Why should we pray to Virgin Mary? The reasons are many.
Why do Catholics pray to Mother Mary? Is Rosary really powerful?
The intercession of Mother Mary is very powerful as Jesus cannot neglect His mothers commands.This can be proved by the first miracle Jesus did at the wedding at Cana. – (John 2:1-11). Mother Mary told Jesus “They have no more wine.” And what was the final result? He turned water into wine.
In “The Poem of the Man-God” by Maria Valtorta, she says that Jesus told her about this incident as “I did it for Mary”. This proves that the intercession of Mother Mary is very very strong.
Mother Mary was blessed with Holy Spirit abundantly. We can see this as we read “At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.” (Luke 1:39-41) ; just by Virgin Mary’s greeting.
Listen to the talk from Apologetics on Mary, Purgatory and The Bible
What the angels thought on this matter:-
When angel appeared before Zechariah,father of John, angel just greets him by his name ,nothing more although he was “upright in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commandments and regulations blamelessly.” – (Luke 1:6)
When angel appeared before Joseph, the greeting was like this: “an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.” – (Matthew 1:20). Angel greeted him ‘son of david’, thats all.
Now let us see how did the angel greet Virgin Mary. It goes like this: “The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” (Luke 1:28). See the difference….

Dear Liam, as Jenifer said, show me one single verse saying we need mediators other than Jesus.
show me one verse saying Mary is sinless.
show me one verse showing Paul,Peter,John prayed to mary…
Please don’t type thousand lines… just come to the point.
Even if 3 billion believe in one lie that doesn’t become a truth..
Open the bible and follow the savior not sinners.
God bless you
Hello Patricia,(#751)
Jennifer’s talking based on Bible not RCC manual. Read the bible first then come here.
God bless you.
you guys still don’t understand the whole context of the Bible. How was those various books of the Bible written. Who wrote Genesis, no human lived before God’s creation work. It was the tradition by which generation by generation people brought down these memories. Then by the Holy Spirit these traditions took Scriptural form. This goes for all the books of the Bible.
The Gospel of St. Mark was not written by some one in Jesus’s time, it is found that he was a disciple of St. Paul. and the Gospel of St. John concludes with the conformation that all that our Lord did was not written the book, He did so many things that the heavens and the earth will not be enough to write those things, and these things are what we call Holy Traditions . Holy Traditions play a major role in the formation of the Bile. You people will never understand these things coze the satan has control over your brains, But we Catholics how much ever you offend us and our Beloved Mother we are always praying for you all.
God bless and please pray with open hearts to receive Gods grace.
You need to get a history book not written by a RC. The Reformation wasn’t a movement but several movements and there were such movements before and after Luther.
If you claim that Luther was a RC and still is then you are disagreeing with the Pope.
The RC never was the whole church, indeed the Orthodox will show you that the RCC is a schism and not the true church.
Despite the wholesale murder of Christians the RCC lost control of the people and they were then able to discover for themselves the corruption, wickedness and dishonesty in the RCC.
The idea that the RCC gave the world the bible is a delusional idea that only an indoctrinated RC could believe.
But instead of honouring God, who inspired the scriptures, you choose to honour the men that God used to compile them? How odd.
You claim that Mary is both the Mother and the Spouse of God which is clearly wrong and such a relationship is abusrd. Mary neither mothered God in the traditional sense since God did not grow in her but the Man Christ Jesus did.
As for being the Spouse of God, if being the Mother of Jesus makes her the Spouse of God then you have made Joseph an adulterer who slept with another’s wife while the other was still alive. Indeed it makes Mary an adulteress because she was espoused to Joseph when she was got pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
The more RC doctrine one admits the more confused you see that the RCC is. If the Pope has all the power and authority of Peter and nothing else then he has nothing much at all. Peter was not head of the church at Jerusalem (James was) nor anywhere else and was rebuked by Paul for hypocrisy.
Jesus came to destroy sin therefore it is illogical to believe that he would allow himself to be conceived and born in a person of sin.After all it was the Holy Ghost who spiritually impregnated Mary and as a result God the Word became man.
Sorry to say but the truth is the truth and it can hurt…It would appear that persons of your mentality known as ‘bible thumpers’are so intoxicated by contents of ‘the Bible’- a so called bible, far removed from the authentic one, that you make a mockery of Christianity.

The Immaculate Mother of God.
