Why should we pray to Virgin Mary? The reasons are many.
Why do Catholics pray to Mother Mary? Is Rosary really powerful?
The intercession of Mother Mary is very powerful as Jesus cannot neglect His mothers commands. This can be proved by the first miracle Jesus did at the wedding at Cana. – (John 2:1-11). Mother Mary told Jesus “They have no more wine.” And what was the final result? He turned water into wine.
In “The Poem of the Man-God” by Maria Valtorta, she says that Jesus told her about this incident as “I did it for Mary”. This proves that the intercession of Mother Mary is very very strong.
Mother Mary was blessed with Holy Spirit abundantly. We can see this as we read “At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.” (Luke 1:39-41) ; just by Virgin Mary’s greeting.
Listen to the talk from Apologetics on Mary, Purgatory and The Bible
What the angels thought on this matter:-
When angel appeared before Zechariah, father of John, angel just greets him by his name ,nothing more although he was “upright in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commandments and regulations blamelessly.” – (Luke 1:6)
When angel appeared before Joseph, the greeting was like this: “an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.” – (Matthew 1:20). Angel greeted him ‘son of david’, thats all.
Now let us see how did the angel greet Virgin Mary. It goes like this: “The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” (Luke 1:28). See the difference….

@joeli:
I see you are snared with a cult group tlig.org run by an insane woman called Vasula Ryden who is mentally unsound. The Vatican has officially banned this idiot. See the EWTN website http://www.ewtn.com/library/curia/cdfrydn1.htm.
My friend joeli.. you a embroiled in a cult setup and totally brain-washed by those stupid messages from a mentally uns-sound woman.
God have mercy on you …
@Joeli,
The greatest miracle of all……is that a man or woman would pass from death to life….there is no greater miracle….
If you live in Roma church you wont get this. I came to know this after reading the ‘Catholic Bible’.
Thanks God I am no more with this cult, pagan church
God bless you Joeli
Some are chosen by God to do the good works, and for salvation. It included many people from the begining, and how ever they were falling even when they were guided by spirit of GOD.
And when it comes to matter of Mother Mary, she was proclaimed from prior sprictures and became main person in fulfilling GOD’s plan.
Mother mary who is queen of saints will keep on praying for you and for me.
We indeed ask Mother Mary to keep on praying for us>
According to scriptures:
God said
“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.†Jeremiah 33:3
“And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.†Psalm 50:15
Which is absolutly perfect.
This is may not be fulfilled by a sinner man and we as a human may not stand al the time perfect and keep on praying.
How ever Intercession of saints and Angels Who always Keep on worshipping and praising God< will include our intensions in it.
And amoung all the saints Mother Mary is queen and most convinced saint to GOD.
Through her intensive prayers you can get answears from God.
Caution: Mother Mary is been Respected and Praised, but not Worshipped.
God is being Worshipped by her intense prayes.
Jesus is the only way , the only truth and life no man comes to the father but through Jesus NOT Mary. But we respect Mary as Jesus earthly mother.
Krishneel Gounder
@ Moses,
You said “Mother mary who is queen of saints will keep on praying for you and for me.”
Where in Bible written she is queen of saints? Why Paul,Peter & John not mentioning their queen in their letters?
You said “We indeed ask Mother Mary to keep on praying for us”
Who said the above in Bible?
Do you know who is praying for us?
Read the below verses
John 17:15
I am not asking you to remove them from the world, but to protect them from the Evil One.
Jesus is praying
John 15 : 16
You did not choose me, no, I chose you; and I commissioned you to go out and to bear fruit, fruit that will last; so that the Father will give you anything you ask him in my name.
We can ask directly in the name of Jesus
You said “And among all the saints Mother Mary is queen and most convinced saint to GOD.”
Where it is written she is queen of heaven?
God bless you
ha……ha…ha…..my dear catholics you are all great…..are you(catholics) stating your posts from bible itself…anyway i doubt….and it seems
to be having no logic….to me(well i think am younger than you all….juz cmpleted 19)..but i know the scriptures…and i know the truth….
you people do one thing….
just tell us the 10 commandments…everything is in it….
Spirit guides when you are obedient to God.
Can you tel me why God planned salvation through mary…
Can you tel Why God has chosen mother Mary only..
Can you tel why Jesus was born to Virgin mother only..
Even Jesus showed Mother Mary to his disciples and said, this is your mother, and to diciples he showed mother mary and said she is your mother…
@moses daniel:
God (according to His will and not Mary’s) chose Mary as a partaker in the salvation process – a human vessel, the same how is he chose the 12 Apostles – they were all chosen by God, something they could not refuse.
You too can be spiritually born again and be a partaker of God’s ongoing plan of Salvation. In the body of Christ, no one is above (including Mary) each other with only Christ being the Head of His Church.
I see your interpretation of God choosing Mary, suggests its something unique – which is wrong. Even if Mary refused to be part of the planned salvation, do you think God’s planned salvation would come to a “screeching – halt” ??? NO!! . So, why do you single out only Mary as unique??
In reference to what Jesus said “Woman, behold thy son!” and “Behold thy mother!” – here read carefully in John 19:26-27, that Jesus is speaking to the beloved John the Apostle and Mary knowing he going to die on the cross So he (Jesus) exhorts that both of them to look after each other. The end of verse 19:27 further states – “And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home”. So Jesus simply told the both of them to look after each other as “Mother” and “Son”. Please read the scriptures carefully and simply don’t pull out a single verse and blow it out of context just like how a magician pulls out a rabbit from his hat.
Your biblical sounding name also doesn’t seem to “gel” well with interpretation of the scriptures. :=x
Only Jesus is the “gate” to heaven (John 14:6). All Christians honor Mary, but not “worship” her as a co-mediatrix/co-remptrix. Besides only Jesus (NOT Mary) died on the cross to take away my sin with his precious blood.
God Bless you.
GOD is pleased with your obidience towards him, thats the only option where in you will be chosen for great works of GOD.
We Praise God, only GOD and the Holy trinity..
We ask for intercession of saints and amoung that Mother Mary takes high priority…
Thus, in Psalm 103 we pray, “Bless the Lord, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his word, hearkening to the voice of his word! Bless the Lord, all his hosts, his ministers that do his will!” (Ps. 103:20–21). And in the opening verses of Psalms 148 we pray, “Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise him in the heights! Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his host!”
Not only do those in heaven pray with us, they also pray for us. In the book of Revelation, John sees that “the twenty-four elders [the leaders of the people of God in heaven] fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints” (Rev. 5:8). Thus the saints in heaven offer to God the prayers of the saints on earth.
Angels do the same thing: “[An] angel came and stood at the altar [in heaven] with a golden censer; and he was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar before the throne; and the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God” (Rev. 8:3–4).
Jesus himself warned us not to offend small children, because their guardian angels have guaranteed intercessory access to the Father: “See that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven” (Matt. 18:10).
Because he is the only God-man and the Mediator of the New Covenant, Jesus is the only mediator between man and God (1 Tim. 2:5), but this in no way means we cannot or should not ask our fellow Christians to pray with us and for us (1 Tim. 2:1–4). In particular, we should ask the intercession of those Christians in heaven, who have already had their sanctification completed, for “[t]he prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects” (Jas. 5:16).
Mary sanctifies the greatest man (John the Baptist) while he is still in the womb
Luke 1:15:for he will be great before the Lord, and he shall drink no wine nor strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.
Luke 1:41:And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit
Mary’s Blessed Fruit
Luke 1:42:and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!
Luke 6:43-44: For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit; for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thorns, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush.
Mary is the Mother of God
Luke 1:43:And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
Mary’s need of a savior
Luke 1:47: and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
Most Blessed Woman of all time
Luke 1:48: for he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed;
Revelation 11:19-12:1:Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple; and there were flashes of lightning, voices, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail.And a great portent appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars;
Dear Moses,
Can you prove Revelation 12:1 is Mother Mary. If you can prove that woman is Mary, I am ready to offer you my 4×4 car.
I will wait for your answer.
God bless you
@moses daniel
I see the problem with majority of Catholics is that the proverbial always comes to mind: Barking up the wrong tree!. And this too applies to you. You rely on your human interpretation and not what the Word of God commands you. If you are truly a child of God, you will abide and be obedient to his Holy Word (the scriptures).
Yes while we are still alive on this earth, we can intercede and pray for one another, but we are not sure whether those who have passed from this life can anwswer prayers. There is no proof. The scripture says we shall worship God alone and his only begotten Son (Jesus) through whom we look to for our salavtion and eternal life as He is the only mediator between God and man. In the Gospel of Mathew Jesus teaches his disciples to Pray to the Father in the name of Jesus. Jesus did not say to channelise prayers to his mother or any other.
Again, if we love God and we are Children of God, we must not jump to our own human conclusions or human reasoning/teachings, but be obedient to the Word of God. If the Bible says so.. then obey, because its the Word of God. If we start using our own reasoning then we are telling God He is a liar and we don’t care what He commands us to do.
God’s planned salvation is only through Christ Jesus. Jesus died on the cross in my place to give me eternal life. Neither Mary nor any other person atoned for my sin or could do so. If Jesus did not die on the cross, then the event of the Virgin Mary being blessed would be “useless”. Jesus had to die for us as it is God’s planned salvation for mankind. Without the shedding of his precious blood, mankind would be doomed. He is the only source of eternal life, and no one else can provide that.
Therefore why waste time looking elsewhere instead of looking to Jesus? Didn’t his very own Mother say in John chapter 2 – “do as he says”?
For our eternal destiny we must be looking looking only to Jesus for salvation – a monotheistic view instead of a pantheistic view.
Now i understand that, these are the significance of the second coming of LORD JESUS.All what I want
now is,to be Prepared for HIM according to HIS own WORDS.
Thanks everybody.
Oh my poor human beings.
why don’t you understand the value of life on the whole world. you people thing that only Christians must live eternally in the kingdom of GOD? No no. GOD Loves all equally. anyone can go to heaven easily. there are short cuts. i have such one. LISTEN, one day after my prayer i was sleeping with a lot of burden in my heart. because most of my relatives are still non Christians. under a lot of hope that i may have a good answer tonight, i slept. in my sleep i had beautiful vision. a lovely lady appeared and spoke to me.”My son, you worry a lot about your people and pray for them every day to my son JESUS. don’t you know I am, being a lady and a mother is more merciful than him. ask me what you want, because I am mother of GOD. mother of the creator of the Heaven and Earth. spouse of THE HOLY SPIRIT. i have power over all. they must obey to my command. do not worry, go to your Hindu neighbor, or the Muslim brother, borrow his chain with beads, roll it continually chanting rosary. do the same like a nursery student singing rhyme whenever you want my help”.
She smiled at me and continued “I am the one who never sleeps. I am the one who listen to all prayer. my presence will be there where ever two or three gather in my name. I will do anything you ask in my name. demons fear to my name. sick will be cured in my name. my name is above all name. I too am the way, the truth, and the life. there is salvation through me too. if it is not me, there will be no JESUS. if I don’t exist nothing exist. Without me the LORD is impotent”. she paused and looked at me pleasingly. sooo lovely her face was. very merciful her eyes were. she started again ,”dear boy, whatever you read in the BIBLE are not enough for you. it is incomplete .and I have authority to interpret the Law of GOD. people who keep strong faith in me, I give them the same authority.” “Listen my boy” she continued with a soft pitch.”Before the world was created, THE WORD already existed in me. it is not THE WORD became human being, but my flesh and blood. haven’t you see his Glory, the Glory which he received as my only son”.
