Why Pray To Virgin Mary?

chittor-mother-mary-statue

Why should we pray to Virgin Mary? The reasons are many.

Why do Catholics pray to Mother Mary? Is Rosary really powerful?

The intercession of Mother Mary is very powerful as Jesus cannot neglect His mothers commands. This can be proved by the first miracle Jesus did at the wedding at Cana. – (John 2:1-11). Mother Mary told Jesus “They have no more wine.” And what was the final result? He turned water into wine.

In “The Poem of the Man-God” by Maria Valtorta, she says that Jesus told her about this incident as “I did it for Mary”. This proves that the intercession of Mother Mary is very very strong.

Mother Mary was blessed with Holy Spirit abundantly. We can see this as we read “At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.” (Luke 1:39-41) ; just by Virgin Mary’s greeting.

Listen to the talk from Apologetics on Mary, Purgatory and The Bible

What the angels thought on this matter:-

When angel appeared before Zechariah, father of John, angel just greets him by his name ,nothing more although he was “upright in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commandments and regulations blamelessly.” – (Luke 1:6)

When angel appeared before Joseph, the greeting was like this: “an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.” – (Matthew 1:20). Angel greeted him ‘son of david’, thats all.

Now let us see how did the angel greet Virgin Mary. It goes like this: “The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” (Luke 1:28). See the difference….

  1. So what does happen has she said “no”. Will God’s plan be stopped? Or he would have looked for another girl who could be obedient? And would you to pray (pray / intercede to / intercede with etc) to that other girl?

Could you talk to Mother Mary as you would talk to a fellow Christian who is alive here on earth?

  2. @ Dani
Could you talk to Mother Mary as you would talk to a fellow Christian who is alive here on earth?

    why not!
some folks can communicate to God Himself, hear His voice, and are guided by the Holy Spirit(esp. when they read the bible)
so I don’t think it would be difficult for you to talk to Mother Mary

but for me, not so. 2 reasons-
    1. I’m a catholic. I need gifted people to guide me, who have authority.

    2. I’m not lucky enough(not holy enough actually) to have this capability.
do you remember what happened when Moses came down from Sinai after talking to God? Ex 34:30
what about hearing His voice? Ex 20:19

finally, it is useless to think about what could happen if Mary disobeyed..God’s plan after that..then what we would be doing…etc etc.
    no need to do that
just think about what HAS happened..what IS happening, and what WILL happen.

Sorry – but i didnt get you. I know the personalities of God and that He is here with me. I have reasons why i believe He is here with me. Its because He has promised the same thru the scriptures “I WILL BE WITH YOU ALWAYS”. Rest assured, i can trust that God is there with me and each of HIs children. THEREFORE, He can hear me. Therefore, i can talk to Him. Though not always in audible to the human ear, sometimes He speaks thru the Word, dreams, visions, prophecies etc. This part of talking to God, praying to God i can understand.

When i ask a fellow Christian to pray for me, i am tlaking to him as i can see him, feel him physically here in my place. So i ask him/her to pray for me.

    1. My question is this – can i talk to Mary in this same manner? As i talk to a fellow Christian who is alive on earth.

God is the Creator. Mary is the creation.

Creator God promised to always be with us and hear our prayers. And He does.

But, can i know whether Mary has promised to be with us, and hear our prayers always? Bible verses to support ?

    Thanks and God bless
    Dani

  4. Dani – can i talk to Mary in this same manner?

    WHY???
you can’t see her. you can’t feel her physically so obviously you can’t talk to her IN THAT SAME MANNER.
why do you ask such atheist-style question? what will it prove?

Dani – God is the Creator. Mary is the creation. Creator God promised to always be with us and hear our prayers. And He does.

    absolutely right.

Dani – But, can i know whether Mary has promised to be with us, and hear our prayers always? Bible verses to support ?

    why??
why must she have promised? God is with her (Luke 1:28) so she must be with us.
who told you that SHE HEARS OUR PRAYERS? it’s God who hears prayers.
may be, we need to define ‘hearing one’s prayer’. right?
    now..Bible verses.
hmmm…ok. i don’t find any verse to support my statement.
but who supported early Christians when there were no bible verses?

  5. Its totally WRONG TO PRAY TO MARY! WE SHOULD HONOUR HER, BUT WE SHOULD NOT GIVE HER ANY GLORY.
JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD CAME TO GIVE US SALVATION, NOT MARY!
JESUS CHRIST HEALED THE SICK, NOT MARY!
JESUS CHRIST IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE, NOT MARY!
JESUS CHRIST CLEARLY SAID “NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER BUT THROUGH”

SO FRIENDS ONLY JESUS CHRIST TAKES OUR PRAYERS AND
PRESENTS IT TO GOD, NOT MARY!

  6. I have not read all the posts, but I think it important to remember that Jesus commissioned (Simon) Peter as the rock on which His Church would be built.
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, the faith was to be spread.
Jesus did not give Peter a bible, he sent him as a man inflamed by Holy Spirit.
The bible is very important to the faith, but it is a tool. Mother Church and her teachings are as important. The Church is the Bride of Christ and brought forth the Faith to God’s people for fifteen hundred years before the Bible was available to everybody. Without the Church instituted by Jesus Christ, and brought forward by the Apostles and the Holy Spirit, there would be no argument today about “Sola scriptura” Don’t you think it funny that the the Protestant movement really began when the bible became available for personal interpretation? Careful how you tread on Christ’s Church.
    May God Bless you all.

  7. @Joshua
after a long time…but with same logic.
i wonder why you are adding the phrase ‘not Mary’. show me a bible reference with the phrase ‘not Mary’.

say something new man. your argument is nothing more than a stick to beat Catholics with.

ah, your last sentence..something new is there.

And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand. Rev8:3-4

what is this fellow{angel) doing here? that’s Jesus’ work-to present our prayers to God..according to you. may be Jesus takes rest for a while?

next time when you post something, do it with some seriousness. don’t just increase the number of comments

  8. @ntoppo:
    -WHY???
you can’t see her. you can’t feel her physically so obviously you can’t talk to her IN THAT SAME MANNER.
why do you ask such atheist-style question? what will it prove?

My comment: If u can’t talk to her, if u cant feel her, then how can i pray to her?

    Ntoppo:
    why must she have promised?