~
In Genesis the ‘seed’ of the ‘woman’ is Jesus.
Mary is the ‘woman’.
In Isaiah(7:14)refers to ‘The Virgin- Mother of Immanuel'(God with us).
Also ‘Immanuel’ is referred to as the future
Saviour of His people (Is 8:8-9)
Micah(5:2-3)foretells the birth of Our Saviour
In Bethlehem.
~
(Note the connection of the term ‘woman’ in Genesis and its use by Jesus when he assigned his Mother,Mary,to be the mother of all mankind prior to his death.)
Only egoism or religious deformation denies the truth about our Mystical Rose. Attacks upon or denial of the important role of Mary in our salvation as willed by God and contained in the full Bible and secret tradition is the way to Hell.
Hi Patricia,
If you can read my comment clearly there is a substance and a question to you people. Please answer it first then you can speak about us. If you are not able to answer then accept the truth.
The Spirit leads us beyond…!
The truth is that all sincere believers are led to a deeper knowledge and love of Christ by the Holy Spirit (cf Eph 3:16-19).And if we do not limit our knowledge to the contents of scripture alone we will grow in depth.We will see that Mary is at the very centre of God’s plan because she was full of grace therefore sinless.That plan is to make us children of God and co-heirs of Christ by the Spirit given to us (cf Gal 4:4-6).Devotion then that is true to revelation,leads us to share the love and honour given by God’s Son to his Mother whom he has given to us as our spiritual Mother.
Mr. Jibson
First and foremost this is a ROMAN CATHOLIC site and YOU should not be here in the first place.
Who the hell are you to tell me that what I say is like a RCC manual.
Your Protestant bibles stem from the Roman Catholic Bible and you guys have taken what you’ll felt like to suit your own thinking.
Whole bunch of SATAN’S ADVOCATES you all are.
Pls dont say God Bless……….defaming the Mother of God and then trying to bless………..like two headed serpents.
For all my Roman Catholic friends and Christians who respect Our Blessed Mother………
What man needs, what he must have, is what God sends him. Man cannot receive a greater need than what God decides when He fills that need. Man today needs a mother. The world needs a mother. God is filling that need with His best. His Mother is completeness in filling what the human heart yearns for. To be in the arms of She, Who held Him, the Christ. You are to be in Her arms. God desires this. Our Lady desires this. The whole world is placed in Her maternal care. You can come and be in the presence of She, your Mother, your Queen, Who will soothe all your concerns, meet all your needs, and fill your heart with a peace you’ve never known before. Tell all. Speak to everyone. Our Lady comes to three nations to meet you individually to kiss your heart and satisfy it’s longing. Come and give your heart away.
Now all this discussion is for our good, nothing negative, but to understand and learn from our experiences. But do not say that the Catholic Bible is wrong, since you tend to become a Hypocrite, because all Bibles are derived/plagiarized/manipulated from the original/first Bible that was from the Catholic Church. So do not quote to the master itself, being a lost child yourself – all these denominations that we talk about.
Now, Catholics devotion to Mother Mary is often forgotten by Catholics themselves, and therefore it is not surprising that those who are not Catholic often have a completely wrong conception of Catholic devotion to the Mother of God. They imagine, and sometimes we can understand their reasons for doing so, that Catholics treat the Blessed Virgin as an almost divine being in her own right, as if she had some glory, some power, some majesty of her own that placed her on a level with Christ Himself. They regard the Assumption of Mary into heaven as a kind of apotheosis placed in the Redemption would seem to be equal to that of her Son. *** But this is all completely contrary to the true mind of the Catholic Church.*** It forgets that Mary’s chief glory is in her nothingness, in the fact of being the “Handmaid of the Lord,” as one who in becoming the Mother of God acted simply in loving submission to His command, in the pure obedience of faith. She is blessed not because of some mythical pseudo-divine prerogative, but in all her human and womanly limitations as one who has believed. It is the faith and the fidelity of this humble handmaid, “full of grace” that enables her to be the perfect instrument of God, and nothing else but His instrument. The work that was done in her purely the work of God. “He that is mighty hath done great things in me.” The glory of Mary is purely and simply the glory of God in her. and she, like anyone else, can say that she has nothing that she has not received from Him through Christ.