“Look my son ,do not fear about your family and friend’s future. have faith in me. I can take care all of you, just chant the rosary repeatedly like a cycle, you will be in heaven. even if you are not reborn, your heart with full dirt ,sin ,curse, vengeance, jealous, lust, pride, or you are a drunkard i will take care. you can pray for the dead one too. do not look in the BIBLE for reference regarding this. it was given by mare humans. they make mistakes. it contain wrong words .even you can correct it however it pleases to you. I’ll give you the authority if you keep full faith in me. I am the queen of Heaven, means the wife of the King of Heaven. keep my advises in your heart, if you want to be in heaven follow me. my path is very broad, and my son JESUS’s path is very narrow. Choice is yours, take what you feel better”. soon after this vision, I got confused. Take it or not.
Anyway the next day, I packed all my BIBLE and BIBLE related Books and kept on the attic. I said my self “go easy boy, after all she was mother of GOD”. Try this my dear Christians and non Christians. Everybody like short cuts.
Hello my dear Christians, Refer, Refer, Refer whenever someone preaches, teaches, quotes, posts, or for any spiritual matters, just Refer your BIBLE. If you people think that, whatever you say are correct then I say that, most of the BIBLE words are utterly lies. Tell me, to whom one must believe? THE BIBLE or you? Don’t just turn back to GOD, but SURRENDER TO HIM.
GOD BLESS ALL.
@ tonsil:
Three reasons why in this world the majority are RC ..
1.) Read Mathew 7:13-14
2.) It has been a sort of family tradition passed down innocently from generation to generation with a blind eye towards the truth. I baptise my children who become members of the RCC. In turn my children baptise their children .. and so on it continues to this day.
3.) The RC Church is satan’s baby, so he (satan) as ensnared millions of catholics globally with false hoods, deception, lies, murders, and most of all a counterfeit gospel not according to Jesus Christ, but according to Rome. All these pretty packaged and disguised to the un-suspecting lay faithful to lead a peaceful life albeit in perpetual bondage.
@ Shyla (#1166)
You certainly did have a strange intoxicated dream of a “female” seducing spirit giving you new revelations.
1 Timothy 4:1 – Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.
To Nathaniel Fernandes,
I pray for you
” Father forgive them for they do not know what they do(speak)”
I recommend all the angels and saints to pray along with me, to ask forgiveness to those who are speaking out of ignorance..
@tonsil – I see you need to study church history and the emergence of the catholic church, and the dark middle ages. To come to the truth, we have to learn from past mistakes so as not to get deceived. We must come to the truth. You need to study the book of Revelation and find out who is the apostate church that is built on the 7 hills. I pray for you as i care about your soul.
@Moses Daniel – I pray for you too. Hope the Almighty and the true living God enlightens you with wisdom just as how he entrusted His servant Moses and Daniel the prophet for his glory. That the veil of darkness covering your eyes be cast away.
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Every Blessings..
Dear Nathaniel Fernandes,
Please read #1166 carefully, you may come to know what i really meant there. my preferred food is word of GOD. my intoxication is HOLY SPIRIT and my destination is KINGDOM OF GOD. I never ever degrade, defame or make inferior my SAVIOR JESUS to any power. My above posting may be foolish, Because I could not cry reading all above postings. I could not laugh, could not show my anger either, how shall I show my feelings to those who worship baals in the name of Mary who is peacefully sleeping in JESUS? how shall I show my spiritual anger to those who honor mare humans (George already agreed to that) and the dead ones instead of JESUS who is solely eligible?
so I made this crazy story so at least who ever reads THE BIBLE properly can understand the promises which was given by the lady are really not by the lady but by our LORD JESUS CHRIST. are the Christians aware of this –mat5:18, mat24:35, mark13:31, luke16:17, luke21:31– words of JESUS? will the Christians take care of this–1John2:17 word of GOD?
I pray THE HOLY SPIRIT to lead them .
In the name of JESUS, AMEN.
@Moses, I am still waiting for the answer for the #1163& 1158
@Shyla & tonsil, read the bible ( not selective verses )and come here . Dont follow the religions. Religions will not going to save you. Follow religionless jesus.
Mary is not our Mediator, Rosary not going to help us because its not in bible.
Man- made inventions wont help you for the salvation.
Wakeup dear friends…
@Shyla- do you know 15 promises of rosary is against the word of god!
If any catholic rosary specialists here in forum.. pl come forward I can prove those are against the bible.
ACTS 4
Peter and John Before the Sanhedrin
4 The priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to Peter and John while they were speaking to the people. 2 They were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching the people, proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead. 3 They seized Peter and John and, because it was evening, they put them in jail until the next day. 4 But many who heard the message believed; so the number of men who believed grew to about five thousand.
5 The next day the rulers, the elders and the teachers of the law met in Jerusalem. 6 Annas the high priest was there, and so were Caiaphas, John, Alexander and others of the high priest’s family. 7 They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: “By what power or what name did you do this?â€
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers and elders of the people! 9 If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame and are being asked how he was healed, 10 then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 11 Jesus is
“‘the stone you builders rejected,
which has become the cornerstone.’[a]
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.â€
13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. 14 But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say.
I invite you to read ACTS.
And Could someone please tell me where says that I can pray to Virgin Mary or to Any Saint?
Are they in every place?
Are they know all?
Are they can everything?
Babu, brother dear,
Yes, I am Christian, and proud to be Catholic! Like Ralph, Mike, and Joeli!
I do not know where did you get your lineage being Christian?
Your understanding of Scripture betrays your position being dull and empty of knowledge about Mary’s glories.
I am glad you open your argument as I quote (If Mary conceived without sin, then we have to assume her parents also sinless people , if her parents are sinless then Mary’s grandparents also sinless ………). This brother, is a false argument, way off the issue.
Since you are just nit picking I will help you locate where did you base your argument; Romans 5,â€that all humans have shared in original sin.
Mary Immaculate
The Immaculate Conception is a Catholic dogma that asserts that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was preserved by God from the stain of original sin at the time of her own conception.
Let me start my defense using the material used “that all humans have shared in original sins†(Romans 5).Paul knows that this statement is not absolute he knows there are exemptions to every rule. Otherwise, he will not contradict himself what he had written in Hebrew 4:15, “though he is without sin†and 1Jn.3:5 “and that in him there is no sinâ€.
In the gospel of John, when Jesus was engaged in a verbal tussle with the unbelieving Jews (John 8:46), He said, “Can one of you convict me of sin? Did anyone among his oppositions or listeners answer the challenged? There was none!
Jesus became incarnate of the Virgin Mary, she must be completely free from sin or original sin to bear the Son of God, and Mary is redeemed by the grace of Christ in a perfect manner than any other human beings. Christ cannot have the flesh of His Father in heaven for God is Spirit, so He took His flesh from Mary something not possible without divine intervention.
Martin Luther writes in reference to the Mother of God. Is Christ only to be adored? Or is the holy Mother of God rather not to be honored? This is the woman who crushed the Serpent’s head. Hear us. For your Son denies you nothing.
In 1Jn.4:2; “You can tell the spirits that come from God by this: every spirit which acknowledges that Jesus the Christ has come in the flesh (from Woman) is from God; but any spirit which will not say this of Jesus is not from God; but is the spirit of the Antichrist, whose coming you are warned about. Well, now he is here, in the world.
Be for warned brother, Babu!
How about Mary’s conception with her parents? In the same manner when Jesus was conceived by Mary the same thing happened to her as what the article of one Ralph had just shared to us last #1126, April 24th. I suggest you read it bro. Babu and invoke the Holy Spirit so that it may guide you for the benefit of your soul. If you are true to the conviction of searching for truth do not limit yourself only to the Bible, Jesus had said, the whole world cannot contain if all will be written but still we are lucky that there were history writings of our fore fathers that have been preserved for reference purposes like the material shared to us by Ralph.
There are still more passages in the scripture Babu that you failed to digest but in the meantime I think this is enough to re direct your one way minded street. I have one thing I admired from you Babu, you are very proud of your 4×4 vehicle challenging everyone to defeat your stand of Rev.12:1.Hmm… Just like the Pharisees of the old days huh! Parading their knowledge and contesting anyone who differs to their opinion and offering material thing (like the 30 pieces of silver) to show case your superiority of the words of scripture.
Jesus king mercy I trust in you. Oh, Mary conceived without sin pray for us who have recourse to thee!
@Tonsil
you said’ God won’t stop revealing to us. if god reveals something in this century will it be written in the bible.’
where in bible written that mother Mary going to appear all over the world?
Did jesus say that we need to follow and believe these apparitions?
where it is written mary is queen of heaven?
where it is written mary is the co mediator?
where it is written she is the mother of church?
where it is written we need a father called pope?
where is written Mary conceived without sin?
As per Bible all are sinned including Mary and pope.
where it is written we must pray rosary?
where it is written if we wear scapular we will go to heaven?
where it is written that if we visit Lourde we can escape from purgatory?
God bless you. Open the bible and check
@Celestino,
You didn’t prove that Rev12:1 is Mary.
Hope you know 15 promises of Rosary. All those directly violating word of god.
Pl prove Rev 12:1 is Mary.
Best of luck
@Tonsil & Celestino
Can you show me one verse saying Mary is our co-mediator?
I don’t know how you people hold the vain belief that Mary assumed to heaven.
Moses pleaded to Lord and the Lord changed his mind
After the death of Moses, did Bible record anywhere that Moses still pleading to Lord?
Pray to living Jesus, not to the dead rotten bodies.
My dear friends,
Today many of our christian brothers are doing Miracles in name of Jesus, this is not written any where in bible by each name…
Similar way of saints
When any one say about your own mother, how you will get anger?
Carefull brothers, if some one says about mother of Jesus, even Jesus gets angry
Dont make Jesus angry for this reason..
Even Jesus was born as flesh to his mother, who was spirit prone, also mother carried him in her womb for 9 months..
My dear ones, just clarify me?
Is it a big deal for God to get his son on earth directly why it was not done..
Please answear me..
I’m not saying only Mother mary is reason, but< God chose her and we must respect her…
The Rosary Which we pray are the Words spoken by Holy spirit
"Hail mary full of Grace, the Lord is with you, Blessed are you amoung women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus"
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you.
Luke 1:28 "And coming to her, he said, "Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you."
The Greek kecharitomene means favored by grace, graced. Its tense suggests a permanent state of being "highly favored," thus full of grace. Charity, the divine love within us, comes from the same root. God is infinite Goodness, infinite Love. Mary is perfect created goodness, filled to the limit of her finite being with grace or charity.
Blessed art thou among women
Luke 1:41-42a "When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, "Most blessed are you among women…"
Luke 1:48 "For he has looked upon his handmaid's lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed."
Among all women is a way to say the highest/greatest etc. of a group in Semitic languages (these words would likely have been spoken in Aramaic). Mary is being called the greatest of all women, greater than Ruth, greater than Sarah, greater than EVE! Since Eve was created immaculate (without original sin), Mary must have been conceived immaculate. And, although Eve fell into sin by her own free will, Mary must have corresponded to God's grace and remained sinless. She could not otherwise be greater than Eve. Thus, as the Fathers of the Church unanimously assert, Mary is the New Eve who restores womanhood to God's original intention and cooperates with the New Adam, her Son, for the Redemption of the world.
Blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus
Luke 1:42b "and blessed is the fruit of your womb."
Jesus is Mary's fruit. Good fruit does not come from anything but a good tree (Mt. 7:17-18)! The all-holy Son of God could not be the fruit of any other tree than the Immaculate Virgin.
Holy Mary, Mother of God
Luke 1:43 "And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
Kyrios is the Greek word used by the Jews in the Septuagint Bible (Greek translation) for Yhwh, the Divine Name of God. In her greeting of Mary, Elizabeth is saying: "How is it that the mother of my God should come to me." Against the heresies of the 4th and 5th centuries which tried to split the Person of Jesus into two, divine and human, denying one or the other, the Council of Ephesus in 431 AD proclaimed Mary Theotokos (God-bearer, i.e. mother of God). Jesus is a single Person, a Divine Person, the 2nd Person of the Most Holy Trinity. To be mother of the Person Jesus is to be mother of a Person who is God. Mary's title protects this truth against errors which emphasize or deny, either the divinity or humanity of the Lord.
Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Luke 2:35 "…and you yourself a sword will pierce so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed."
John 2:5 "His mother said to the servers, "Do whatever he tells you."
Mary sees a need and appeals to Her Son to satisfy it. He does. We turn to Mary to ask her to intercede with her Son in our daily spiritual and material needs, but especially at the hour of our death. At that moment our salvation hangs in the balance as the devil makes his final foray to deter us from the path to God (Rev. 2:10). It is not surprising, therefore, that both the Hail Mary and the Our Father conclude with an appeal to be delivered from the evil one.
Dear Nathaniel Fernandes
I need answear for following:

Quiz Time: Questions for Catholics
Here below are the two very simple quiz questions. Appreciate very much if either Tonsil, Celestino or Moses Daniel or all three should respond to either one or both:
1.) What was the “core” purpose Jesus to come into the world as Son of God in-carnate in the “flesh”?
2.) How can we identify a “cult” religion?
Good Luck…

—- The Riot in Ephesus
ACTS 19.
23 About that time there arose a great disturbance about the Way. 24 A silversmith named Demetrius, who made silver shrines of Artemis, brought in a lot of business for the craftsmen there. 25 He called them together, along with the workers in related trades, and said: “You know, my friends, that we receive a good income from this business. 26 And you see and hear how this fellow Paul has convinced and led astray large numbers of people here in Ephesus and in practically the whole province of Asia. He says that gods made by human hands are no gods at all. 27 There is danger not only that our trade will lose its good name, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be discredited; and the goddess herself, who is worshiped throughout the province of Asia and the world, will be robbed of her divine majesty.â€
28 When they heard this, they were furious and began shouting: “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!†29 Soon the whole city was in an uproar. The people seized Gaius and Aristarchus, Paul’s traveling companions from Macedonia, and all of them rushed into the theater together. 30 Paul wanted to appear before the crowd, but the disciples would not let him. 31 Even some of the officials of the province, friends of Paul, sent him a message begging him not to venture into the theater.
32 The assembly was in confusion: Some were shouting one thing, some another. Most of the people did not even know why they were there. 33 The Jews in the crowd pushed Alexander to the front, and they shouted instructions to him. He motioned for silence in order to make a defense before the people. 34 But when they realized he was a Jew, they all shouted in unison for about two hours: “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!â€
35 The city clerk quieted the crowd and said: “Fellow Ephesians, doesn’t all the world know that the city of Ephesus is the guardian of the temple of the great Artemis and of her image, which fell from heaven? 36 Therefore, since these facts are undeniable, you ought to calm down and not do anything rash. 37 You have brought these men here, though they have neither robbed temples nor blasphemed our goddess. 38 If, then, Demetrius and his fellow craftsmen have a grievance against anybody, the courts are open and there are proconsuls. They can press charges. 39 If there is anything further you want to bring up, it must be settled in a legal assembly. 40 As it is, we are in danger of being charged with rioting because of what happened today. In that case we would not be able to account for this commotion, since there is no reason for it.†41 After he had said this, he dismissed the assembly.
And about Rev 12-1
check this:
Appeared in the sky a huge sign: a woman clothed with the sun, the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars – This sign in the sky announces a new section. This should be connected with the opening of the temple of God in heaven in the previous verse (11:19). The “woman clothed with the sun, the moon under her feet and upon her head a crown of twelve stars” is a clear reference to the dream of Joseph (Gen. 37:9) and, therefore, the woman represents the twelve tribes of Israel. Joseph’s dream describes the sun and moon and eleven stars bowing to him. This is done when it becomes the second of Pharaoh and his brothers bowed before him (Gen. 43:26-29). Women are elected and, in particular, here are the elect of the Old Testament that gives birth to Christ (v. 5), then is the elect of the New Testament (v. 17). John sees a continuum between the elect of the OT and NT (see 21:12-14). Wilson says “in the scriptures there is a sharp dividing line between the true Israel and the new Israel, because the people of the promise is a people, whether they lived before or after the coming of Christ.” But here she is elected to the OT, one of the few references in Revelation to the elect only OT. Compare the heavenly glory of the woman who represents the elect (the wife, Eph. 5:22), earthly with the brightness of the prostitute who represents the world (17:4). This woman is in contrast with the prostitute and the Queen of Heaven.
To our dear brother Jibson Babu and others (non-believers) who posted comments about the Blessed Virgin Mary on this web site:
First of all my greeting of peace may reach u all; it seems to me that there were Christians in name that does not know the role of our Lady as God’s greatest gift to mankind today, I shall not blame you, because maybe many of you were waylaid by the deceiver who were clothed in sheepskin to hide their true identity and missions in this world. These poor brothers do not know what they are talking about Mary; their ignorance of the Mother of God would bring them to perdition and lost their souls. They used to quote verses upon verses in the scripture and laying lengthy argument as if they were authoritative in their knowledge and understanding in every passage they love to quote. But the most frightening of this is when they started attacking other people’s faith that lead them to the point of belittling the Mother of our savior Jesus the Christ. And I must 4warn u brethren that you were creating your pits of no return because of your arrogant and pride; you are about to lose your precious souls. Christian fundamentalist loves to quote verses in the scripture and twisted the true meaning that fit to their liking; several of these were pertain about Blessed Mary’s attributes:1. worship/ venerate 2.the deplorable accusation that the Blessed Virgin and St. Joseph had children after Jesus Christ, 3.the allegation Jibson Babu pointed out in ( Jer. 7;18;and 44:17-25 ) the “queen of heaven” were all a product of ignorance not knowing his Bible very well. 4. Why we pray to Mary, maybe what they mean is the Holy Rosary? First and foremost, my dear brothers the Rosary is not a prayer of words but of meditation…meditated the entire gospel, the incarnation, birth, life, suffering, death, resurrection, and glory of our Lord Jesus the Christ. The Rosary is also called “angelic salutationâ€, it is the summary about the Blessed Virgin and his Son’s life on earth and it consists of two parts, that of praise and petition. Our Christian brothers of different denominations refused to acknowledge Mary’s role on earth for our salvation, intentionally or maybe of ignorance, in both cases, they were creating their own destruction. To begin with, can we show some proof in the scripture about our Lady’s importance in our daily life? Here are some passages that our dear brothers may tend to accept or not but somehow I find it necessary to communicate for their additional knowledge and understanding so that they may get closer to know and love Her for their own good. The first episode in the gospel of Luke, (Luke 1:26) “the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth… He went in and said, rejoice so highly favored, the Lord is with you…the Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the most high will cover you with its shadow. And the child will be Holy and will be called Son of God.†The second episode, (Luke 1: 41-42) “ Now as soon Elizabeth heard of Mary’s greeting the child leapt in her womb and Elizabeth is filled with the Holy Spiritâ€. She gave a loud cry and said, “Of all women you are the most blessed, and blessed is the fruit in thy womb.†The third episode, (Luke 1:46-48) “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord and my spirit exults in God my Savior, because he has looked upon his lowly handmaid. Yes, from this day forward all generation shall call me blessed.
For the Almighty had done great things for me.†Take note, that on these three episodes, we can absolutely confirm it is an act of God. Why? In both episodes God and the Holy Spirit willed it to happen, so that we may know of the glories of Mary to come. Brethren lend me your ears so that you may not be fooled of false teachings contrary to the faith our fore fathers wants us to be steadfast. I tell you solemnly, “faith in Christ which does not include his Mother is another Christ in the making.†The above passages I had methodically laid to you are worthy of attention for the benefit of your soul. Remember this passage in the scripture many souls fails to understand, the gospel of Luke says, (Luke 8:21) “My Mother and My brothers are those who hear the words of God and put in to practice.†Now, ask this question to yourself brethren who do you think among Christians follows the word of God and put in to practice? Who among Christians acknowledged prophesies of Elizabeth and of Mary when they were both filled with the Holy Spirit and declared the fullness of God’s will? “hail full of grace, the Lord is with you, blessed are you among women and blessed is thy fruit of thy womb,†and, “From now on all generation shall call me blessed,†there is only one faith since time immemorial or the first Christian, the remaining remnant, (the seed), that until this day forward remained truthful to the will of God by repeating the praise He himself composed for Mary’s glory. Our Christian brother of different denominations are so meticulous in examining every phrase in the scripture but fails to see and comprehend the above passages we had provided for, as proof why Catholic so revered and venerate Mary. I am tempted to pose this question to anyone who may wish to answer, to liven the subject of our discussion, tell me, where can we find in the scripture prohibit us calling the name of Mary? To my knowledge, Jesus Christ warned us of only four entities that we should avoid calling and believing to them. These four entities were, the false Christ, false teachers, false prophets and the Antichrist; nowhere in the scripture He implicated the name of His beloved Mother to be avoided but rather He had even hinted that His beloved Mother can do wonder for us if we address to Her our petitions. The wedding in Cana proves Mary’s strong influence to His Son, though it is not time for Him to perform His first miracle, He was obliged to do so, to heed the request of His beloved Mother. Jesus Christ was true God and true Man, during His lifetime on earth He was accustomed to carry out His Father’s will at any given opportunity, and all the mission accomplished was always been dedicated to His Father in heaven. Until such a time one disciple had the courage to ask Him. ( John 14:-8 ) “Philip said, Lord, let us see the Father and then we shall be satisfied.†Jesus Christ being Divine in origin has a Father in heaven and being true Man at the same time has by nature a Mother to rear and care for Him. And this had been proven during His passions, His Mother never abandoned Him at the end of His journey in Mt. Calvary till He had been nailed to the cross and died for our salvation. The last words of Jesus upon hanging on the cross was always been the language of love dedicated to His Father in heaven and never He had forgotten to include His Mother’s role for the completion of His ministerial mission on earth and the continuation afterwards of His apostle’s mission. (John 19:-26) “Seeing His Mother and the disciple he loved standing near Her, Jesus said to His Mother, woman, this is your son. Then to the disciple He said, this is your Mother. And from that moment the disciple made a place for Her in his home.†Here, Christ even though in great pain and near to expire His life, consistently reminded us of the goodness of His Father and the loving memory of His Mother’s care. There was always been three important characters in Jesus life, aside from other supporting characters mentioned in the scripture but the most memorable was himself and of His Father in heaven and of course His Mother Mary as shown when He died on the cross. This was what He meant in the gospel of Mathew, “For who is my Mother and brothers? When Jesus asked this question, (Mt. 12:48-50) “And stretching out His hand towards the disciples he said, here are My Mother and brothers. Anyone who does the will of My Father in heaven, he is my brother and sister and Mother. For who must be the best witness to identify the true Christ but His Mother who had not abandoned Him till the end of His ministerial life on earth? When Jesus warned us of the four entities mentioned (the deceivers) in the scripture, He meant every word of it literally; Jesus said, (Mt.24:23)