God made a promise to us that “HE” will be with us, and hear our prayers. THEREFORE i know God hears us. If Mary can’t promise, then what do we expect from her?

    Ntoppo:
God is with her (Luke 1:28) so she must be with us.
-God is with her – yes agreed.
-So she must be with us – how can i know that? Any reference from the Word of God?

    Ntoppo:
    – who told you that SHE HEARS OUR PRAYERS? it’s God who hears prayers.

Thanks for clearing that for me bro – Mary cant hear. Thanks for the info brother. Which means to say – i need not pray to Mary and praying to her (when she cant hear) is like praying to a graven image that has ears but cannot hear.

    Ntoppo:
    – hmmm…ok. i don’t find any verse to support my statement.

A Christian’s guide is all there in the Bible which is the combining of the written Word of God. If not supported by the Bible, then that is called un-biblical.

but who supported early Christians when there were no bible verses?
Sorry – i didnt get you in this.

    God bless

  9. @Dani & others against Mother’s special role in our redemption

Jesus died for us. He gifted us undeserving humans salvation by being one among them.

He did not give up His human body after resurrection! He is still with His Holy Body and will come again on His second coming with all glory.

If His job was done by dying for us he wouldn’t have stayed/staying with human flesh..
Mary is the mother of God’s human nature!
We must respect His human nature as much as His divine nature.
By denying His mother we deny our heavenly mother.
Yes Mary is His creation. But the most Holy. Do you think God can get nourishment as a fetus in a body where even original is there? Do you think He can grow up anywhere else than the most Holy family?
Don’t you believe in miracles that Jesus did? Can’t Father create the most holy womb for His beloved son?Why do you or anyone else let your minds say, if Mother Mary had disobeyed, he could have thought of someone else! Yes, you reason with human minds. By denying a mysterious ways of God , you deny the power of God and disgrace The Holy Spirit!
Don’t forget the words – ” where sins against Father and Son can be forgiven, but not sins against the Spirit “.

You interpret things according to your own misunderstood logic. When you don’t like something from the Bible take things literally and argue.

On the day of last supper, Jesus transformed bread and wine as His Body and Blood. I do not which denominations think it is symbolic and which others believe along with Catholics that He really does transform it during every Eucharistic celebration.
If you don’t I want to question, why don’t you believe it as it is written in the Bible while you argue about everything about Mother Mary.

You say, she can’t hear our prayers because you don’t know the meaning of intercession.
Israelite were winning when Moses was praying harder. Why that had an effect? Because he was righteous. Now you say, he was alive then.
Well, then why did Moses and Elijah appeared during transfiguration of Jesus. And they were TALKING to Him.Refer KJB-Joshua 1:2″Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.”
Moses died. Then how could he come and talk to Jesus? Whether in his eternal body or temporary body doesn’t matter.
Then why not, why not Jesus can speak to His mother and other righteous departed souls?
Jesus is the head of the church and we are his body parts. Both who are alive and who are departed from earth. We both are waiting for Christ’s second coming, for our final judgment and thereafter to live with His holy presence on a place He has created for us.
    Yes, they can hear us.

“There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’ Luke 16:19-24 (NIV)

Notice that, they can see each other, hear each other.

(Abraham):[31] “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”

So Abraham knows what is in the rich man’s brothers future! What I am trying to say is, God reveals certain truths to people who are departed and close to Him.Through Beatific vision!

Rev 5:8- “golden bowls of incense, which are the prayers of the saints”. If you say, St.Paul called saints to every believer who is alive,on the judgment day nobody will be alive. Everyone will die, even those two witnesses sent by God.(Then they become alive.)Also, when Jesus gave back life miraculously he said, they are sleeping, not as “DEAD”. Their bodies were sleeping and spirit alive. Take this literally as well!

In the Second Letter to the Thessalonians, St. Paul is just as explicit: “So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter” (2:15).
Then why do you say Catholics act by traditions and not by scripture!
and nowhere in the Bible including St.Paul’s letters it is mentioned salvation is by ‘scripture alone’.
Yes, Jesus became “our sin” in order to die to get us salvation. The work is not complete, we have to earn it and He created Church to cling to the faith because we cannot know everything by our own. Holy spirit guides church. Not everyone is able to interpret His will, if it were possible we wouldn’t have required His mother’s obedience,Jesus’ human nature in fact obedience of Abraham. Do not forget that we are born with gift of free will.Even satan tempted Jesus maybe through external factors. We have to earn every bit of salvation.

I have gone off the track or maybe not and all these points are already mentioned and I also know that this will have no effect.

I just said what I had to after a long day.
Catholic brothers & sisters please correct me if am wrong in expressing something.

    Mother Mary pray for us.

  10. Mark 3:31-35 KJV

There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

  11. Mark 3:31-35 NKJV

Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him. And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are outside seeking You.” But He answered them, saying, “Who is My mother, or My brothers?” And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.”
Was it Jesus who taught us or was it Mary?
Was it Jesus who prayed for us with tears of blood or was it Mary?
Was it Jesus who stood between us and the wrath of God by His suffering for our sins or was it Mary?
Was it Jesus who prayed to the Father and said “forgive them for they know not what they do.” Or Mary?
Did God say about Mary “this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, hear Him!”?

  12. Chase, you quoted a passage that really is one of the reasons for honoring our Mother. if anyone, other than Jesus, did the will of God wholeheartedly that was none but Mother Mary. Jesus is giving great honor to her for her faith and obedience by saying these words. thus Mary is Jesus’ mother not just by flesh rather there is even a greater spiritual relationship between both of them.
so, think it anyway, Mary is the Mother of Jesus and Mother of God!! a great mystery.

  13. When you ask yourself these questions and answer them truthfully, you will see that Jesus is our intercessory and only He has paid the cost to be our High Priest and advocate who prays with and for us. If it was anything beyond this He would have made it clear. He didn’t say come follow my mother Mary and she will guide you to Me. He said ” come follow ME”.

  14. If it was anything beyond this He would have made it clear. He didn’t say come follow my mother Mary and she will guide you to Me. He said ” come follow ME”.
And no preethi it is not by scripture we are saved but by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The work is not complete???? So Jesus couldn’t complete it?????
Preethi maybe you should know what St. Paul says and learn your scripture before you teach.
    Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
    Romans 11:6 NKJV

And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.
    1 Corinthians 16:21-24 NKJV

The salutation with my own hand—Paul’s. If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. O Lord, come! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.