As a matter of fact, this is precisely her greatest glory: that having nothing of her own, retaining nothing of a “self” that could glory in any- thing for her own sake, she placed no obstacle to the mercy of God and in no way resisted His love and His will. Hence she received more from Him than any other saint. he was able to accomplish His will perfectly in her, and His liberty was in no way hindered or turned from its purpose by the presence of an egotistical self in Mary. She was and is in the highest sense a person precisely because, being “immaculate,” she was free from every taint of selfishness that might obscure God’s light in her being. She was then a freedom that obeyed Him perfectly and in this obedience found the fulfill- ment of perfect love.
The genuine significance of Catholic devotion to Mary is to be seen in the light of the Incarnation itself. The Church cannot separate the Son and the Mother. Because the Church conceived of the Incarnation as God’s descent into flesh and into time, and His great gift of Himself to His creatures, she also believes that the one who was closest to Him in this great mystery was the one who participated most perfectly in the gift. When a room is heated by an open flame, surely there is nothing strange in the fact that those who stand closest to the fireplace are the ones who are warmest. And when God comes into the world through the instrumentality of one of His servants, then there is nothing surprising about the fact that His chosen instrument should have the greatest and most intimate share in the divine gift.
Mary, who was empty of all egotism, free from all sin, was as pure as the glass of a very clean window that has no other function than to admit the light of the sun (Son). If we rejoice in that light, we implicitly praise the cleanness of the window. And of course it might be argued that in such a case we might well forget the window altogether. This is true. And yet the Son of God, in emptying Himself of His majestic power, having become a child, abandoning Himself in complete dependence to the loving care of a human Mother, in a certain sense draws our attention once again to her. The Light has wished to remind us of the window, because He is grateful to her and because He has an infinitely tender love, it is certainly a great grace and a privilege, and one of the most important aspects of this privilege is that it enables us to some extent to appreciate the mystery of God’s great love and respect for His creatures.
That God should assume Mary into heaven is not just a glorification of a “Mother Goddess.” Quite the contrary, it is the expression of the divine love for humanity, and a very special manifestation of God’s respect for His creatures, His desire to do honor to the beings He has made in His own image, and most particularly His respect for the body which was destined to be the temple of His glory. If Mary is believed to be assumed into heaven, it is because we too are one day, by the grace of God, to dwell where she is. If human nature is glorified in her, it is because God desires it to be glorified in us too, and it is for this reason that His Son, taking flesh, came into the world.
In all the great mystery of Mary, then, one thing remains most clear: that of herself she is nothing, and that God has for our sakes delighted to manifest His glory and His love in her.
It is because she is, of all the saints, the most perfectly poor and the most perfectly hidden, the one who has absolutely nothing whatever that she attempts to possess as her own, that she can most fully communicate to the rest of us the grace of the infinitely selfless God. And we will most truly possess Him when we have emptied ourselves and become poor and hidden as she is, resembling Him by resembling her.
And all our sanctity depends on her maternal love. The ones she desires to share the joy of her own poverty and simplicity, the ones whom she wills to be hidden as she is hidden, are the ones who share her closeness to God.
If any of you do not believe in her ‘Yes’ leave her alone, but do not tarnish her, since She is the Mother of the One who died for you on the Cross. Talk ill about her, you talk ill about Her Son, which is turn is talking ill about the One who sent Him.
God Bless You All.
I’m not here to put down anybody, but please put forth facts or valid discussion points. Also do not use strong words.
First, make sure who is a christian as per Bible. Read below
” Acts 11:26 And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch”
Now you tell me who is a christian? Mary’s follower or Jesus’s follower?
Dear Patricia Lewis,
Can you show me one verse saying Mother mary is my mother , my queen?
See what Paul said
Romans 16:13 Greetings to Rufus, elected of the Lord, and his mother who was a second mother to me.
Here Paul not referring to Mother Mary.
Patricia… r u listening?
Jesus never told anyone that his mother will visit every year and give new commands to us. Read what Mary said( this is the ONLY command she given to us )
John 2:5 However his mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
Jesus was there before Mary and Abraham.
John 8:58 And Jesus said “Truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.”
Read the below also
Hebrews 7:3 There is no mention of father, mother or genealogy; nothing is said about the beginning or the end of his life. In this he is the figure of the Son of God, the priest who remains forever.

Jennifer you call that SUBSTANCE of what you have written……..pls dont make me laugh. Satan is already laughing and feeling happy that he is getting you slowly and the rest of you are following.
We Roman Catholics will continue to pray for you and your followers to see the TRUTH.