“Therefore, if there are anyone who said here is the Christ. Do not believe it, for false Christ and false prophets will arise and produce great signs and portents, enough to deceive even the chosen:†In (2 Peter2:1-3) the same theme was written, “As there were false prophets in the past history of our people, so you too have a false teachers, who will insinuate their own disruptive views and disown the Master who purchased their freedom. They will destroy themselves very quickly, but there will be many who copy their shameful behavior, and the way of the truth will be brought into disrepute on their account.†Now can we properly identify these false teachers and bare their true color? In the letters of Timothy he enumerated the characters of these false teachers; they were, (2Tim.3:1-5) “self centered and grasping, boastful, arrogant, and rude…they will be slanderers, profligates, savages and enemies of everything that is good; they will be treacherous and demented by pride, preferring their own pleasure to God…†As we have now the idea of the characters of these false teachers, can we still unmask the true identity to whom these were attributed? In the first letter of John he had explicitly guided us where they came from. (1John2:18-19) “Children these are the last days: You were told that an Antichrist must come, and now several antichrists have already appeared; we know from this that these are the last days. Those rivals of Christ came out of our own number, but they had never really belonged; if they had belonged, they would have stayed with us; but they left us, to prove that no one of them ever belonged to us.†Thus, as we have now the exact formula and complete ingredient we are guided now accordingly to detach ourselves to these false teachers lest we may be infested of their erroneous doctrines: I would not name names because I may hurt some feelings of their followers who build their faith innocently out of their ignorance, I am after of these lost souls. But, I will leave some question to their preachers to ponder if what I am about to ask makes sense if they are really seeking for the truth. The passage in (1John 2:18-19) is one of the essential bases to build the foundation of faith because this will be the ultimate goal to be strong of your conviction; when John said, referring to the rivals of Christ “Those rivals of Christ came out of our own number, but they had never really belonged; if they belonged, they would have stayed with us; but they left us, to prove that no one of them ever belonged to us.†Was actually an eye opener statement; Now, these are the questions; Have you dear brothers in Christ read first the history of our fore fathers (the first Christian) who had painstakingly recorded all the acts of propagation of their apostolic works? If you don’t, may I have your attention focus in the first statement: Firstly; 1.) “ came out of our own number, but they had never really belonged;†that will be first solid base of the foundation I will help you to establish; meaning, they were the first Christian who heard the Word and been converted: Secondly; 2.) “if they belonged, they would have stayed with us;†meaning, after been converted they would have stayed to their first calling: Thirdly, 3.) â€but they left us, to prove that no one them ever belonged to us.†meaning, they departed to their calling or renouncing the teaching of our fore fathers that we must hold steadfast; After breaking the above passage into three categories, will help us arrive to a just conclusion who these false teachers will be appearing in the later day time. As I have said, I will just pose questions for them to answers, I just hope they respond with conviction to help us unmask and identify to whom these passage (1John2:18-19) pertain. All of us claim followers of Christ but there were still two remaining Christ the scripture noted who will mingle with us, the false Christ and the Antichrist; History tells us the first Church was instituted by Christ himself to His apostle Simon, who was also called Peter, (Mt.16:18-19) “So now I say to you: “You are Peter and on this rock I will build My Church. And the gates of underworld can never hold against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: whatever you bind on earth shall be considered bound in heaven;†The Encyclopedia, Americana, Vol.6 p.69 and Vol.21,pp.251-256; and the Wikipedia informs us of the first Church was instituted through Peter: these were the facts and references no one can dispute. And to make it more convincing, our first Pope, Peter, up to these present times has been recorded properly and historically; to deny these facts is to let prejudice override reason. As I have already laid down some interesting references for you to consult, I address these questions to the other Christianity who differs from Catholic faith; when and where your denomination started? Would you have some proof historically ahead of the Catholic Church? Have you by reason, confident, that your Church where you are in now has the lineage to the first Church Christ himself instituted through Peter? Have you by reason, confident, that what was written in the first letter of John (1john 2:18-19) who formerly came from our number, but eventually left us, because they never stayed with us, for they never really belonged to us, does not refer to other Christianity in this later day time? If, in the course of this discussion you may seem have immediate response to these questions, I hope and I pray that the Spirit of discernment help you arrive to a just conclusion. There are still many more passages to discuss but for the meantime this maybe enough, a lengthy discussion sometimes keeps reader bored, I pray to Jesus that someone may be enlightened of this exposition. Lastly, I want you to know, that faith in Christ which does not include His Mother is another christianity. Jesus I trust in you. Oh’ Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
I response to Moses Daniel (#1184):
Dear Moses,
As like any citizens of a country, don’t we all have different opinions, tastes, cultures etc.? Therefore Christian denominations you have mentioned likewise also believe in the intepretation of Bibilical doctrines that vary. For instance, Pentecostals believe they are more anointed by speaking in “gibberish” tongues just like how the Catholic Charismatic copy-cats do the same. The Baptists do not believe that speaking in “gibberish” tongues is valid in this “Laodicean Church Age”.
We also see that there was also a sharp disagreement between the Apostles themselves during the preaching ministry of Jesus way back 2000+ years ago. We see that St. Paul even sharply rebuked and corrected St.Peter for his doctrinal errors he mistakenly introduced while preaching. See Galatians 2:11.
So it should be no surprise that there are many Christian demonination today who differ doctinally as the same difference also existed in Biblical times. This offcourse does not make them invalid.
You must however note that these 50,000+ denominations today all “unitedly” agree in one common apostolic doctrine and that is: “Salvation is found in no else except Jesus”. Jesus is the head of the true New Testament Church and that the scriptures are the only source of divine authority in all matters of faith, practice and Doctrine. The Bible being God’s Word is sufficient and complete and no “extra” biblical revelations are necessary today. Man-made traditions that exalt above the Word of God are discarded. The Bible is all sufficient till the second comimg of Christ.
Not so with ONLY the Roman Catholic Church which does not believe in only the Bible, but adds its own man-made traditions to the Word of God. So Roman Catholicism = Scripture + Tradition. RC Church tradition even goes to exalt above the Word of God and replaces it with some man-made traditions. This is the “crux” of the problem and it make the RC Church not the true Church of Christ. Many dogmas have been added such as Marian dogmas that are not supported in scripture. Roman Catholicism is doctrinally in error because its man-made teachings are not Christian, but are pagan rituals absorbed as the RC Church evolved over the years.
Therefore we can conclude with a simple ratio that evangelical denominations outnumber the RC Church as 50000 : 1. The RC Chuch and a few “cults” like Jehovah’s witness, Seventh Day Adventist, Mormons are doctrinaly in errors. They are not the Church established by Christ.
Roman Catholicism brings in “paganism” and “judaism” into the Christian Church, while Seventh Day Adventists bring “sabath” jewish traditions into the Christian Church. This happens when people don’t rightly divide the truth of the scriptures, dispensationally.
Well a lot of Catholic friends of mine have over the years asked this same very question and i was happy to answer them the same i have answered the same herein. Catholics usually think that “if” there are 1+ billion Catholics worldwide – then it must surely be that one true church established by Christ. Nothing can be further from the truth. Don’t simly look at the BIG FIGUREs because RC Church has “cladestinely” since coming into existence, has been baptising babies. So it obvious the RC Church membership will show a “swollen” figure. Over the years it has been the family “tradition” thing. I baptise my children, in turn my Children baptise their children, and its goes on and on.
Hope this answers your question. Will be glad to answer honestly any further questions you may have.
God Bless.
Good one Nathan.. Praise to Jesus
Dear Catholics,
Salvation is found in no else except Jesus.
The Catholic Doctrine of the Assumption is that Mary was assumed into heaven bodily…but there is not one Scripture to verify this Doctrine of the Catholic church…so The Real Doctrine of the Assumption is that… Mary was assumed to be dead…and no one has heard from her since….she was assumed to be dead…and not bodily taken to heaven…..the Catholic church has no Scriptural proof and simply makes it up as it goes along…….
In NT, the total no of verses are 7956 or 138,020 words. I didn’t see a single verse saying Mary was assumed into heaven!
God bless you
Babu dear,
To tell you honestly I always find myself amused every time I come across of your brief letters, your penchant of Blessed Mary’s title drives you crazy. What are you really gaining at attacking Her titles we Catholics attributed it to Her? In the first place you are not part of our Church anyway! So why confuse yourself instigating false teaching among us? Do you think because of your knowing how many the number words of the Bible had you have already established to us you are correct? Why are you so much in jealous of Her Titles? Do you want to share some just like what Lucifer wanted from the start when he heard of this Beautiful Lady God had created to crush Satan’s head? I am beginning to think there is something inside you wanting to share the tree of knowledge of good and evil that God forbids to be eaten. That was Lucifer did to our first parent when she got envied of this Mystical Woman!
I have already given you so many clues not counting other writers tried hard to salvage your precious soul. You just choose to be stubborn and demented with so much pride. (2Tim.3:4):
Still I will not give up on you, hardcore St. Paul had been converted with the help of God’s grace maybe one day the Blessed Lady or the Lord Jesus visit you in your dream so you may know Her / Him better. It happened to me I hope to you also!
Lastly, I will leave you a clue to ponder I hope you find it interesting to expound… because this will lead you to know her better… Read Baruch 3:32 &37-38, and pray to the Holy Spirit for discernment.
Jesus I trust in you. ‘Oh Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
In response to Celestino Culaba (post #1193)
Hi Celestino,
God the Almighty, God the Son Jesus, and God the Holy Ghost in this present age do not visit people in their dreams to reveal something
new, because God relevation is complete in the Bible. God does not “subtract” nor “add” any more teachings via dreams
Satan usually transforms himself as an angel of light and appears to be Jesus in your dream. Jesus even said in the Bible to be careful of
many who would appear posing as Him (falses jesus’s), through different apearances and planting dreams in persons mind is the
common tactic satan uses. The human mind is where the battle to control a person mentally and psychology, takes place. You will also
see why there a so many catholic mystics who claim to speak directly to God, but these mystics are actually mentally disturbed by
demonic locutions and influences. One such mystic is vasula ryden ) who claims Jesus is speaking to her directly, but is
actually a false Jesus speaking – counterfeit agent and a seducing spirit of satan.
That is why we need to use the scriptures to filter this heresies to check whether there are true or false. We need to be like what the
Bereans where doing at the Church of Thessalonica -searching the scriptures dilligently to ascertain the truth of heresies that were
popping up at regular intervals. In fact major part of the New Testament was written to show how Jesus’s Apostles and Disciples were
combating false teachings creeping into the early first Churches.
The Book of Baruch is not part of the Bible or canon of scripture, and therefore Christians reject it outright as it is not the divine inspired
Word of God. The Book does appear in Catholic Bibles also called the Apocrypha (hidden books). This book was added by the RC
Church to combat the protestant reformation in the 15th Century as well as to support un-biblical doctrines ot teachings of the RC
Church.
God Bless
Brother Nathaniel,
Praise the Lord! I will not be surprise to know you will react to the dream story, just what Shyla did to you on his/her article #1166, May 22, immediately you jump in to confront the story. Why are you, Christian fundamentalist are so prone to vision story? Are you not aware that so many biblical passages related to dreams have been recorded in the Bible when God wishes to convey something to his people?