    John 17:14 NKJV

I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

  15. Ntoppo wow you really had to stretch that to make it fit huh?
No matter I am only saying what the bible says I don’t have to make it fit.
Should I believe some other teaching other than the Holy Bible?
I think its pretty clear in its instructions. Why add to it or take away from its credibilty?
    2 Timothy 4:2-3 NKJV

Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure
    sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
    Colossians 1:27-29 NKJV

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.

I love Mary so much! There are so many things that are in Christianity, that aren’t found within the Bible. So many Mysteries, Miracles and Acts of Christ which we experience all around us.

Mother Mary is so close to God, she is the Mother of Christ, as a Catholic I believe she was no ordinary woman. God equipped her through an Immaculate Conception, creating her as the “New Eve” giving her the opportunity to choose God. She could have been like Eve, and ate from the apple, but she didn’t, and in her choosing God and sinlessness she was equipped to carry the MOST PRECIOUS GIFT in her unordinarily grace-filled womb and carry Christ into the world. She didn’t give birth to Jesus and sit on the sidelines like most women, she was by His side.

Ever seen the Passion Of Christ? Watch it and look at Mary in this… Every waking moment of our Lords death, she was there, suffering with Him….****************

WOW! Seriously???? SERIOUSLY!!! SO….that means most mothers now-a-days should be like Mary?? You could pray to ME when I am dead?? I stand by my children NO MATTER WHAT. So am I unordinary? Come on. Get real.

You don’t ACCEPT MARY to get to heaven, my friend. I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but if that were the case, don’t you think there would me more of a “fuss” about her?

BOTTOM LINE: Thou shall NOT pray to any other God but me.

Is there something confusing about that???

And I SWEAR I posted on here (since I am getting updates) but can’t seem to find my post (within the last few weeks). Bummer. Did it get yanked for any reason?

  17. chase your comment 265

He didn’t say come follow my mother Mary and she will guide you to Me. He said ” come follow ME”.

1Co:11:1: Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
2Th:3:9: Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us

would you please “fit” your above statement into these verses?
thank you for sharing your knowledge

  18. Matthew 16:24 NKJV

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

    Matthew 19:21 NKJV

Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

    Matthew 4:19-20 NKJV

Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him.

Ntoppo here is a few verses. That’s why I didn’t tie it to a verse because he said this many times as if to emphasize.
I think your missing the point. He is the centerpiece, He is the point, He is our intercessory. We are to follow Him. I’m not trying to dishonor Mary because she played a very important role in our salvation. To put it better look at what John the baptist said (and he also had his much important role)
    John 3:30 NKJV

He must increase, but I must decrease.

    1 Peter 3:18 NKJV

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,

That “He” might bring us to God not Mary.

    1 Corinthians 16:23 NKJV

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Not the grace of our lady be with you.

Brother I pray you let Christ be above all, search the scripture for yourself, pray the Holy spirit to lead you into the pure and holy and powerfully simple teaching of Jesus Christ our Lord in Jesus name amen.

    1 Corinthians 11:1 NKJV

Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.

Jesus Himself prayed for us and is our intercessor.

  19. Preethi says: Dani who is against Mary’s role in redemption.

Reply: it is the most sad thing you have grieved Jesus by DENYING his perfect role for your redemption. Who died to take your sins? There is no remission of sins WITHOUT shedding of blood. So who died for you Preethi and shed His blood for you? Mary didnt shed any blood for our sins. She didnt die for us.
“Without shedding of Blood there is no remission of sins …”(Heb 9:22)

My dear – what has made you to rebel against Jesus Christ your Lord!

Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Ex 20:3)

We as Christians are very clearly instructed no to have any other gods. That means we should pray only to God. If we pray to Mary or anyone else – how does it still be obedient to the above commandment. Its rather a direct Contradiction to the command of God. If so, what and how can we justify praying to Mary?
Support your answers with Bible reference if possible. God bless

  20. @ Dani
hmm I have already supported my statements.
You will not understand what I have understood, nor I will understand what you say because we practice different faith in Christ.

We don’t worship Mary, so going against law isn’t in the equation. If you can at least remove the viewpoint against it, you will know.

I have not implied and never will I say anything against salvation provided by our saviour. He is our ultimate destination.

Nothing taught by Catholic church is against The Bible. Everything originates from it. You can refer Cathechism online by just googling for it. You will find whole resource, not for only one point.

    Thank you. Peace out bro.

  21. I hope you all will see that if you exalt anything but Jesus you have missed the mark.
No need to reply I’ve seen enough. So I say to the believers who only pray to and with Jesus don’t bother these people anymore because here is what the scripture says about them.
    Matthew 13:14-15 NKJV

And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says:
‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand,
And seeing you will see and not perceive; For the hearts of this people have grown dull.
Their ears are hard of hearing,
And their eyes they have closed,
Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,
Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
So that I should heal them.’

    Luke 9:5 NKJV

And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”

Peace to all whom the Lord called unto Himself. His sheep know His voice. Goodbye.

  22. @chase— Ntoppo here is a few verses. That’s why I didn’t tie it to a verse because he said this many times as if to emphasize.
I think your missing the point. He is the centerpiece, He is the point, He is our intercessory. We are to follow Him.

i don’t miss your point. every catholic knows it’s Jesus whom we are to follow. i put those verses-1Co:11:1, 2Th:3:9 to know what type of faith you have in Jesus. Don’t say – “i didn’t tie it” rather say – “I couldn’t tie it”. do you follow Jesus because he said it twice, thrice or more? cool!

we imitate(not follow) Mary because she followed Him. Paul, Peter, all Saints followed Him. and yes Jesus is the centerpiece and will always be the same. “He alone” is the Way. He Alone is the intercessor.

but you can’t imitate Mary, Peter or Paul because your NOTs are the problem.
    Jesus IS…. NOT Mary
    Jesus IS…. NOT Paul
    Jesus IS…. NOT Peter

i remember someone has mentioned a doctrine ‘All-Believers-Are-Saints’ on this thread long before. if you take every verse which contains the word “saint” and examine it, you will find many verses do not match this “all believers are saint” dogma. you can’t justify it unless you twist, change their meaning or just ignore those passages.

what i want to say don’t just pick up bible, choose a suitable verse and start blaming catholics. every verse is important.

    last thing

would you please tell me the basic and essential difference between the words to Follow and to Imitate?(i have a copy of KJV not NKJV)
may be that would convince me why you ‘didn’t tied to that verse”
after all, Truth does not depend on words

  23. ok fine. so finally brother Chase has said goodbye. he has left some important verses for us. if someone knows him please tell him that i have some verses (of course important) for him.