Mary was blessed by God, just as all mothers are, but she recieved a greater gift from God. Like all gifts it was not given because it was deserved but because God is gracious and gives gifts to whom He pleases.
You have confused being chosen by God as being special and therefore chosen. Moses was nothing special, nor Abram, nor David nor any of the people that God chose.
Peter was nothing special, nor Paul nor any other NT Saint. The donkey that carried Jesus wasn’t special either. The only worthy things in this world are what God makes possible by His totally undeserved grace.
You see in the OT backsliders, adulterers and murderers used by God. You see this also in the NT and yet in one case, and one case only, you decide that the person that God used was deserving of the Grace that she recieved.
What is there recorded of Mary that makes you think that she was sinless? There is nothing in any scripture to indicate that Mary was sinless or especially holy or especially anything. She clearly did not know the will of God any more than anyone else did.
@Phil.. WELL SAID
In the Book of Proverbs the Holy Spirit addresses Mary:” Many daughters have gathered together but you have surpassed them all”.(31:29).
In the Song of Solomon the Spirit says:”One is my dove;my perfect one is but one,flawless to her that bore her” (6:7)
Now if not Mary then who was the Holy Ghost referring to?
~~~~~~~
Mary was full of ‘grace’as the word of God (The Bible)confirms.Grace is a participation in the divine nature.This does not mean that a part or a fraction of God Himself is given to the soul.There can be no fractioning in the unity of the Divine Being.
What it does mean is that there is ‘worked’ in the creature,by the action of the Spirit,’a perfection’ which bears a resemblance to,is modelled on,the divine nature.It is a perfection which has its source and principle in the ‘divine nature itself’.(Please pray and reflect upon!)
~~~~~~~
Phil (767)Where in holy scripture it says that Mary was a sinner?
~~~~~~~
AND PHIL I HOPE YOU ARE NOT AS IGNORANT AS SOME OF YOUR COMMENTS IMPLY!
Luther was a Catholic priest and although he is no longer a Catholic for he was a leading figure in the so called reformation (really a deformation when one considers the multi-state of protestantism today)I am of the opinion that if a person takes an oath at ordination that inspite of ones betrayal of that oath ‘once a priest always a priest’.An oath to God is of high importance and not to be overthrown by any ordained Catholic Priest.
Phil,(756)
Jesus Christ was both God and man.As God he was the Word of The Blessed Trinity-the 2nd Person.And as man he bore the genes of his earthly Mother, Mary.
As an ‘apparent bible thumper’ your knowledge of sacred scripture is minimal or satanic infiltrated.
In fact those sincere pursuers of the truth in this debate,from different positions, in a way, are having upon reading the above a good laugh or being ashamed.
The Song of Solomen is about the love between a man and a woman, unless you are saying that Mary was black? and that all the other things are also true of her?
Could you show me where the bible says Mary was full of grace? As far as I can tell that phrase is applied only to Jesus in John 1:14.
As to Mary being a sinner, Paul (quoting God speaking in the OT) writes “there is none righteous, no, not one. After Jesus was born what did Mary do? She had to undergo “purification” according to Luke’s gospel and to make a sacrifice of 2 doves as per the Law. Leviticus 12 tells us that this was an offering for sin, an atonement for sin.
So the OT tells us and the NT tells us that Mary was a sinner, knew she was a sinner and did what she had to do as a sinner under the Law.
Luther didn’t break an oath with God, he broke an oath made whilst under the sway of heretics who teach that men must not marry if they are to be priests. This is wrong on 2 counts. The NT teaches that priests must be the husband of one wife therefore they must marry and secondly the NT tells us not to swear oaths James 5:12 explicitly forbids it.
So who should we obey man or God? God says no oaths and the RCC says oaths!
Liam I note that your only abilities appear to be posting insults and making sweeping unsupported slanders.
So we both agree that Jesus was human and had a human nature and that he got his genes at least partly (probably anyway since the scriptures don’t say) from Mary.
That doesn’t make Mary the Mother of God nor the Spouse of God. Unless you are now saying that one can be a mother to someone who predates your existence?
Well said Phil.
Hi Patricia,
#760 – As God says in Isaiah 49:15, God’s love is greater than mother’s love. I would suggest you first read the bible, don live on your own beliefs then you can come and write insulting comments.