To name a few; “And afterward, I will pour out my spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see vision.†(Joel 2:28); And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: (Acts.2-17); and the story of Joseph the dreamer, “Now Joseph had a dream, and he repeated it to his brothers. Listen he said to this dream I have had…†( Gen.37:5 ); and of Daniel, “ The mystery have been revealed to Daniel in a night vision, and Daniel blessed the God of heaven. This is what Daniel said…†and the virginal conception of Christ, “…and the angel appeared to him in a dream and said, Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife…†Now, following your lines of argument are we to believe that these passages cited above are of Devil’s handiwork? By golly check your fact first before you waggle your noisy tongue! Your uncontrolled emotions betray your ignorance and understanding the words of the scripture. And you have the guts saying that heavenly dreams or divine vision are not of God but of the devil’s influence? And you out of your folly even implicated the good name of Vasula Ryden which has nothing to do in this forum. I suggest you stick to your own argument and present convincing gospel that may turn your readers praising you to high honor.
You mentioned false Jesus, a counterfeit agent and a seducing spirit of Satan! This is what the scripture says to know the false Jesus in these later day time, please take note of this passage it will help you to know the true identity of the characters of these seducers. You can catch them through their own mouth! (2 Tim.3:1-5) “You may be quite sure that in the last days there are some going to be a difficult times. People will be self-centered and grasping; boastful, arrogant and rude… (pls. watch this word carefully) ‘they will be slanderers’, profligates, savages and enemies of everything that is good; they will be treacherous and reckless and demented with pride, preferring their own pleasure to God.†Be forewarned now brother Nathaniel, my brotherly advise to you is watch your words, Timothy left us the formula to identify what you said is the false Jesus! You cannot blame us if we could identify his antics right from the start.
You said the book of Baruch is not included in the Bible or canon of scripture, again have you check your facts? Do you know who was the very first translator of the books we called Bible? Do you know who was the very first denomination who does not accepted the six book originally included in the O.T because they claim being an Apocrypha? I will give you reference written by people who are true to their profession of searching for truth notwithstanding their religious affiliation. “Biblical Apocrypha, Wekipedia the free Encyclopedia.†Please cross check this reference and see for yourself if what you are talking about makes sense to your readers in this forum.
The word “apocrypha” (from the Greek word ἀπόκÏυφος, apókruphos, meaning “hidden”) is today often used to refer to the collection of ancient books printed in some editions of the Bible in a separate section between the Old and New Testaments. Although the term had been in use since the 5th century, it was in Luther’s Bible of 1534 that the Apocrypha was first published as a separate inter-Testamental section. Luther was making a polemical point about the canonicity of these books. As an authority for this division, he cited St. Jerome, who in the early 5th century distinguished the Hebrew and Greek Old Testaments, stating that books not found in the Hebrew were not received as canonical. Although his statement was controversial in his day Jerome was later titled a Doctor of the Church and his authority was also cited in the Anglican statement in 1571 of the Thirty-Nine Articles.
There was agreement among the Reformers that the Apocrypha contained “books proceeding from godly men” and therefore recommended reading. The Geneva Bible said this in 1560:
Catholic and Orthodox Christians regard as fully canonical most of these books called Apocrypha, and their canonicity was explicitly affirmed at the Council of Trent in 1546 and Synod of Jerusalem (1672) respectively. They are called deuterocanonical by Catholics and anagignoskomena by the Orthodox
He mentions the book of Baruch in his prologue to the Jeremias and does not explicitly refer to it as apocryphal, but he does mention that “it is neither read nor held among the Hebrews”. In his prologue to the Judith he mentions that “among the Hebrews, the authority [of Judith] came into contention”, but that it was “counted in the number of Sacred Scriptures” by the First Council of Nicaea. The 1647 Westminster Confession of Faith during the English Civil War (1642–1651) specifically excluded the Apocrypha, thus Bibles printed by English Protestants who separated from the Church of England began to exclude these books. But despite being placed in the Apocrypha, in the table of lessons at the front of some printings of the King James Bible, these books are included under the Old Testament.
Modern editions
All King James Bibles published before 1666 included the Apocrypha.[18] In 1826,[19] the British and Foreign Bible Society decided that no BFBS funds were to pay for printing any Apocryphal books anywhere. Since then most modern editions of the Bible and reprintings of the King James Bible omit the Apocrypha section. In the 18th century, the Apocrypha section was omitted from theChalloner revision of the Douay-Rheims version. In the 1979 revision of the Vulgate, the section was dropped. Modern reprintings of the Clementine Vulgate commonly omit the Apocrypha section. Many reprintings of older versions of the Bible now omit the apocrypha and many newer translations and revisions have never included them at all.
There are some exceptions to this trend, however. Some editions of the Revised Standard Version of the Bible include not only the Apocrypha listed above, but also the third and fourth books of the Maccabees, and Psalm 151; the RSV Apocrypha also lists theLetter of Jeremiah (Epistle of Jeremy in the KJV) as separate from the book of Baruch, following the Orthodox tradition.
The American Bible Society lifted restrictions on the publication of Bibles with the Apocrypha in 1964. The British and Foreign Bible Society followed in 1966.[20] The Stuttgart edition of the Vulgate (the printed edition, not most of the on-line editions), which is published by the UBS, contains the Clementine Apocrypha as well as the Epistle to the Laodiceans and Psalm 151.
Brenton’s edition of the Septuagint includes all of the Apocrypha found in the King James Bible with the exception of 2 Esdras, which was not in the Septuagint and is no longer extant in Greek.[21] He places them in a separate section at the end of his Old Testament, following English tradition.
In Greek circles, however, these books are not traditionally called Apocrypha, but Anagignoskomena (ἀναγιγνωσκόμενα), and are integrated into the Old Testament. The Orthodox Study Bible, published by Thomas Nelson Publishers, includes the Anagignoskomena in its Old Testament, with the exception of 4 Maccabees. This was translated by the Saint Athanasius Academy of Orthodox Theology, from the Rahlfs Edition of the Septuagint using Brenton’s English translation and the RSV Expanded Apocrypha as boilerplate. As such, they are included in the Old Testament with no distinction between these books and the rest of the Old Testament. This follows the tradition of the Eastern Orthodox Church where the Septuagint is the received version of Old Testament scripture, considered itself inspired in agreement with some of the Fathers, such as St Augustine, rather than the Hebrew Masoretic text followed by all other modern translations.
Well, so far I believe I have addressed all your difficulties finding the truth.
Jesus I trust in you. ‘Oh Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
Dear Celestino,
let me address your outburst point by point:
1.) I have said that Christians do not accept extra biblical revelations especially those that are not in “agreement” with the scripture.
2.) God has presented His revelation to mankind which is complete in the 66 books of the Bible. This means he does not reveal anything more that what is written in those 66 books. We welcome if the revelation is of God if it agrees with scripture. For e.g. Marian apparitions around the world is not mentioned in scripture neither it is supported. Besides Mary being the humble mother of Jesus, a simple jewish woman who was never a Catholic, will never appear mysteriously in caves as she never did the same during Jesus preaching ministry 2000 yrs ago.
3.) Please do biblical interpretations correctly. The OLD TESTAMENT is a covenant between God and the nation Israel – the Jews, God’s chosen nation, while the NEW TESTAMENT is a covenant to all who believe and respose faith, believe and follow only Jesus Christ Son of God. Christ is the fulfillment of salvation in the NEW TESTAMENT. Hence the scripture you quoted does not apply to everyone but to the nation Israel. People like yourself make horrible mistakes because claims are made to God’s promises when it was only meant for the people of Israel. You have to remember that the doors of Salvation to non-Jews (also called Gentiles) was formally opened in the Book of Acts Chapter 10 when Cornelius and his household was the first non-Jew to be saved after St.Peter preached Jesus Christ to him. Please study the bible to rightly divide the word of truth.
3.) All Christians agree to the 66 books of the Bible are inspired and inerrant Word of God, the final revelation till the second coming of Christ. The KJV earlier editions included apocrypha simply for private reading and not as doctrine for exhorting in the Churches. Later editions of KJV have removed it as it contains teachings that relate to occult teaching. The Jews never considered apocrypha to be books that are divinely inspired. The rest you write i consider as simply “mumbo-jumbo”.
Out of egoism, the Catholic Church included the apocrypha just to counter the 15th Century protestant re-formation headed by the disgruntled ex-catholic monk Martin Luther.
5.) You say i slander the name of vasula ryden.. See for yourself that even the Catholic Church has cautioned to be careful of this mystic whose teachings actually harm the Christian faith. See the below notification fro the vatican. Now u may please challenge the Vatican instead of me.
Official Position of the Catholic Church:
Notification of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith
Cardinal Ratzinger’s 1996 Press release regarding the Notification
The Catholic Church’s official position regarding the TLIG messages and Mrs Vassula Ryden is contained in the 1995 Notification, issued by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF).
The Notification is a very severe warning regarding the errors and negative elements contained in the messages. It requests Bishops not to authorize the promotion of TLIG in their dioceses. It advises the faithful not to consider the messages as of divine origin.

What do you understand about “truth”?? For people like you, 2 Timothy 4:3 is really applicable. Truth is not relative according to human intepretation, but rather truth is “absolute” based solely on God’s Word – the scriptures.
God Bless.
Peace be with you all! Brother,I shall follow your pattern of argument, stressing as what you have said point by point.
1.) “I have said that Christians do not accept extra biblical revelations especially those that are not in “agreement†with the scripture.â€
Reply: I believe you are referring this as ‘I quote’ on your previous posting # 1194, am I correct? Please check the said article whether you mentioned this statement or not. With the heading; In response to Celestino # 1194: I shall not delve more on this issue, the record speaks for itself!
2,) “God has presented His revelation to mankind which is complete in the 66 books of the Bible. This means he does not reveal anything more that what is written in those 66 books.â€
Reply: Brother Nathaniel, do not confuse yourself on your 66 books and the messages or the passages (the word of God) inside the books. There is a big difference of what is book and what’s inside the book. I will give you an analogy to this; It is not what goes into a man’s mouth that makes him unclean, but what comes out of him. “And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreamsâ€: (Acts.2-17); and to borrow the words of Joeli; God described Himself to Amos and to Israel:
‘..it is He who forges the mountains, creates the wind, who reveals His mind to humankind..’God used ‘reveals’, not ‘revealed’, present tense, which means that He speaks His mind to us from the beginning of time up to now. Catholics sees no contradiction to what you stand (Sola Scriptura) and what we believe the messages or the passages inside it.
3.) “Please do biblical interpretations correctly. The OLD TESTAMENT is a covenant between God and the nation Israel – the Jews, God’s chosen nation, while the NEW TESTAMENT is a covenant to all who believe and respose faith, believe and follow only Jesus Christ Son of God. Christ is the fulfillment of salvation in the NEW TESTAMENT.â€
Reply: Amen! But to tell you honestly I cannot understand the other half of your statement on item 3, I find it incoherent to what the issue we are talking about unless you will rephrase it, it will remain stagnant.