Ro:14:10: But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
1Co:4:4: For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
1Co:4:5: Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
1Co:10:29: Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man’s conscience?
1Co:11:31: For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
Re:20:13: And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

bro Chase thinks of himself a true follower of Jesus, so i put Jesus’ own words, he wouldn’t deny it
M’t:7:1: Judge not, that ye be not judged.
M’t:7:2: For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Joh:7:24: Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

i suggest him not to be in a hurry in judging others
Lu:12:2: For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

  24. MARY,MY MOTHER
EMPTY THE BLESSING OF YOUR SPIRIT UPON ME.
WHEN MY HEART IS HARD AND PARCHED UP
COME UPON ME WITH A SHOWER OF MERCY.
WHEN MY BEGGARLY HEART SITS CROUCHED
    SHUT UP IN A CORNER
    BREAK UPON THE DOOR…
WHEN DESRIRE BLINDS THE MIND WITH DELUSION/DUST
    O THOU HOLY ONE,THOU WAKEFUL
COME WITH THY LIGHT AND THUNDER.
    AMEN.

    luv u Mother…luv u soooo…much..:-)

  25. Another prayer to Mary as mentioned above:

    MARY,MY MOTHER
EMPTY THE BLESSING OF YOUR SPIRIT UPON ME.
WHEN MY HEART IS HARD AND PARCHED UP
COME UPON ME WITH A SHOWER OF MERCY.
WHEN MY BEGGARLY HEART SITS CROUCHED
    SHUT UP IN A CORNER
    BREAK UPON THE DOOR…
WHEN DESRIRE BLINDS THE MIND WITH DELUSION/DUST
    O THOU HOLY ONE,THOU WAKEFUL
COME WITH THY LIGHT AND THUNDER.
    AMEN.

    luv u Mother…luv u soooo…much..:-)

Not to mention the lsat sentence as a prayer and worshipping sentence – a worship to Mary.

Dear catholics – why do you pray to a Creation rather than a Creator? Whom will u face in judgemtn seat – the Creator God Jesus or some created humans?

Its just grave injustice to the pain and suffering that our Lord Jesus alone endured while dying for you and me on the cross. What then has made you to obey the deceptions of the pagan traditions that have crept into our church?

Jesus said: I am the Way.
What does Mary say ? Nothing.

Jesus said: No man can see the Father except THROUGH ME (JESUS) This is a promise too.
    What does Mary promise us?

Jesus – he is our Creator God.
Mary – like all of us, a creation only.

Jesus – is alive in the resurrected body.
Mary – her body is rot in her grave here on earth just as all the saints of Christ.

    Did she resurrect? NO.
Did Jesus resurrect? I already said above – YES.

Jesus said: “Who can convict me of Sin?” A bold question by the sinless Christ to the disbelieving people. Why He said so? Because He is sinless.

    About Jesus:
    He had no sin.
    He knew no sin.
    He did no sin.
He alone loved the sinner – and died for them shedding His blood for their Redemption.
And He alone is the one who says – “i will be with you Always”

Jesus promised – because I live, you shall live also.
Could / had Mary promised anything? Ask yourselves. This is a matter between life and eternal death.

In the above post which i have copied down there – anyone can CLEARLY without any bias understand that it is a Prayer TO Mary. Yes thats what Romans done to our church by mixing their traditions to our Christian beliefs.

Dear friends- rather than sincerely debating for something that de-glorifies Christ, would you rather live your life for the one who died for you and is ALIVE?

God is never mocked, my friends. He cannot promise you one thing and then withdraw it. Why? Because He alone is God.

Whom will you turn your hearts to? Fromt the above post (the prayer to Mary) you can see the modt disgraceful sight – JESUS CHRIST is not at all there in that prayer. My friends – what have made you to disobey Christ and to rebel against HIs word. What pulls you back from coming directly to this Jesus Christ the only God? What makes you to still disobey CHrist and seek Mary to approach Christ? By doing this prayer to Mary and this pracitce of coming to Jesus Christ thru Mary – you have disregarded the promise of Jesus, made light the promises of Jesus. Beloved, will you still hold onto to the pagan traditions that in your ignorace the Romans have mixed it with our Church?

The choice is for you – Life or Death. Prosperity in Christ or Disaster thru the traditions. God would rather you choose the Salvation thru Jesus Christ alone and forsake all pagan beliefs and traditions of praying to Mary and saints. God Jesus guide you all.

    in Christ……. dani (danioct @ yahoo . com )

  26. Dear all,
I am a Catholic, and i am proud to be one, that doesn’t give me a ticket to Heaven, but by the grace of God, Let me ask u a question, why is it that the Mother Mary should appear to many people in this world and keep warning about the dangers the world is going to encounter. not to just discrete people (Fatima apparition) but also to an entire group of people (“The Miracle of the Sun”). there is some thing special This Historical Mother wants to say so please let us listen to her….
    Glory to GOD,
    Hail Mary…….
    GeOrGe.

  27. Mary, although a servant of The Most High God..should not be prayed to…Jesus clearly stated that, “no man comes to the Father, but through ME”…Mary simply fulfilled a prophecy and a directive from God…Mar did not give God The Father made flesh (Jesus) permission to perform any miracle, period. In the Gospel according to John the 14th chapter Jesus clearly and plainly defines the way to the Father…through Him, our advocate…Mary has no place to be worshiped…she bore the Son of God not our transgressions…

  28. Dear Friends,

I humbly request you all to check out the following sites which answers many questions we all have. The answers are totally based on the Holy Bible. You will be amazed to see what the real truth is and how we all have been following false teachings thus sinning against God our Father and Jesus Christ our only Savior.

  29. We ask people on earth to pray for us, to intercede for us. We also pray for ourselves. Praying to Mary, or any other Saint, is simply asking her to join us in prayer just as we ask the living to pray for us.

As to where in the Bible does it say to pray to Mary, where in the Bible does it say that the written word is the only source of authentic Christian doctrine? Most of the Old Testament was an oral tradition before it was written. Neither Mark nor Luke were apostles so their Gospel accounts were based upon the testimony of other eyewitnesses. It was not first hand.