You must read the Bible properly. It was Jesus who was taken for purification.Gospel according to St. Luke Ch2 22-24. Read it carefully. He was taken for purification not She. And the offering of doves and pigeons were offerings on the behalf of the first born and not sin offering. don’t give such false interpretation about the Bible. and don’t call yourself nose deep in the Bible. what Patricia told was and is (and i don’t want it to continue) controlled by satan. And stop calling Her a sinner, it grieves all of our hearts when you call our Mother like that (period)!
Jennifer,
God’s love is not greater bt the Greatest and do remember that God exalted Mother’s love over there. it is ‘can a mother forget her nursing child……. ?’ its like a question to reflect upon that God gives us, and then He says even that happens ‘I will not forget you’ it is the Mother’s love that is great but God’s Love is even greater. I really pity on you people who accuse Catholics for not following the Scriptures but give false interpretations about It. surly you are under the hood of the satan that is your eyes can’t see the Scriptures properly and your mind can’t interpret is correctly.
Hail Mary……..
Glory to GOD
Phil.
I am sorry if you feel insulted but the truth can hurt.
~~~
Oh thee of little faith!
What you have now stated above is contrary to the Bible.
Rather surprising when earlier you stated that we must adhere to the Bible only.
I would suggest that you reflect upon the statement of Jesus when he stated ‘I and the Father are one…’
Apparently Jennifer is in the same dilemma as yourself.I assure you that you are both being prayed for by me at this very moment.
Phil,
Judge not and you shall not be judged.Nothing meant personally but the truth can at times hurt.There are many out there who are hurt by the sayings of Jesus.
Go to your Bible and let me know what Jesus meant when he said ‘I and the father are one’.
Apparently Jennifer shares the unreality and the same or similar delemmas as yourself so I will at this moment pray for you both.Please pray for me.
It isn’t the truth that hurts and you insults don’t either. They are just rudeness and slander. Like my master I expect to be insulted and slandered and I forgive those that do it :-)
With regards to George’s comment that the purification was for Jesus there are a few issues.
1) Jesus did not need to be purified
2) Jesus did not need to atone for his own sin
3) The scripture says it was for the mother to have her sin atoned for.
4) The Law says it was for the mother to be purifed.
Leviticus 12
5But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.
6And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:
7Who shall offer it before the LORD, and make an atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that hath born a male or a female.
8And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be clean.
This we can say
Who was unclean? The mother
Who maded sacrifice? The Mother
What for? To atone for her sin
Mary was a saint, clearly chosen by God for a task, but was never equal with God, never married to anyone but Joseph never sinless or prefect. That heresy was one which crept in early from the surrounding cults who deified women.
One other person posted that the Catholic Church didn’t exist before the Roman Church, that person clearly doesn’t understand what the Catholic Church is.
regards
Phil
Phil,
Are you not insulting Jesus-born to a predestined immaculate Mary- by implying that he is not God?
‘I and the father are one-who sees me sees the father’.
Regards,Liam.
Mary was the mother of our savior. You are not to pray to mary for anything and when you do you are praying to a dead person who also needed a savior aka her son Jesus. Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life. No one cometh unto the father but through me. Jesus never commanded anywhere in the bible to pray to his mother for anything. And you people want to deify her which is outright heresy. Remember when Jesus was in the house and they came and told him your mother and brothers are outside wanting to speak with you. Then Jesus looked around and said who are my mother and brothers??? They who do the will of my father in heaven are my brothers and sisters and mother. So if we do the will of God we are equal with the one you people are praying to. You must pray to Jesus to intercede on your behalf to God the father. When you pray to Mary you are trampling the blood of Christ underfoot..making his atonement ineffect.
@ Phil : Well said… BTW thats the truth.
@ George…. NOW open your bible and start reading… if you dont have one please let me know i can send to you one.
@ Phil :See Phil now they are indirectly telling that Jesus is sinful but Mary is sinless.
@ Liam: before putting your “valuable” comments please read those bible verses and its related verses first.

I haven’t implied or said that Jesus Christ is not God. What I have said is that there is a man called Jesus who is the Christ and is also God.
The scriptures teach us that Jesus is fully man and fully God. It isn’t an insult to Jesus Christ to call him a man since the scriptures do that before and after His death.
“There is one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus”
As for Mary being without sin I have already shown that this is contrary to what the bible teaches about her.