4.) “All Christians agree to the 66 books of the Bible are inspired and inerrant Word of God, the final revelation till the second coming of Christ. Reply: When you said all Christians agree to the 66 books you seem speaking of the majority of Christians (Catholics and other Protestant denominations alike), brother Nathaniel, I must caution you, we are visited here by other readers and listeners in this forum that may protest your action. You mean they give you permission to speak for their behalf? All Christians? I will give you some facts about the bible; St. Jerome was the first to produce the Latin Vulgate, now we called Bible. And all the versions of existing Bible now were derived from the works of Jerome way back 4th century. As you will agree with me Martin Luther was an ex- Catholic Monk who uses the same number (73) books when he was still under the authority of the Catholic Church. And as you rightly indicated in your letter 15th century when he established the reformist group, the very first protestant I know of. But you have twisted and turn the events! You said, “God has presented His revelation to mankind which is complete in the 66 books of the Bible.†Again this is a false presentation of facts; It was the reformist group, that the seven (7) hidden books be not included in their first printing. The Bible that hidden books be excluded in their first printing. What you have now was base on KJV, is an English translation of the Christian Bible by the Church of England begun in 1604 and completed in 1611. Far Behind to the Latin Vulgate compiled (73) books by St. Jerome way back 4th century. Reference: en.Wikipedia.org./Wiki/Vulgate. From 73 books, they removed (minus) seven ( perfect number) hidden books, that left you now 66 books. (What a frightening number!)
5.)“You say i slander the name of vasula ryden.. See for yourself that even the Catholic Church has cautioned to be careful of this mystic whose teachings actually harm the Christian faith. See the below notification from the vatican. Now u may please challenge the Vatican instead of me.â€
Reply: To tell you frankly I haven’t had any idea who Vasula Ryden was, I have only come across the name on two of your articles you had written about her but to be honest with you I did not like the language you attributed to her. It is foul in my opinion! That is why cautioned and forewarned you; “So I tell you this, that for every unfounded word men utter they will answer on Judgment day, since it is by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words condemned.†(Mt.12:36-37):
I have checked your references A&B, I haven’t found anything concerning Vasula on the reference B you mentioned but I found something in reference (A) that caught my interest. Here are some findings by the church authority about her;
In 1999, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger (now the present Pope) stated that the notification was a warning, not a condemnation.
In 2005, the True Life in God writings were granted a Nihil obstat by Bishop Felix Toppo S.J. (India) and Imprimatur by Archbishop Ramon C. Arguelles (Philippines).
Ryden has attracted a devoted following among some Catholics who follow apparitions of the Virgin Mary. Various priests, bishops, theologians and religious scholars have vouched for the authenticity of her “messages†and she travels around the world giving lectures and providing “healing servicesâ€. Although two Catholic bishops in California welcomed her into their cathedrals, the Roman Catholic Church issued a statement advising Catholics “not to regard the messages of Vassula Ryden as divine revelations, but only as personal meditationsâ€, and some critics have called her a “false prophet†and a “con artistâ€. Ryden’s writings and handwritten transcriptions have been published as a series of nine volumes, called “True Life In God†and translated into 31 languages by Trinitas, an Independence, Missouri, publishing house and nonprofit organization established to spread her writings in 1991.
Father Rene Laurentin, Father Robert Faricy, Father Michael O’Carroll as well as Archbishop Frane Franic who are major promoters of Our Lady of Međugorje also actively support Ryden through their public statements and publications.
Laurentin wrote that Ryden is “one of the most balanced and transparent seers that I know. Nevertheless, she has excited more opposition than any other. As is often the case for mystics, disbelief, fear, opposition and calumny appear in like measure with the graces received.†According to O’Carroll, Ryden is “a woman with no theological instruction whatever†that “has profoundly impressed theologians of repute in different countries†and Ryden’s writings have “led to very many conversions.â€
Supporters Fr. Edward O’Connor and Niels Hvidt believe that God is using Ryden’s messages to “consolidate his church†and bring it into unity, which they feel is the main theme of her books.
Other believers such as Fr. Ferdinand Umana Montoya say that Ryden’s writings are of supernatural origin of a type that he calls ‘hieratic’ or ‘sacred’ writing.Fr. Geoffrey Attard believes Pope Benedict is inspired by Rydén’s writings in the cause of Christian unity.
Brother Nathaniel, I haven’t seen anything that may demean her personality in the reference you shared with us for consumption. I believe you failed to understand our Church position regarding how they treated mystics like Vasula Ryden. It is natural for our Church to caution (to notify) her flocks about anything that may seem supernatural. And all mystics understand very well also the Church position about them. What is the most important is that they submit themselves to the authority of our Church. It is a long process to be considered true mystics of our Church, and our Church is aware and we are guided accordingly. Listen brother I will not blame you, you handle poorly understanding our system but take this instruction as an additional knowledge for you to understand more our position on this matter.
Now, it is time to tackle your last argument. As I quote, “What do you understand about “truthâ€?? For people like you, 2 Timothy 4:3 is really applicable. Truth is not relative according to human intepretation, but rather truth is “absolute†based solely on God’s Word – the scriptures.â€
Reply: ‘This is pretty explicitly denied by the first chapter of John’s Gospel (John 1:17).’ But perhaps an even better verse to look is the first chapter of Mark’s. “The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, ‘What is this? A new teaching and with authority! He even gives orders to evil spirits and they obey Him’†(Mark 1:27). So Christ, the Revelation of God, brings with Him new teachings. If that weren’t the case, the New Testament would be unnecessary. And this new revelation was revealed by Christ Himself, not by any writing. As St. Paul says in 2 Thessalonians 2:15, we’re bound as Christians to obey both by Epistle, and Tradition-by-word-of-mouth . We see this throughout the entire Bible, up to the very last Book: as Rev. 1:1 makes clear, the entire Book of Revelation was originally a vision. This leaves Christian fundamentalist in a truly bizarre position. In order to affirm the un-Scriptural doctrine that all doctrines have to come from Scripture, fundamentalist have to nullify the word of God found in (2 Thes. 2:15)
Another example, God reveals something new through a prophet by ordering the prophet to say something to a particular person or group. That is, new revelation is transmitted orally. Certainly, these revelations were eventually written down, but often not until much later. Following your stand, we have to reject the new revelation until it written down. And in many cases, waiting until the prophesy was written down would be much too late. Look specifically at the example in 2 Chronicles 11:2-4, for example. If Rehoboam had ignored the prophet, since 2 Chronicles hadn’t been written yet, he’d have gone into battle in direct disobedience against God. So then Sola Sriptura wasn’t the only thing to base our belief there is also the oral tradition we have to rely on.
I hope and I pray you will be enlightened of this instruction.
Jesus King of Mercy I trust in you. “Oh Mary conceived without sin, pray who have recourse to thee!
Dear Celestino,
Amen! But to tell you honestly I cannot understand the other half of your statement on item 3, I find it incoherent to what the issue we are talking about unless you will rephrase it, it will remain stagnant.
Refer to your scripture references of Joel 2:28, Gen 37:5 and Acts 2:17. These scriptures you have quoted are for the nation Israel i.e. God is speaking to His chosen people.
(a) Joel 2:28 – here the prophet of God is prophesying to the people of Israel the Jews only.
(b.) Gen 37:5 – God speaks to Joseph in a dream. In the Old Testament God spoke to His people directly e.g. Moses at the burning bush, Joseph via a dream. This how Jesus (God) spoke to his people – also called the pre-incarnate period of Christ.
(c.) Acts 2:17 – St. Peter is preaching to the Jews and is quoting an OLD TESTAMENT scripture which is actually Joel 2:28. Compare Acts 2:17 with Joel 2:28.
This is how you rightly divide the Word of Truth.
In the New Testament, Christ became the fulfillment of the Law (John 1:7). Jesus was God himself who came in the flesh, who existed before the foundation of the world, before Mary, the priests, the popes, the pastors, you and me came into the world. John 1:1. Jesus is the Creator, the author and sustainer of life, the author of salvation, who holds the keys to hell and heaven. He is the Creator and we are the creations. Christianity beliefs are “monotheistic” and not “pantheistic”. Christians swear allegiance to Jesus, the Creator and not the creations. Mary, you and me are created beings.
I am a “Gentile” Christian and not a Jew. It is clearly seen in the Book of Acts Chapter 10, the door of Salvation opened to “all” including (Jews and Gentiles). Gentiles are the Non-Jews.
So why do I categorically state that God does not reveal any further revelations in our present age as His revelations to mankind are complete in the 66 books of the Bible? Because as Christians we are required to abide not only by the Word of God, but are called to abide by “faith” in Christ alone till His second coming.
Another example, God reveals something new through a prophet by ordering the prophet to say something to a particular person or group. That is, new revelation is transmitted orally.
As i have said in the beginning, in the OLD TESTAMENT God revealed himself directly. In The NEW TESTAMENT God himself took the form of human flesh and became a sacrificial lamb. So you will find this revelations recorded within the Bible itself because it is how the various authors of the Bible were moved by the Holy Ghost – who is the author. This revelations were recorded before the NEW TESTAMENT was complete. More specifically the Book of Revelation is the last book of the Bible we see how it was revealed to St.John about future events, and those are the only events followers of Christ will obey. So God in this present day does not reveal any more further revelations are the last being Rev_22:18 – For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book. We are called to be “born-again and abide by “faith” in Christ “alone” till His second coming, it is when all true born-again believers will rise with Christ.
A covenant is an agreement between God and man. I have already explained the differences between OLD and NEW TESTAMENT, so I won’t repeat it again.
All 50,000+ Christian denomination Churches out there “unitedly” agree that there are only 66 divinely inspired books of the Bible starting from Genesis – Revelation.
Only the Catholic church has 73 books. I have already given the reason. I see no difference if Luther and His Protestants also agree to the 73 books after all they are ex-Catholics. As far as Jerome is concerned, he included the Apocrypha books because a “papal-bull” was issued to Him to include the Apocrypha books which was actually against his original decision to include them. If he didn’t include them, he would definitively be “burnt” at the stake as a heretic, just like how thousands of “bible-believing” Christians were burnt at the statk by the Popes during that horrendous persecution and torture dark middle ages of the inquisition and the crusades.
When you said all Christians agree to the 66 books you seem speaking of the majority of Christians (Catholics and other Protestant denominations alike),
You need to ascertain the facts whether Catholics and Protestants (ex-Catholics) are actually true and authentic Christians. Whether they follow the true apostolic doctrines that were “free” from man-created “dogmas’ like the marian dogmas. BTW all true followers of Christ are called “Christians” (Acts 11:26).
In respect to Vasula Ryden you can ignore the wikipedia link. Look at this offical Vatican Order http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_19951006_ryden_en.html
God Bless
Dear Celestino,
Revelations 22:18-20 – is clear enough why God himself says that there is no further revelations to mankind.
Can God be a “liar”? Nope. John 17:17 says – “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” The Word of God is the absolute “truth” and He cannot “lie”. More over God says it esteems or exalts his Word above his name Psalm 138:2 – “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name”.
Below is in response to your objection against “Sola scriptura” at post #1197
What is Sola Scriptura?
Answer: Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone) is the doctrine that the Holy Bible, being the Word of God, is the only infallible rule of faith and practice for Christians in the post-apostolic age.
The Bible is:
The rule (standard, guide) of faith – teaching us what we ought to believe and how to live for the glory of God.
The infallible rule – incapable of error, certain, not liable to mislead – because it is the Word of God.
The only infallible rule – it contains the whole counsel of God for His people. Christians value religious teachers, but they are fallible (liable to make mistakes). We also value tradition as long as it is consistent with the Scriptures.