In 2 Thessalonians 15 Paul writes: “Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours.”

Before the Gospels were written, the traditions of the faith were transmitted orally and through letters. At this time there was no canonical New Testament. The Gospels were written out of the lived faith of the Christian communities to whom they were addressed.

From the earliest times Mary was honored as the Mother of God. We continue to honor Mary and ask her to join us in interceding to her son Our Lord Jesus Christ.

  30. hi friends:

It is very unfortunate to see people worshiping Mary even after reading the bible. Only the trinity of God (the father, the son, and the holy spirit) is worthy of worship. Mary was of course a blessed lady like many of other people mentioned in the bible and like us also who have got the anointing of the holy spirit but nobody deserves to be worshiped and prayed other than the Lord Jehovah, Lord Jesus, and Lord Holy Spirit. Please read bible where it clearly states us that our ONLY INTERCESSOR TO LORD ALMIGHTY IS JESUS. ONLY JESUS died for us for our sins and not Mary. Jesus shed his blood for the atonement of our sins and nobody else. This is a SIN if you are giving God’s place to Mary. Dear friends do not be fooled by anybody because by worshiping Mary you are breaking the very first commandment out of 10 that says “I am the Lord thy God..thou shalt have no other Gods before me.” Please read the bible carefully..how many times have you seen the name of Mary in the Gospel, leave the rest of the letters and the book of “Revelations.” If you also accept Jesus and Lord Almighty as your God please find out in the bible..did they ever say that Mary should be worshiped..When Mary told Jesus in the wedding at Cana that they have no more wine what did Jesus say to her “Woman, how does this concern of yours affect me?” Please only follow Bible and its teachings and nothing else. I pray that God open your spiritual eyes that you may see and come to know what is wrong and what is right. God bless you all.

  31. Sal says: We ask people on earth to pray for us, to intercede for us. We also pray for ourselves. Praying to Mary, or any other Saint, is simply asking her to join us in prayer just as we ask the living to pray for us.

Dear – when on earth i ask a fellow Christian to pray for me, i can see the fellow person, or contact him / her. Am i able to see Mary as i can see my fellow Christian? If praying to Mary is same as asking someone here to pray – that means i can interact with Mary as i can interact with a person here on earth. This is absolutely false.

Mary didnt make any promises to hear our prayers. Did she?
Jesus Christ is the only One who gave you and me promises. He said “I will be with you to the end of days”. He said “ask unto ME”. He didnt put another person who has left the earthly life to stay in between you and Christ Himself. He didnt. Instead, He took all the sufferings of your sin upon the Cross so that you can access God the Father in Jesus name. Not in Mary’s name. He rightly calls her “woman” not Mother.

We honor Mary by not worshipping her. You DISHONOR Mary by worshipping her. You DISHONOR God too by disobeying His commands and worshipping others other than God Himself. Prayer is also part of worship. If you argue that it is not a prayer to Mary, see my previous post where i have copied a prayer to Mary. RCC have taught you to say it is not a prayer to Mary. It is evident that it is.

Who is the One resurrected and Alive from the grave? Jesus or Mary?

Jesus is the only one who was raised from teh dead. He went as our forerunner.

Mary is dead and buried. Her body is rot in the grave. Her soul is there in heaven. But her body is here. It shows that she is not resurrected. She too is waiting for the resurrection of the saints. Until then, she is sleeping in Christ. A sleeping person cannot hear your prayers nor answer them. Christians pray to the Alive God JEsus Christ. What causes you to rebel against God my friend?

    God bless

  32. Dear friends,
I wonder why some people are so much against Mary. We are not worshiping Mary, we are just asking her help to intercede to the father to do us some favor, because being mother of god and full of grace she is surely holier than anyone of us ( i use is because for Christians bodily death is not end of life but beginning of life) and all of us are related to one another in spirit. and if you think you do not need any intermediary between you and god, then i ask you one question why do you pray for your loved ones, let everyone pray only for his own needs, not of the other. do you think that god will hear your prayer more than his mother who is “full of grace”? do you think that you are more holier than her?

Same is true of praying to any other saints. people who lived much more holier lives than us. what we do to Mary and other saints, like lighting the candles, or offering anything is just a sign of respect for what they were and not worship. don’t you pay respect to your parents when they die, or on their anniversaries, do we not pay homage to martyrs and freedom fighters. All this is not worshiping but acknowledging that what they have done is remembered and respected.

Secondly as far as praying the rosary is concerned. it is a prayer given by Mary herself in one of her appearances to one of the saints. so it would be foolishness to ask reference for it in the Bible. and anyone who is allergic please go through the rosary thoroughly before making any hasty remarks. what we are praying in rosary is nothing but word of god, reflecting on all the major events in Jesus life. So its Christo-centric and not centered around Mary. what is recited again and again is angels words to Mary and Elizabeth’s greeting to Mary. and at the end is a petition “to pray for us at the hour of our death”. so there nothing unbiblical about it. its just prejudice. (Hail Mary Full of Grace the Lord is with you, blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus, holy Mary mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death amen). i m not writing the events here, (decades) please refer any catholic daily prayerbook or search on net to find more about it. and if you still feel it is unnecessary do not pray rosary. but do not condemn those who are doing so.

Thirdly no catholic is doing idol worship, we do not worship the statue but the person whose statue it is. that is Jesus Christ. idol worship is giving place of god to something else, so your mobile could be your idol, or your internet could also be, or your wife, girlfriend, or cricket or job or money. we do not worship idols. if you ask me to break the statue of Jesus i will do it without any hesitation, only thing which may hold me back is the words of the blessing used to bless that statue, the words of the gospel read while blessing and the blessed water used to bless it, only the Word could hold me back, nothing else. it is only to help us to concentrate and pray well. surely praying in a empty hall with nothing around you, you are more prone to be distracted than if you have something to look at or something to imagine about how the person whom i m worship may look like, or looking at the crucifix, what he has done for me? so take out this wrong assumption of worshiping idols and check out in your life, what idol you are worshiping? you may be knowing that god himself asked Moses to make bronze serpent and hang it on the stick so that anyone who look at it may be healed, it was not idol worship, it was prefiguration of Jesus Christ on the cross, anyone who looks at Jesus will be cured of poisonous bite of sin. snake is considered something devilish but still it did not become idol worship because it symbolized not snake but Jesus Christ on the cross. Thank god Catholics are not putting snake on the Cross. ha ha

  33. Thank You, Fr. Johan Paul Gill, Monica, Cheryl and all my Catholic brothers & sisters. Stand tall, walk firm with your heads up high, Jesus holds your hand on each step u take. Hmm, Mother Mary is such a beautiful, wonder, amazing…. woman that so many wants to talk about her….
I love you Mother Mary & I am not ashamed or scared to say it….Wishing u all well over the rest of your Lenten journey.
    God Bless

  34. John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
    I Timothy 2:5
    For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Who don’t people see the truth in the Word of God. We have only one life, and we cannot depend on what others say.. you will get answers to anything you really want to, if you read the Bible sincerely instead of following traditions blindly.
    May God open your eyes.