I don’t have any words to put it so delicate, You guys will never make it, your understanding of the Bible is thats all, you can take up some words from the Bible and cook up your own definition and dilute other people’s mind and worst of all bringing them also into your boat that follows satan. I don’t know where this will end. but one thing is for sure, God our Father will surely be grieving upon you people for creating you all. Mary and other Saints are worthy of Veneration and GOD is The only Person worthy of our praises and glory.
Hail Mary
Glory and Praise to You Lord JESUS CHRIST
LET US FOLLOW CHRIST!

I can now fully understand why there are so many denominations claiming to be the Church of Christ.Human ego based upon poor interpretation of scripture and manipulated by satan!Plus ignoring holy tradition via the Spirit as guaranteed by Jesus to St.Peter.
~
Today, mankind, urgently requires a spiritual revolution and a return to the truth for if so called believers can build thousands of so called christian denominations based upon personal aside from Spirit inspired scripture interpretation then satan is rubbing his hands in joy and contentment.

Our Saviour came to us through Mary and we return to Him through Mary.

This thought for all those who tell that Mary had children other than Jesus,
As we read Gospel of John 19:25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
19:26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! 19:27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
In this verse we can clearly understand that if Mary had children other than Jesus there is no requirement of appointing his disciple to take care of her and there it is clearly mentioned that from that day that disciple took her unto his home if Mary had other children will they keep quite when John takes their mother to his home. And no where in Bible is told that after death of Jesus Mary lived with her children nor in her home because she lived with the John (disciple)and with other disciples living as their mother from this she become the mother of all the nations.
Hi
As per your comment #772, good to know that you have accepted that God’s love is greatest. For your information, in my comment i said the same and you have elaborated it.
As you know God’s love is greatest submit yourself to God. Pray to Him and Praise and thank Him alone because His love only will be forever and ever.
God exalts the mother but for sure she is no greater than God (even if she has carried Jesus in her womb). So pray to him who is greatest.
@Liam-you said “Our Saviour came to us through Mary and we return to Him through Mary”
Please show me one verse regarding the above.
@ William – DO you know why Jesus spoke to John to take care his mother? Read the below
John 7:5 His brothers spoke like this because they didn’t believe in him.
Hope you are clear.

Babu,(784) may I reply:Because they are part of the mystical Body of Christ as are all true followers of Jesus.We are adoring Jesus when we venerate his sincere and saintly followers.
Georgy,
Upon reflection, since I entered this debate via your beautiful site and having perused the contributions from various individuals in relation to Mary the Mother of God I conclude that ‘reason’is the gift from Our Creator that satan tries to influence in his campaign of evil.
He initially trapped Adam and Eve through appealing to their minds so he could ensnare their souls.And still, today, he encourages us to let ‘reason’ dominate ‘faith’,but the duty of reason should be to gain better understanding of what was given to us in ‘faith’.
In the debate the reason of some has been to hammer ‘faith'(the gift from God)by the use of reason and the written word.And sadly many are not aware about their manipulation although they appear sincere persons.
Seeking guidance now from the Holy Ghost is what we require to face a world society which is increasingly becoming secular and God-less.May God bless you all!!!!!!!
Hi Jibson,
Please reflect on 789.
Please reflect-If Mary had said no to Gabriel we would not have had Jesus.Mary is the Tabernacle of God- Word made man.
EUCHARIST
The Blessed Sacrament- The Eucharist- The One and Only God, The eternal source of all that is.
A Blessed Trinity of three persons Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
Of whom The Son became man, being born to The Virgin Mary Through the power of The Spirit and named Jesus.
To suffer and die for humanity on Mount Calvary to ensure Our Salvation and who because of His love for us, arising From The truth that God is Love, offered Himself to us as the Bread of Life and who abides Here with us in His Church.
So accept His offer of Himself as the Bread of Life and abide With Him for He will bring us to eternal happiness in His Heavenly abode.
So let us now and forever adore The Eucharist

792-Babu,please reflect!
It would appear that your reasoning faculties are all mixed up for Jesus as God-man was born to the Virgin Mary just over 2,000years ago.Now The Word of The Blessed Trinity (God) existed before the birth of the Mother of Jesus or Creation and it was The Word who shared Mary’s genes and brought forth Our Saviour by the grace of the Holy Ghost(Spirit).

Oh chosen One of The Father
And Spouse of The Holy Spirit,
Pure mould of The Anointed,
Our Saviour,
Immaculate Mother of us all
Whose ‘YES’ was required
For our redemption,
Please nurture us
So that we shall fulfil
The Will of Our Creator.Amen.