Christians have full confidence in the Holy Scriptures because they are “given by inspiration” or “God-breathed” – the very Word proceeding from the mouth of God. What “The Scriptures say” and what “God says” are the same thing. That is what Jesus believed.
Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. “For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven. “But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.†(Matthew 22:29-32).
What is read in the Scriptures is God speaking to us! Therefore the Scriptures are the infallible rule of faith since God can neither lie nor err. ‘The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever’ (Psalm 119:160). The teaching of the Bible is free from error and we can have absolute confidence in it.
Moreover, sola Scriptura affirms that all that the Church and every Christian must believe for salvation and godliness is certainly found in the Holy Scriptures. The Bible is able to make us wise for salvation which is by faith in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 3:15,16). The Bible is also useful for teaching and correction so that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly furnished for every good work. God’s revelation for His Church is fully contained in the Holy Bible and there is no important information missing that we should seek elsewhere.
Having indicated what sola Scriptura is, we must also discuss what it is not. Sola Scriptura is often misunderstood and misrepresented. I am dismayed and angered whenever I read Catholic literature on this subject because more often then not they are attacking a straw man.
Sola Scriptura is not a claim that the Bible contains all knowledge. The Bible does not give exhaustive details on the history of redemption. John 21:25 says that not all that Jesus did is recorded in the book; all the books of the world would not be enough for that purpose. But the Bible does not have to be exhaustive to function as the sole rule of faith for the church. We need ‘enough’ knowledge not ‘exhaustive’ knowledge. Sometimes Catholic apologists argue for the need of tradition, saying that Bible does not record everything. Apparently they do not realize that tradition is not exhaustive either! Does tradition give us all possible information about the life of Christ, and all that He said, and all the apostles did and said? Of course not! In fact, we would respectfully challenge our Catholic friends to give us one statement that Jesus said that comes to us by tradition and not from the Holy Scripture.
Sola Scriptura is not a denial of the church’s authority to teach God’s revelation. The Church is ‘the pillar and foundation of the truth’ (I Timothy 3:15) because it upholds and teaches the Word of God. However the church cannot add doctrines of human origin or contradict the God-breathed Scriptures. The church’s authority is subordinate to the authority of the Bible. Moreover, the church is commissioned to preach the Word orally, and to transmit the Christian Gospel from one generation to the next. The most enthusiastic proponents of sola Scriptura do so eagerly and do their best to make sure that their preaching is consistent with the written Word of God.
Sola Scriptura is not a denial that historically God’s Word came in other ways other than the written form. Before writing down His message, God spoke through the apostles and prophets, and personally in Christ Jesus, His Son. During the same time the Holy Spirit moved holy men to write down His Word to be the permanent inspired record of His message for the post-apostolic age till the end. The apostles and prophets are the foundation of the church (Ephesians 2:20) and though they are absent, we can still build our lives on their teaching which is recorded infallibly in the Holy Scriptures.
Sola Scriptura does not imply that the Bible will always be interpreted correctly, or that there will not be differences and heresies among Christians. Jesus was clear enough in His teaching, yet His disciples often misunderstood Him. The apostles’ message was also perfectly intelligible, and yet all sorts of errors and heresies crept in the early church. Similarly, the Bible is not written in a mysterious and cryptic code that needs some infallible decoder to explain its hidden meaning. The Bible is addressed to the ordinary people of God and it can be understood. The problem lies not with the clarity of the Bible, but with people who often ignore the Bible or twist the its meaning because of laziness, ignorance and prejudice.
I address this few words to my brother in Christ Nathaniel, peace be with you.
I haven’t seen anything new (but one in Rev.22:18 that I will deal later) that may sweeten our expositions. Your article #1198 touched not all that I addressed. You simply ignore few things that will make the big difference of my contention. I will not touch it again because it may seem clear already to you.
I think you are improving, you are now learning to compare passages in the O.T (Joel 2:28) and why it was said in the N.T. (Acts.2:17). That is a good start of revealing something new into your knowledge. It only needs few retouching and you will change your view 360 degrees. That is what we term parallelism or typology. All the apostles and Christ used that pattern to be in consistent with the context of the scriptures.
I shall quote your last argument.
(More specifically the Book of Revelation is the last book of the Bible we see how it was revealed to St.John about future events, and those are the only events followers of Christ will obey. So God in this present day does not reveal any more further revelations are the last being)“Rev.22:18 – For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.†Tell me how did you understand this verse? Is it the one that I open and close in parenthesis above that you repeated on the next posting #1199 (note: I inserted #1199 when I found out later it was the same issue) was it what you really mean? I want to make sure first of your exact stand before I share with you my personal understanding of this passage. In that way we may avoid misunderstanding of the presentation of our ideas.
You have a mixed signal about Vasula Ryden, you are telling me now ignore the first reference you (#1196) posted last May30th.I thank you much for that! Now about your new last reference about her, I believe I have already explained to you our system. The Church stand is always neither confirmed or deny(condemn)
Last posting #1200: â€Below is in response to your objection against “Sola scriptura†at post #1197â€
Did I object? Please read again the last sentence of last two paragraphs. My statement was clear as daylight!
This is taken in part in your last posting#1200, last paragraphs. â€Similarly, the Bible is not written in a mysterious and cryptic code that needs some infallible decoder to explain its hidden meaning. The Bible is addressed to the ordinary people of God and it can be understood.â€
I invite you we talk of this issue if you find it necessary. We shall together expound this topic for greater understanding and knowledge we can get through it.
Jesus King of Mercy I trust in you. “Oh Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
Dear Nathaniel,
I have learned that BIBLE is more than enough for us to be a good Christian from your above postings. Thanks. And I have learned that one can wake a person who is really sleeping. But not the one who pretends to be. I hope that you will be cautious,
not falling a sweet prey to Celestino and others.
As per the Scripture ( Mat20:16, Mat22:14 ) many are called, but, a few are chosen. being a chosen till the end can ONLY be,fallowing THE WORD. But none else. Again thanks to all, whoever proved all, according to THE BIBLE words.
Dear Nathaniel,
I am happy for your response, The true chritian is not the one who speaks great scriptures.
One who fullfills the will of GOD.
Nathanial,
GOD wants us to be united and be one church
As you have said, diffrent congregations follow, depending on the cultures, why is it so, this means peoples are following Bible in the way they understand.
When you pray Holyspirit should guide and endure in us.
If this is missing, church will split and many churches will emurgh.
Roman catholics fullfill this by following oneness in Chrsit the Lord our saviour…
Dear Shyla and Moses. I rejoice that you both are edified by my post. God Bless you all.
@Moses:
I will reply below to your statement – Roman catholics fullfill this by following oneness in Chrsit the Lord our saviour..
This is absolutely not true. In fact it is the opposite. Catholics pay a lip service to Jesus. Jesus in the Catholic Church is reduced to a mere “puppet” on a string. Jesus is always projected as ‘Mama’ Mary’s boy – who always receives all instructions from his mother. There is Catholic church in the area I live. Just above the altar stands in the middle a towering statue of Mother Mary and to the right a small sized statue of Jesus looking “meekly” at his mother’s serious face. I see you are intelligent enough to know what it means. So I will not explain. Do you know what it takes to be oneness in Christ?? Its not mere belief by speaking from the mouth. Believing in Jesus means total surrender to HIM only, and the scriptures alone.
Majority of Roman Catholic lay faithful are woefully not aware what their Church actually teaches in the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC). Did you know the Catholicism “preaches” a false gospel of salvation that is anti-Biblical. That binds every catholic in perpetual bondage very cleverly that the average catholic is not aware of. That is why a majority of Catholics are dubbed as “cradle Catholics” who go to church attend mass, then expect (without ascertaining the actual truth) a neat package from the cradle to the casket, without assurance of their eternal destination? Do you know what is the official teaching or the doctrine of salvation taught by the Catholic Church??
What is that oneness you are talking about? Is it the true oneness in Christ Jesus?. Is Jesus the head of the catholic church?. Nope. Catholics are taught the pope is the head of the Church. For Christians Christ is the head of the Church and the scriptures are sufficient. Catholicism is a man-made religion. Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ who died for sins on the cross of Calvary as a substitute.
Also be aware that Jesus himself cautioned about counterfeit Jesus’s. The only true Jesus lives in the Bible, the true biblical Jesus. The Catholic Jesus is a counterfeit shown as residing in a wafer called Eucharist. The Bible also talks about a man called “bar-jesus”. The Mary of the Catholic Church is also a counterfeit. She is actually the “Queen of Heaven” a pagan godess mentioned in Jeremiah 7:18 that all Catholics worship – that provokes God to anger? The Catholic church also has slyly modified the ten commandment especially command no.2 – do a comparison by taking the Catechism book and the Catholic bible and note the differences. Catholics are part of a Church setup that murdered millions of bible-believing christians. Did Jesus authorise murder?? I see cradle Catholics like yourself are just plainly deceived by false teachings of the Catholic church. The first century NEW TESTAMENT church the followers of Christ established was at Antioch where they were first called Christians (Acts 11:26) – and not called Catholics, Protestants. Besides the Church Christ established is a church of spiritually born-again Christians who venerate the Lord Jesus Christ and not His mother. All Christians love Mary and honour her but only Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty of my sins. Without Jesus sacrificial death, were are hopelessly lost and dammed eternally separated from God due to sinful Adamic nature we inherited from the time we were conceived in our mothers womb. The Catholic Church also teaches another falsehood that mary was conceived without sin, when the scriptures says that only Jesus was the sinless spotless lamb of God. This false teaching denies the sovereign deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. Christianity worships the Creator – the Lord Jesus Christ – and NOT the creations. Mary and the rest of us are created mortal beings.
There justifying yourself and saying that Roman Catholics are oneness and fulfill the same in Christ is actually a “misnomer” and really begs the question to ascertain whether that is true and you are not deceived. In this world that is held in slavery by the God of this earth – satan – we can be deceived cleverly. I must state that Catholicism is not Christian hence it is not the Church that Jesus Christ established 2000 years ago. No not the true biblical Jesus. Let me expound even more to clear the confusion, and try to show the difference between Catholic and a Christian, and hope and pray this will edify everyone who reads this post. As Christians we love our Catholic brothers and sisters and want them to see the light at the end of the tunnel, as we all want to get to heaven. I pray to Almighty God that he pour out his Holy Spirit abundantly to everyone reading this post to come to ascertain the truth and come to the saving knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Chrsit. Amen.

First, please understand that I intend no offense in the wording of this question. I interact with Catholics, along the lines of: “What is the difference between Catholics and Christians?†In face-to-face conversations with Catholics, I have literally heard, “I am not a Christian, I am Catholic.†To many Catholics, the terms “Christian†and “Protestant†are synonymous. With all that said, the intent of this article is that Catholics would study what the Bible says about being a Christian, and would perhaps consider that the Catholic faith is not the best representation of what the Bible describes.
