this painting of a lousy photoshop job as far as I’m concerned, but the story that is being dished up is, of course, complete drivel. There is TV-footage of the attack and the wounded pope, no Mary in sight, there were hundreds of people present – apparently apart from the unidentified photographer no-one ever saw an apparition of any saint -just policemen and security guards, who for one thing don’t look like St. mary as she is usually depicted. The Pope even went the length of thanking St. Mary of Fatima (why not Mary of Lourdes or Czestochowa or any other Mary remains unclear) instead of the hard working highly skilled doctors who really saved his life.
Can’t the other Christians stay out of the way of what us Catholics believe. No one ever said we worship the Virgin Mary, yet you all assume that you do. We Catholics are the last ones that want to hear your preaching.

Beautiful story, but according the the TV footage video of the incident, Pope John Paul II fell back in the jeep he was in, not to the ground, no mentioned of any woman rushing out of nowhere was mentioned. If this was the case everyone in the world would have heard of it. This would be on National TV for years to come.

The acceptence of Mother Mary as the mother of God is only when Jesus was on earth in Human form.
It was the mother who brought him up in the holy way,walked in all alks of his life even unto his death. After ressurection also mother Mary was present during the pentecost which is the ultimate expression in the bible of the Holy Trinity to accept Mother Mary as the Holy mother like other saints.When jesus was on earth he accepted His mothers request to help the marriage party from embarrasment even though His time had not come to do the miracles and Gods work.

This is one misconceptions of non-Catholics. The Pope is the leader of the Church and is the successor of St Peter, the first Pope.
Jesus founded His Church by declaring St Pope as the ROCK where Jesus said HE would build His Church.
Please read your Bible thorougly. Read the full version (Catholic version of 73 books) not the Protestant version where there are only 66 books. Protestants are PICK and Choose. No wonder there are thousands of Protestant denominations around having their own interpretations of the Bible.

Catholics worship only one God (in three persons as the TRinity-God the Father, God the son, Jesus and God the Holy spirit))and Catholics NEVER worship Mary. She is however highly respected (Blessed), venerated & can act as intercessor.
She is the ARK of the Covenant because she carried JESUS in her womb. From Genesis to the book of Revelation, Mary has been part of the Salvation history.
God talks about a said after Adam & Eve had committed sin, I will put EMNITY between you and a woman. The same is true in the book of revelation, a woman clothed with Sun about to give birth to a child that a dragon wanted to devour….

To answer this question one has to go back to the Gospel of Luke and examine what was Mary’s response when Angel Gabriel announced to her about the birth of Jesus. She was puzzled at this news. She was amazed, she was afraid and could not believe this news. The punishment she had to face for having a child without a husband was, as per Moses’s law, death by stoning. what a disaster? How she would have faced her righteous parents and her society? But still she opted to listen to the word of God and said YES to it. She said “I am the handmaid of God and let it be done unto me as you said. What does this mean? She listened to the Word of God and gave herself fully to the will of God. Jesus said, one who listens to the word of God and do it, is his mother and brother? Here Jesus confirmed that his relationship with His mother was something above the usual human mother-son relationship. Remember her Praise song, Magnificat which she prayed at the house of Elizabeth in the Gospel of Luke. She said, hereinafter generations and generations will proclaim me as blessed.
According to Luke, Elezabeth’s statement “who am I for the Mother of my Saviour to come to me” confirmed that Mary is the Mother of God. When everyone doubted and abandoned Jesus, it was Mary, the blessed mother who stood courageously at the foot of the cross. With all his agonies, Jesus, who was going through His last minutes in this world, did not forget to talk to her and entrust her to his faithful disciple, John. May was in the upper room to prepare the disciples of Jesus in prayer to receive the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. Looking at all these events as mentioned in the Gospels, no one can deny that Mary’s role is not important in our journey with the Lord. She is the only person who was physically connected with the Son of God for almost 9 months. So how can any Christian deny her? She is the one who paved the way for the 1st miracle of Jesus at the wedding of Cana. She believe in Her son and told the workers to do whatever He tells them. She was the intercessor before her son at the most difficult time of that family at the Cana wedding house to save them from shame. I’m Catholic and I love the Virgin Mary. But I don’t think this picture is real (I mean, seriously guys) and it’s quite repulsive to spread this as a miracle or whatsoever. Of course faith is important but blind faith is something else. Surely the blessed Mary, or the saintly pope, would not in any way be happy that we’re worshiping something completely fake (not to mention something being profited by some businessmen out there producing pictures and asking you to buy it). We don’t need a picture to see miracles. Just open your eyes and the REAL beauty of God’s creations are surrounding us (people we love, our community, nature). We don’t need this picture. In fact, it’s just sick to fall for something like this.

You must go through the Son in order to get to the Father. This means ONLY pray to God through Jesus.
Do not worship false idols (one of God’s Commandments stricken from the catholic bible). There is a red flag for ya! You have to search for a “special” bible if you want to read a Catholic bible. Baptism, whether it be catholic or protestant, gives us the passport to the Body of Christ – the Church.It does not guarantee us eternal life. If you hear a preacher telling you that it does, LEAVE. That preacher is a wolf among the sheep – or a ‘pedler of God’s word’, as St Paul called them.
Even after baptism, it does not mean that we are automatically ‘born again’. If after baptism, you feel nothing has changed inside you, you are not ‘born again’
You see, the Holy Spirit will not enter a temple – which is us – that is dirty, impure, sinful. The Holy Spirit is Pure,Sinless and HOLY-hence the title.
How can you expect the Holy Spirit to enter your heart if it is still dirty and sinful ?
How do you become ‘born again’ ?
Make Jesus your best ever friend, closer than your husband/wife, closer than your parents/ or brothers and sisters.
Get on your knees, confess all your sins to God/Jesus, while fasting.
Ask for God’s forgiveness.
Learn the ‘sinner’s prayer’ and pray that all thoughout your working days – its one sentence.
The Lord will not tire of hearing it, but will be beside you.
Fast until you feel the joy of the Lord’s presence in your heart – it could be 2 or 3 days, or months even. Don’t give up.
When you feel the joy of the Lord’s presence in your heart, you will want to go in to the streets and tell the world of your new Friend.
Then you are ‘born again’
Remember, demons will be right beside you to drag you back to your old ways.
This is where praying the Rosary everyday is advisable.
If you pray the Rosary often, our Holy Mother will ‘step on the head of the serpent’ if they get near you. Demons are scared of the Rosary.
Take no notice of those who do not know its power – protestant scoffers. Satan uses them to discourage you.
Finally, remember to pray from the heart – not parrot-fashion.
Learn to ‘pray without ceasing’
This means, be aware of Jesus’s presence right beside you 24-hours a day.
Talk to Him as you would to your closest friend
never forgetting that He is Holy.