Phil,781,
Please inform us where The Bible states that Mary was a sinner?
May I also suggest that you and all who concur with you to pray to the Holy Spirit for necessary enlightenment and freedom from ‘scriptural addiction and personal interpretation’ of God’s word.For although the truth is there in scripture it is not limited to the written word alone for as stated above there was much that happened around the reality of God becoming man that it is not recorded in scripture as the Bible confirms.Also there is ‘holy tradition’via the Magisterium of the Church founded upon Peter, a truth that is being expressed at this very moment.For truth is not static for God is Truth and the Creator of all via His Holy Spirit expresses the truth spiritually and inspiritationally at each moment.
I love you all and may we meet up in paradise.

26 In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee,27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.28The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”
29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.31 You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus.32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.”
34 “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”
35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month.37 For nothing is impossible with God.”
38 “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it be to me as you have said.” Then the angel left her.
The above verses from the Bible clearly shows that Angel Gabriel was telling Mary about what will happen, he was not seeking her permission and she humbly accepted saying she is also a servant/handmaid of the Lord. Jesus did not come to Earth because Mary said Yes, please do not ridicule the power of the Living God by saying such things.
Mary was a virgin when she conceived Jesus and this happened in a supernatural way and hence Jesus does not share any genes or umbelical cord connection with Mary. She was just a carrier, a good servant of God. Holy Ghost does not have a spouse, please do not play with fire and get yourself burnt. Please stop talking sin and blasphemy and pray to the only Living God.
Jesus died for all our sins. Only his blood has the power to wash away our sins and he did just that and rose up the third day conquering death. Only he deserves praise and worship, we should pray only to him. Only he can save you and me no one else. He is God, the Father, son and Holy Spirith all in one. Praise Jesus, Amen!

As well as the contents of The Bible and AS a member of the Body of Christ I LISTEN to the Spirit of God within me and to the Magisterium of the Church of Christ ie The Pope,Bishops,etc,.I cannot go wrong for Jesus ensured Peter that he would build His Church upon him confirming that the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.So what better guarantee is there than the assurance of the founder of Christianity,itself? If Mary is the Mother of ‘God made man’ what problem do you see in regarding Her as the Spouse of the Holy Spirit?
Adam and Eve was requested by God not to eat a particular fruit(not an order),a loving request,but a request that our first parents denied.Mary was not ordered by Gabriel!But in her humility she agreed to God’s request.She freely reacted to the request for she was full of God’s grace.Now our first parents listened to satan via their egos and reasoning and that precisely is why the Church of Christ has and will receive many blows from within and without until the end of time.The birth of Jesus, however,is the bulwark against satanic attacks and thats why humanity is in debt to a humble Jewish maiden who freely cooperated with her God to ensure the salvation of humanity.
Stop hiding behind scriptural words and listen to the Spirit within you.Just as Mary did.
Mary had to be free of sin for Jesus to be born in her.Being full of grace and the characteristic activity of grace is CHARITY,and in her love of God the soul of Mary was incessantly active.That is why she was chosen.Not willy nilly as some of your compatriots argue.
Dear Liam
Only Jesus can open your blind eyes.

The verse above is a prayer from the very lips of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. He wanted us Christians to be one – united.
As a Christian it is not my business to argue with my fellow Christians especially on matters that concern My Lord’s Mother.
Jesus certainly honoured Mary, because He chose Her to be His Mother – not Sarah, not Leah, not Judith. He chose Her, because it is His Will. And God’s Will is firm.
And did He also not give this commandment: “Honour Thy Father and Mother,” at Sinai? Obedient to My Lord, I honour my own parents, and following His example, I will also honour His mother.
As for praying the rosary, I do not see why it is un-Christian. It begins with the Creed, and brings together prayers that are perfumed with the fragrance of Holy Scripture:
The Our Father – Our Lord’s Prayer, is, like the prayer in John 17:21, the very prayer of Jesus. Is my prayer any more perfect than His Own?
The Hail Mary – The first part comes from Luke 1:28 “And coming to her, he (The Angel of the Lord) said, “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you.”
Full of Grace – from the Greek [kecharitomene], which describes a female recipient that has received the fullness of grace (hence The Angel of the Lord was referring to Mary).