  35. Please this is a kind request.. All can argue their own views about mary.Bible reveals us so many secrets of Heavenly God. Jesus itself came here to do the Will of the heavenly father. So we clearly warned not to do things that are not in bible.

Answer these questions?? Did Jesus or our heavenly father ever said pray to me through mary. Did apostles do so? They did only through holy spirit. Can’t u people think with some worldly sense. You dont even need even to be a believer to understand this fact.

Clearly its visible in word of God that we have a straight access to God our Jesus Christ then why u want to take a bipass leading by devil very cunningly. Sure after death people who believe in Mary will suffer as she can never help u to be a part of His Kingdom. When u receive the salvation once from Our lord Jesus christ then we are no more sinner. So no more in life u can sin again and live holy until the day of death or the day of coming of Jesus.

Dear friends please dont trial yourself. We are His children and He accepted us when you hold to The Word of God in Bible that will lead you to eternal life. Not any mediator’s prayer.

Catholic teaching says we are sinners and not worthy people so cant pray directly to God so we pray to mary and she will speak to Jesus and convince HIM so we will be saved. Then why did bible says that we are children of God?.Cant you speak directly to Your Father. The fact is she might be with God like other believers but she can never hear our prayer or voice. Catholics think that we are all sinners till death and praying mary will save us. But not to concentrate to live without sin and be worthy in eyes of God as His Own Child. When u do that sincerely till last breath then only we will be saved to enter His Kingdom.

I’m a born catholic and i started analyzing the truth by myself after reading the bible and regular worship.

Pray By using only three terms that Jesus taught us clearly in bible,
    1.In name of Heavenly God
    2.In name of Jesus Christ
3.In name of Holy Spirit of God.

If u pray through any other name or mediator or ambassador then that will be doing the greatest foolishness in the whole of the world.

Please dear brothers and sisters think wise and dont trial your whole of life as u cant do injust to your soul because it belongs to Jesus who bought it through His most valuable Blood.

God Bless you through Jesus Christ. Proclaim only His name For praise and save your soul.

  36. @ vinoth fernando
When u receive the salvation once from Our lord Jesus christ then we are no more sinner. So no more in life u can sin again and live holy until the day of death or the day of coming of Jesus.

Salvation is not a one-time event. sad to know that you are a born catholic and now walking on this dangerous path. This idea is not Biblical…not practical as well.

Sure after death people who believe in Mary will suffer as she can never help u to be a part of His Kingdom.

I am confused when you say “who believe in Mary”
But I can say that those who say anything against Mary or don’t believe in the teaching of the Church about Mary are more likely to suffer. This is my conclusion not judgment.

Catholics think that we are all sinners till death and praying mary will save us. But not to concentrate to live without sin and be worthy in eyes of God as His Own Child. When u do that sincerely till last breath then only we will be saved to enter His Kingdom.

I am confused again when you say “praying Mary”. May be you are referring to “praying Rosary”. Well, praying Rosary can save us from all dangers. Praying Rosary is a means of Salvation not salvation itself.
BTW, Mother Mary has always told, in her apparitions, to live a holy life first.

Pray By using only three terms that Jesus taught us clearly in bible,
    1.In name of Heavenly God
    2.In name of Jesus Christ
3.In name of Holy Spirit of God.

You are a born catholic, how could you forget that the Rosary (not just Rosary but all catholic prayers) starts and ends with the prayer, In the name of The Father and of The Son and of The Holy Spirit.Amen.?

Please dear brothers and sisters think wise and dont trial your whole of life as u cant do injust to your soul because it belongs to Jesus who bought it through His most valuable Blood.

    You are right.

    And save your soul.

I am trying to do my best to save my soul. What about you? Already and always saved?
Alright. So, you got the ticket. Congrts.

  37. oh yeah Vinoth, early christians had Bible with them for reference. St.Paul & others had Bible with them too. People who believed in a Messiah before Jesus born had already read complete Bible too. And yes bro they did not follow any traditions.

    *shrugs*

    John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to THE CHURCH which he created. Not to the one which formed after going away from it. ( No offense)

    Look at this :
Luke 17:23 Men will tell you, ‘There he is!’ or ‘Here he is!’ Do not go running off after them.

What do you say now? It was no doubt about various denominations. And weak faith leads souls to infirmity.

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Holy spirit teaches ALL things to the church.

1 Thessalonians 1:6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost.

    Paul says- followers of us.

1 Cor 11:2 I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I have delivered them to you.

2 Thess 2:15 So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter.

2 Tim 1:13-4Follow the pattern of the sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus; guard the truth that has been entrusted to you by the Holy Spirit who dwells within us.

2 Tim 2:2and what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

(Teaching others — not all truths are evident to us. We need others help who have known to lead the life taught by Christ. Perhaps that’s why we came to this blog. To know something more)

Phillipians 4:9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

(St.Paul followed traditions. Well, well even Jesus did. )

2 Thessalonians 3:6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

Also Jesus taught by word of mouth and example. Not everything he taught is written in the New Testament. In fact: “Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written” (John 21:25).

    Matt7 :
15“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16“You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? 17“So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18“A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19“Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20“So then, you will know them by their fruits.

21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’

    The Two Foundations

24“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25“And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26“Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27“The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”

    –Notice: “founded on the rock”

    Matthew 16:18 (King James Version)

18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Name changes in Bible are very significant, if you are gonna argue Jesus meant Peter’s faith as rock. Refer name changes to Abram, Saul, Jacob.

To many other questions regarding our mother, I guess protestants do believe in original sin. (I’m not sure) If you do, and meditate on that you will understand a lot.

