History of NIV Bible – The New International Version project was started after a meeting in 1965 at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois between the Christian Reformed Church, National Association of Evangelicals, and a group of international scholars. The New York Bible Society (now Biblica) was selected to do the translation. The New Testament was released in 1973 and the full Bible in 1978. From the beginning, the NIV was met with great enthusiasm. By December of 1978 over 1,200,000 copies had been sold. Since then, the NIV has undergone numerous reprintings, and many different specialized editions have been released.

As the NIV Bible comes as a PDF, you need to have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed in your computer.
If you don’t have it, please download the latest version of it from http://get.adobe.com/reader/ and then try to download the NIV Bible PDF again.

Thanks for making this file (illegally?) available. I can’t use it because there’s no page numbers on the contents page and no page header showing which book I’m looking at.using this on an Android phone is slower than phoning a bookshop and getting them to send me a Bible by courier.I’ll shell out for one of the Bible apps I think.Cheers!

It is just a PDF file…so just download the file and ensure that you have Adobe Acrobat Reader program installed on your computer so that you can properly read the contents of the PDF file. Thats all you got to do to get this NIV Bible PDF in your system.

Thanks for the NIV Bible. Unfortunately, the books of the bible listed in the index are not hyperlinked. Is that correct or am I doing something wrong? Does anybody know where I can get NIV with hyperlinked books in the index of the bible or perhaps how I could hyperlink those books of the bible? It will make navigation so much easier.