The line that follows is from Luke 1:41-42a:
“When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, ‘Most blessed are you among women…'”
More blessed than Ruth, than Sarah, or even Eve who also was made by God without sin.
Luke 1:42b: “…and blessed is the fruit of your womb.” Mary is blessed in relation to the fruit of her womb – Jesus, the Son of The Most High, The Messiah.
Praying this prayer, and acknowledging that Mary is blessed, is a fulfillment of a Canticle of Mary – a prophecy she proclaimed, while God Himself was in Her womb — Luke 1:48 “For He has looked upon His handmaid’s lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages shall call me blessed.” These words were surely placed upon Her lips by the Holy Spirit – shall we Christians dare rebel against its fulfillment?
Holy Mary Mother of God is also taken from Luke 1:43: “And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my [Lord] should come to me?
[Lord] is translated from the Greek [Kyrios] – the word used by the Jews in the Septuagint Bible for YHWH, the Divine Name of God.
It means the One that Mary conceived in Her womb, and gave birth to – being conceived and born by a human being is, although completely Human, also completely Divine.
Pray for us sinners…is a petition by the early Church – who recognized the importance of Mary’s role in the Church, and how important Mary is to Her Son, Jesus.
Is it useless to repeat prayers?
Matthew 26:39 He advanced a little and fell prostrate in prayer, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; yet, not as I will, but as you will.”
Matthew 26:42 Withdrawing a second time, he prayed again, “My Father, if it is not possible that this cup pass without my drinking it, your will be done!”
Matthew 26:44 He left them and withdrew again and prayed a third time, saying the same thing again.
and…
Psalm 136:1-26
Praise the LORD, who is so good;
God’s love endures forever;
Praise the God of gods;
God’s love endures forever;
. . . Praise the God of heaven,
God’s love endures forever.
That’s a rhetorical question.
Let us pray:
“Lord Jesus, we Christians today repeat Your Prayer to Your Father – ‘let us be one as You and Your Father are one,’ for a house that is divided cannot stand (Mark 3:25)…therefore, dwell in us as You dwell in the Father, and the Father in You. And grant us the grace to honour Your Mother [as You Yourself honour Her.] For while You do not adore Her, You have made marvels for Her, and because of Her [Luke 1:49; John 2:1-11] May our respect for Her – in obedience to You, and because we love you – draw us closer to You. We ask You this, In Your Mighty Name Jesus. Amen.
Even our first parents,Adam and Eve,thought that they could ignore the request of Our Creator and it would appear that you are of the same mindset.It is my hope that I am wrong but your attitude towards the Mother of God and the teaching of Jesus and his Church implies otherwise.And if you are a so called ‘individual’ Christian or a member of one of the various denominations prevalent,today,I share the hope of our Saviour: “I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold.I must lead them, too,and they shall hear my voice.There shall be one flock then,one shepherd.”JOHN-10:16.
Please realise,Sabu,that there cannot be more than one true Church of Christ because the Church is Christ.Christ cannot be divided.
“There is but one body and one Spirit,just as there is but one hope given all of you by your call.There is but one Lord,one baptism;one God and Father of all,who is over all,and works through all,and is in all”EPH-4:4-6.
And Christ in JOHN 17:20- prayed for the universal unity of the Christian community but sadly that is not the reality today.His hope has been splintered because of individual interpretations of Holy Scripture.A means which satan is delighted with.Thus,sincere Christians must realise that Christ and His Church is more than the written word of scripture for God existed long prior to the writing down of the 1st word of the Bible.But if you are not in agreement with this then listen to the statement of Jesus from scripture-
“Though art Peter and upon this rock I will build my church…”.Not churches nor denominations with their various interpretations.That is why Jesus established the Catholic Church and guaranteed its truth and protection.
Brothers and sisters in Christ.
There’s an old saying that one could lead a horse to water but not make it drink.In my contributions to this debate the ‘water’ is TRUTH.
Simply stated we should pray to the Blessed Virgin Mary because she is the Mother of God and our mother.Our mother because Jesus is our Brother.
I have no doubt within the context of faith and,indeed,reason that God,Our Father is certainly pleased when we pray to Mary and honour her in a special way.In honouring her we are only imitating what God himself has done, since he has blessed her above all his other creatures.
As I say goodbye I pray that the mother of God and our mother will draw us all to the company of Jesus,her Son,in paradise.God bless you all!!!Please pray for me!
Liam….