A key distinction between Catholics and Christians is the view of the Bible. Catholics view the Bible as having equal authority with the Church and tradition. Christians view the Bible as the supreme authority for faith and practice. The question is, how does the Bible present itself? 2 Timothy 3:16-17 tells us, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.†Scripture, of itself, is sufficient for the Christian to be thoroughly equipped for every good work. This text tells us that Scripture is not “just the beginning,†or “just the basics,†or the “foundation for a more complete church tradition.†On the contrary, Scripture is perfectly and fully sufficient for everything in the Christian life. Scripture can teach us, rebuke us, correct us, train us, and equip us. Bible Christians do not deny the value of church tradition. Rather, Christians uphold that for a church tradition to be valid, it must be based on the clear teaching of Scripture, and must be in full agreement with Scripture. To my Catholic friends, please study the Word of God for yourself. In God’s Word you will find God’s description of, and intention for, His Church. 2 Timothy 2:15 declares, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.â€
A second key difference between Catholics and “Bible Christians†is the understanding of how we can approach God. Catholics tend to approach God through intermediaries, such as Mary or the saints. Christians approach God directly, offering prayers to no one other than God Himself. The Bible proclaims that we ourselves can approach God’s throne of grace with boldness (Hebrews 4:16). The Bible is perfectly clear that God desires us to pray to Him, to have communication with Him, to ask Him for the things we need (Philippians 4:6; Matthew 7:7-8; 1 John 5:14-15). There is no need for mediators or intermediaries, as Christ is our one and only mediator (1 Timothy 2:5), and both Christ and the Holy Spirit are already interceding on our behalf (Romans 8:26-27; Hebrews 7:25). God loves you intimately and has provided an open door to direct communication through Jesus.
The most crucial difference between Catholics and “Bible Christians†is on the issue of salvation. Catholics view salvation almost entirely as a process, while Christians view salvation as both a completed status and a process. Catholics see themselves as “being saved,†while Christians view themselves as “having been saved.†1 Corinthians 1:2 tells us, “…to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy…†The words “sanctified†and “holy†come from the same Greek root. This verse is declaring that Christians are both sanctified and called to be sanctified. The Bible presents salvation as a gift that is received the moment a person places faith in Jesus Christ as Savior (John 3:16). When a person receives Christ as Savior, he/she is justified (declared righteous – Romans 5:9), redeemed (rescued from slavery to sin – 1 Peter 1:18), reconciled (achieving peace with God – Romans 5:1), sanctified (set apart for God’s purposes – 1 Corinthians 6:11), and born again as a new creation (1 Peter 1:23; 2 Corinthians 5:17). Each of these are accomplished facts that are fully received at the moment of salvation. Christians are then called to live, practically (called to be holy), what is already true, positionally (sanctified).
The Catholic viewpoint is that salvation is received by faith, but then must be “maintained†by good works and participation in the Sacraments. Bible Christians do not deny the importance of good works or that Christ calls us to observe the ordinances in remembrance of Him and in obedience to Him. The difference is that Christians view these things as the result of salvation, not a requirement for salvation, or a means of maintaining salvation. Salvation is an accomplished work, purchased by the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ (1 John 2:2). God offers us salvation and assurance of salvation because Jesus’ sacrifice was fully, completely, and perfectly sufficient. If we receive God’s precious gift of salvation, we can know that we are saved. 1 John 5:13 declares, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.â€
We can know that we have eternal life and we can have assurance of our salvation because of the greatness of Christ’s sacrifice. Christ’s sacrifice does not need to be re-offered or re-presented. Hebrews 7:27 says, “He sacrificed for their sins once for all when He offered Himself.†Hebrews 10:10 declares, “…we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.†1 Peter 3:18 exclaims, “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God…†Christ’s once for all sacrifice was absolutely and perfectly sufficient. Jesus declared on the cross, “It is finished†(John 19:30). Jesus’ atoning sacrifice was the full payment for all of our sins (1 John 2:2). As a result, all of our sins are forgiven and we are promised eternal life in Heaven the moment we receive the gift God offers us – salvation through Jesus Christ (John 3:16).
So to all Catholic friends and to you Moses, do you desire this “so great salvation†(Hebrews 2:6)? If so, all you must do is receive it (John 1:12), through faith (Romans 5:1). God loves us and offers us salvation as a gift (John 3:16). If we receive His grace, by faith, we have salvation as our eternal possession (Ephesians 2:8-9). Once saved, nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38-39). Nothing can remove us from His hand (John 10:28-29). If you desire this salvation, if you desire to have all your sins forgiven, if you desire to have assurance of salvation, if you desire direct access to the God who loves you – receive it and it is yours. This is the salvation that Jesus died to provide and that God offers as a gift.

The Real truth about the Catholic Mass:
The Roman Catholic Mass must be attended by Catholics every Sunday and holy days of obligation under the penalty of mortal sin. Following are seven bibilcal reasons why the Mass is a Catholic tradition that violates the perfect sacrifice for sin that was offered once, for all sin, for all time.
1. Jesus was never a “victim” as Rome purports, He went to the cross willingly in humble obedience to His Father (Philippians 2:8).
2. When Jesus said we must eat His flesh and drink His blood, His words were spiritual and not to be taken literally (John. 6:63). He was using figurative language, as He often did (John 16:25). His disciples were familiar with the figurative phrase “eating and drinking” to describe the appropriation of divine blessings to one’s innermost being (Jeremiah 15:16; Isaiah 55:1-3).
3. Those who take “eating and drinking” literally must become cannibals to gain eternal life. Furthermore, consuming blood was forbidden; those who did were to be cut off. Jesus would not have asked the Jews to break the law (Leviticus 17:10-14). This also presents a dilemma, “What if a person eats and drinks but does not believe?” Or “what if a person believes but does not eat and drink?”
4. The alleged change of bread and wine into flesh and blood is not a miracle but a hoax because there is no change in appearance, substance and taste. True biblical miracles were real and observable.
5. Rome says the Mass is a bloodless sacrifice, but a sacrifice without blood cannot atone for sins (Leviticus 17:11; Hebrews 9:22). Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper as a memorial not a sacrifice (Luke 22:19; 1 Corinthians 11:24).
6. Nowhere in the New Testament do we find priests offering sacrifices for sin or Masses for the dead. Catholic priests violate Christ’s unique role as mediator between God and men. (1Timothy 2:5).
7. To worship the elements of the Mass is to commit the sin of idolatry (Exodus 20:4-5).
Dear Moses,
I give you another live example in ressponse to your statement: “Roman catholics fullfill this by following oneness in Chrsit the Lord our saviour…“.
Look at to this very day what is going on in staunch Roman Catholic countries like the Philipines and some Latin American countries. Every Lenten season people is these countries “self-flagellate” themselves to atone for their sins. Did Jesus say we must self-flagellate ourselves to atone for our sins? By doing self-flagellation, Roman Catholics are actually insulting the Lord Jesus Christ and making a mockery of His sacrificial death on the cross for the sins of the whole world. According to the scriptures Jesus already atoned for the sins of the world, as our substitute so that we do not have to “pay” back. He Jesus died for us because he first loved us no that we loved him. The scriptures say that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Who is to be blame for the mess in Philipines and other Latin American countries?. I would encourage you to get the answer by reading the article at . Click the “Read Story” link to read the whole story. After that can you tell me if this the true oneness that you describe Roman Catholics fulfill in the Lord Jesus ??
Thanks and God bless.
Last night I had a dream, in the plaza near the synagogue at the early hour of morning child Jesus was playing with other children. In the corner of the alley near the plaza there were two animals found dead a dog and a donkey and both carcass are in decomposing state. Unknown to child Jesus these two animals were those of their neighbors, Jesus named them Ryder (donkey) and MATThis (for a dog).Child Jesus loves these two animals and there were times in his playful mode he rides the donkey and the dog follows wherever he guides the donkey. A mutual love and affection had been established on three of them. Jesus is in actual search for these two considered friends until this tragic event happened.
That morning people started to converge in the plaza for it was the customary habit of the Jews during those times. On the first hour of the morning there were only two Jews conversing, it became four a couple of minutes and later became ten, sooner the crowd swelled coming from different part of the alleys connecting the plaza. Later the plaza transformed into public market where all trades were being disposed and sold.
The carcass of the two animals now beginning to produce foul odor and the wind blows towards the plaza that reaches every corner of the stands of its owner. Resulting trades to be stop for a while until they come up with a solution of how to dispose immediately the dead animals.
Now Jesus learned of this event and reported to the respective owners of the animals. Together they hurriedly went to the plaza to retrieve the dead animals for the intention of burying them to the ground.
A passerby named Athan a teacher of Law (a Pharisee) had been asked by the people how they would do away of both carcasses and he suggested to burn it right away to avoid spreading of the decease that infested the two animals. The owners of the two dead animals beg the Pharisee to let them just bury both animals since the result would be the same.
Unknown to Jesus his Mother Mary came along with them and upon hearing the word of the Pharisee named Athan she humbly exclaimed, “Even the best Pearl of the Orient could not match the sparkles of their eyes.†Hearing this, Athan gave Mary a contemptuous look and depart immediately.
After the owner took their respective animals and buried them to the ground they all went home as if there is nothing happened on that day. But Jesus being inquisitive even at his young age asked his Mother what is the meaning of her declaration before the Pharisee. Her loving Mother replied, when you grow up you will understand the meaning of what had been transpired this day because you will do the same thing when your time is at hand. Jesus put the instruction of His beloved Mother in His heart.
When Mary was alone, I have taken my chances to go near her and asked the same question. I implore her to reveal to me the meaning of her above statement to make it clear to me since I am different to her son Jesus that can easily understand of what you said to him.
She paused for a while and whisper to my ear it’s meaning… and I nodded happily! And then She added do you understand why your dream was so detailed naming every important characters of your dream like the name of the two animals and the Pharisee named Athan? I answered, my Lady you know better than I do, if you would not tell me I would still at a lost what are their roles and connections to my dream? The Lady replied you will know it fully well later! But truly I tell you this, you have already came into contact one of the characters only he has the ability to disappear when cornered, you have to be determined enough to carry him back to my Son’s flock in order the Church be one through his own endeavor like the apostle Paul. He would be my great defender when time comes from him to explain me. My last word to the Lady is this, if that would be my mission to bring him back to your fold I humbly seek thy guidance to teach me the words I would tell him so that it may penetrate his heart and soul and that he must confess that you are our Mother.
Jesus King Mercy I trust in you. “Oh Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
Remember that the rest of christianities have been created for the last few hundred years only. None of these new age christianities ever existed and rooted directly from our lord’s work. their works have been all added touched deleted and manipulated by some ordinary sinful people. Our faith is the only true faith. You worship liars but you refuse to read about Mary mother of God!??? Where the name Luther Kind of David comes in the original bible??! Did Martin Luther King knew our Lord personally! Hell NO!King David was born around 1010. Was Jesus around when he was killing people and having a lavish sinful life style! Off course not! He never saw the face of our lord and never talked to Jesus! How the hell he can prove any thing!!!? That is the reason why these human thieves had to make their own bibles to suite their lavish life styles while lying and rulling their poor nations!Eve deceived our Lord and Mary crushed snakes head by accepting gods wishes. What the hell you think god would send his son inside a sinful human body?!Mary is risen and she was born without sins. Mary had no other children except Jesus. She was a Virgin and stayed virgin for the rest of her life! King Davids book of bible is a new human invention created by a selfish king and sinful human being like any other. Where all these christianites have existed when Jesus was alive!???? They all started popping out of no where for the last two three hundred years like cockroaches! And these numbers of fake believers are increasing by the minute!!!!!! Who you think King David was?he was sleeping around with many women and drank and lived a very sinful life! Got it!?? Hope so!
The Bible is the Book of truth. That is why it does not even shield sinners like King David. But as a sinner (and every one is) we can be forgiven by a Loving and Holy God if we are repentant and ask for forgiveness. Yes only Jesus can forgive you if u come to him by faith and confess the guilt of your sin.