Finally, Mother Mary was alive during the time of Apostles.

And for the umpteenth time Catholics don’t worship Mother Mary.

    Peace.

  38. Dear catholic brothers and sisters:

Only Bible is our rule book…a book written only with the inspiration of Holy Spirit and Holy Spirit is the spirit of Almighty God. Everybody considers Mary as a blessed and holy lady but where you go wrong is you consider her as your intercessor to God whereas it is written several times in bible that Jesus is our only intercessor. Brethren please find out in the bible if Jesus ever said that Mary will be your intercessor to me or the Almightily God. You all remember the feast of unleavened bread when Jesus had his last supper with his disciples whereas as written in the Old Testament the feast of unleavened bread was to be celebrated with your own family. Why didn’t Jesus go to Mary and his other siblings to celebrate that feast? Why did he consider his disciples to be his family? Please read Matthew 12:46-50 while he was talking to the crowd somebody came and said your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you and Jesus replied who is my mother and who is my brother and then further said whoever does the will of my father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother. What I want to say is for Jesus earthly relations were not so important for him but for him every one who fulfills the will of God is his mother, his brother, and his sisters.

Please also read Mark 3:21 which says “And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for they were saying, “He is out of his mind.” and John 7:5 says “his brothers also didn’t believe in him.”

Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” I again request you to go through the bible, stop thinking in earthly manner. Mary will always be a holy lady chosen person of God in our sight but when you put her on God’s place by praying to her you are actually committing a sin. Now a days, I am fervently praying for all my catholic brothers and sisters that Holy Spirit open their spiritual eyes and they can seek God in the way bible tells us to do.

  39. well wrote preethi
all debates, confusions, heresies and uncertainities come to an end when the Church gives the answers.
because of these bible readers and liberal interpreters the Church, the Body of Jesus has divided into thousands of bodies.

    one thing i can understand
we say we dont worship Mary or statues.
but they are going on saying that we do.

i ask them. can you look into my heart, mind and soul? do you know for 100% sure what my intentions, feelings or emotions are when i kneel down before a statue? say yes or no.

if yes, then i will solemnly accept your advice.
if no, then think once again and pray for yourself first if you really want to save catholics.

  40. I have a question.
About the apparitions of Mary, it always talks about praying the rosary. I t encourages us to pray the rosary. I really don’t get it. Jesus should have stopped Mary, since it is only Him who is the mediator. But He let Mary do the apparition and tell people to pray the rosary.
    Can someone answer me?

  41. Dear Manish & every body,
God’s relationship with Mary is not just earthly. Remember the prophecies made in the Old Testament about The Virgin. Pls take your Bible and read it carefully no where it is mentioned a virgin. It is always “The Virgin” She was chosen to be the Mother of God.

And people please answer the posts #291 #292(need not put them down here you may even answer them in your hearts).

    Yours is CHRIST,
    George.

  42. Cant ppl open their eyes and see this prayer to Mary posted in Coment #276?

    MARY,MY MOTHER
EMPTY THE BLESSING OF YOUR SPIRIT UPON ME.
WHEN MY HEART IS HARD AND PARCHED UP
COME UPON ME WITH A SHOWER OF MERCY.
WHEN MY BEGGARLY HEART SITS CROUCHED
    SHUT UP IN A CORNER
    BREAK UPON THE DOOR…
WHEN DESRIRE BLINDS THE MIND WITH DELUSION/DUST
    O THOU HOLY ONE,THOU WAKEFUL
COME WITH THY LIGHT AND THUNDER.
    AMEN.

    luv u Mother…luv u soooo…much..:-)

Replace the words of Mother Mary with Jesus and God the Father? It turns out to be a prayer.

So the original text – is a prayer TO Mary. It is also a worship to Mary. I cant believe if the Catholics want to argue that they DONT pray to Mary. THere are numerous Catholic teachings which defend the prayer TO Mary. I dont know then why some Catholics tell that they dont pray to Mary! So there are now TWO catholics – one saying they Pray to Mary and defend it. The second group saying, they dont pray but still do the same thing as the first.

Yes – catholics Pray to Mary, No doubt about that. By praying to Mary, they worship Mary. See how the Roman paganists have incited these false straight from hell erroneous teachings into the church! They knew that Christianity was un-stoppable. So they induced these practices to the early church. Thats why none of these Praying to Mary or such catholic tachings are not Found in the word of God.

Now – catholics have been taught to argue that there was no bible in the beginning. What the apostles taught, they wrote. All scripture is God-breathed. Yet you say those teachings are missing or lost from the epistles? how big a deceit you have been taught.

    Look thru the Bible.
WHo is the Only ONe who promised to be with you?
    Jesus.

Who is the Only One who promised to hear your prayers?
    Jesus.

Who is the Only one who suffered and died for you?
    Jesus.

Who is the Only One who promised that you can see the Father “thru Me”?
    Jesus.

Still – you dishonor Jesus and turn a blind eye on His purpose of sufferings and turn to others? to Mary? to those idols? how long will you continously rebel against God?

You cannot speak to Mary as you could a friend. Yet you say both are same! What!

Whereas God said – do not worship the idols, NOR bow down to them.
Yet Catholics – how long will you mock the word of God and go against it?

Read the Bible and seek the answers for your faith. If you say that Bible is incomplete and doesnt have that, that means you made Jesus Christ and His teachings incomplete. What more of a disgrace could you do?

    God guide you.

  43. Ntoppo says:
i ask them. can you look into my heart, mind and soul? do you know for 100% sure what my intentions, feelings or emotions are when i kneel down before a statue? say yes or no.

Your actions are reflective enough of your intentions. Are you trying to fool God?

With your logic, i can do even more. I can strike a knife at someone (and he dies) and say, my intention was expermental. I didnt know he would die. What value it has in the court of law? Big NOTHING. This is a very ridiculous statement.

  44. Galatians 4:4

4 But when the time had fully come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law

Paul specifically tells – woman. This is of course reference to Mary.

Read Genesis 3: 15 and understand ” seed of THE Woman” and kind of blessing mentioned. And the prophesy of crucifixion .

Understand John 2:2-5 about marriage at Cana and John 19:25-27 at Calvary and the woman who was given as the mother.

Read Revelation 12 – and understand “the woman” mentioned there. Understand its relevance with resurrection & ascension of Jesus to heaven. But before that there is the mention of the birth. (It is about her other offspring who keep the laws). Can you connect it with John 19:25- 27 when Jesus gave “The woman” as the mother of her loving disciple? Are we Christians who keep His laws of God are lovable to Him? So isn’t THE WOMAN our mother?

Did Jesus’ mission started at Cana? was Mary there? Did Jesus mission ended at Calvary? Was Mary there? Had Simeon said something to Mary?

    Luke 2:34-35
34 and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is spoken against 35 (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that thoughts out of many hearts may be revealed.”

    Also note that- “His mother”

Mary is indeed Jesus’ Mother and our spiritual mother whom Jesus gave us at the Calvary.

How many references does one really requires?!
    There are many more!!

  45. Michelle,

The rosary, when properly prayed, recounts the life of Jesus. Here are the mysteries:

Joyful: 1)Annunciation 2)Visitation 3)Christ’s birth 4)Presentation in the Temple 5)Finding Christ in the Temple at age 12.

Luminous: 1)Christ’s Baptism 2)The Wedding at Cana 3)The Proclamation of the Kingdom 4)The Transfiguration 5)The Last Supper

Sorrowful: 1)Christ’s agony in the Garden 2)Christ being scourged 3)Christ being crowned with thorns 4)Christ carrying the cross 5)Crucifixion

    Glorious: 1)The Resurrection 2)Ascention 3)Pentacost 4)The Assumption of Mary 5)Her Coronation

Of all the mysteries, only 2 are directly aimed at Mary.

Those things which we are meant to come away with as we contemplate on each set of mysteries are:

Joyful:Humily, Love of Neighbor, Spiritual Poverty, Purity, Obedience.
Luminous:Gratitude for faith, faithfulness, holiness, Spiritual Courage/Fortitude, Love of Christ in the Eucharist
Sorrowful: Doing God’s Will, Mortification of what causes us to sin, Reign of Christ, Patience, Forgiveness
Glorious: Faith, Hope, Gift of the Spirit, Letting Mary lead us to Christ, Final perseverence.

Mary possessed all of these things throughout her own earthly pilgrimage, that’s why we ask her to lead us to her Son and why we pray the ‘Hail Mary’. Essentially, we are asking her to teach us to faithful follow Christ as she did. The number 10, signifies completeness or wholeness. By praying the ‘Hail Mary’ ten times per each set of mysteries, we are praying that God grants us through Mary, complete and total, faith, hope, love of neighbor, ect. God grants everything through Mary, because it was through Mary, everything (in the person of Christ) came to us. In other words, it’s an acknowledgement of the Incarnation. Mary plays a prominent role in our lives, because the Incarnation plays the most prominent role in our lives.

  46. Preethi,

I’m impressed! You’re the only other person, beside an author I read many yrs ago, to connect Rev 12 with the resurrection and ascension. Awesome! A very impressive post.

  47. Dani,

    MARY,MY MOTHER
EMPTY THE BLESSING OF YOUR SPIRIT UPON ME.
WHEN MY HEART IS HARD AND PARCHED UP
COME UPON ME WITH A SHOWER OF MERCY.
WHEN MY BEGGARLY HEART SITS CROUCHED
    SHUT UP IN A CORNER
    BREAK UPON THE DOOR…
WHEN DESRIRE BLINDS THE MIND WITH DELUSION/DUST
    O THOU HOLY ONE,THOU WAKEFUL
COME WITH THY LIGHT AND THUNDER.
    AMEN.

Let’s put this in a more earthly setting.

“Mom”, asked Kelly one day, “Can we talk?”
“Sure Honey”, her Mom sweetly replied, “What’s on your mind?”
Kelly sighed, “I’ve had a really rough day, can you sit with me for awhile?”
Kelly snuggles up against her mom, who joined her on the couch.
“Ah, everytime I’m with you, I feel so comforted. You’ve been such a blessing to me Mom. You give and give and give of yourself. How do you have anything left?!”
“I’m your mother…it’s what mothers do”
“Mom, if you hadn’t been here when I got home, I think I would have gone straight to my room, shut the door and hid under the covers!”
“And I would have broke open that door and sat by your bed!”
At that they both began to laugh. Her mother continued,
“I’ll always be here for you darling. You’ll always be my baby. By God’s grace, I’ll always watch over you, protecting you, sparing you from the world’s delusions.Sleep now. Let the day’s trouble sweep away like dust. I have you in my arms. Rest.”
“You’re my light mom and my thunder”
They both laughed again, this time quietly, remembering the times Kelly’s mom would yell from the apartment balcony to the street below, “Watch out for that car Kelly!”, “John, leave Kelly alone, before I call your mother!” “Kelly, did you scrape your knee?” “Come up for dinner…I have a whole pot of Chili!”
“Everyone in the neighborhood could hear you Mom! But you always looked out for me, although I think you scared little Johnny half-to-death!”
“He wasn’t too scared to come over for supper and empty 4 bowls of chili!”
“You always looked out for me mom. You’d even stay awake til 10 at night, to make sure I had gotten home okay from the school football games. How much sleep you must have lost over me!”
“I will always look out for you Kelly. Sleep now. Your head will clear and you’ll feel refreshed if you can sleep.”
    “I can.”
And with that Kelly fell asleep in her mother’s arms.

  48. @Dani,
ok brother, this time you answered me in a sensible manner. but sorry to say that my question is still unanswered. it could be just yes or no.

Dani- Your actions are reflective enough of your intentions.

yes, this is true to some extent.
    “you do what you think”
    ok, fine.
but the point is- only God knows what we REALLY think.

it is not necessary that your actions ALWAYS reflect your ACTUAL intentions. this is a psychological fact. e.g. a worker who is honest and hardworking thinks that his motivation is to serve people and his company. but his actual intentions can be being praised or getting promotions.

you may think that you have given Jesus the first place in your heart. but this is what you think, not a fact. God only knows the fact.

we are confident that praying rosary or showing special honor and love to her is not idolatory, not because we think it’s not. but because the Church is our guide.(do i need to say that the Holy Spirit guides the Church?)

    BTW
i have some verses if you would like to reflect on

Proverb:21:2: Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.
M’t:9:4: And Jesus knowing their thoughts said,
1Jo:3:20: For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

there is a possibility that a person would place Mary above God. but i will object, if you say that every catholic does the same.
