When you’ve trusted God and walked his way
When you’ve felt his hand lead you day by day
But your steps now take you another way …
Start over.
When you’ve made your plans and they’ve gone awry
When you’ve tried your best and there’s no more try
When you’ve failed yourself and you don’t know why …
Start over.
When you’ve told your friends what you plan to do
When you’ve trusted them and they didn’t come through
And you’re all alone and it’s up to you …
Start over.
When you’ve failed your kids and they’re grown and gone
When you’ve done your best but it’s turned out wrong
And now your grandchildren come along …
Start over.
When you’ve prayed to God so you’ll know his will
When you’ve prayed and prayed and you don’t know still …
When you want to stop cause you’ve had your fill …
Start over.
When you think you’re finished and want to quit
When you’ve bottomed out in life’s deepest pit
When you’ve tried and tried to get out of it …
Start over.
When the year has been long and successes few
When December comes and you’re feeling blue
God gives a January just for you …
Start over.
Starting over means “Victories Won”
Starting over means “A Race Well Run”
Starting over means “God’s Will Done”
Don’t just sit there ………… ..
START OVER
– – – written by Woodrow Kroll of “Back to the Bible”
I was watching for the dawn but when it came it was just darkness becoming greyness. Then from the hedge a Robin began singing and I remembered they were our only bird that sings its song in every season and fron that came this……
ANAM AMHRÃN
(SOUL SONG)
In the biting cold of another dawn I stand
whilst the passage from night to day
brings me no more definition, just a greyness.
Like the world’s accidents and cruel incidents
the greyness lies as heavy as the dark night.
Its weight cold upon my heart and Soul.
Then suddenly from the silent greyness comes
Robin song, just like sunshine piercing clouds
and in that instant my soul began to stir
remembering that in this tiny red marked breast
winter’s cold nor its greyness, penetrate
Here within this small soft feathered frame
a heart sings its joy on all the seasons round
and into the grey dawn I call in prayer
Oh you who give this small bird its song
Its courage to sing through all of life’s colours
Give my heart the wisdom of the Robin’s song
Give my soul the trust and strength to do the same
Let it sing in constant praise of your Divine light
down all colours and the pathways you may send
as you guide me through the seasons of my life
Lord, Let this always be my Anam Amhrán.
and despite the Winter greyness I knew sunshine
“BE!â€
Within this word, time began its pulse
in it’s echo the Heavens were given seed
Universes flowered across the vacuum
suns lit pathways in the black vastness
The raging molten became calm and solid
light and warmth coated cold dark rock
Ice and hardening sculptured a world
and in it’s melting great seas were born
Yet still the echo rang across new land
Settling in cracks, pools and fissures
bringing carpeting, sky reaching, verdance.
And the resonance breathed life upon it
to walk its ever changing surface
and swim within it’s vast and salty depths.
Yet into some the echo breathed a question
So that their eyes turned heavenwards
And their hearts began to pulse.., how?
On it went, time carried, word whispered.
Age upon age heard it resounding.
Until the echo once more became a Word
given to be cradled and crucified in wood
Hearts that pulsed to who, then knew.
The echo still lives within each of us
It is written across each mortal soul
The one simple word that commands
each of us to ….Be!
“Lord of my days grant me the courage and wisdom to “be†all that you want me to. All light, all darkness, every incident upon my skin and in my life I offer you. Let the echo of your commandment stay ever in my ear’s and heart. I ask this in the name of My lord and Saviour Jesus Christ……….AMENâ€
I heard the poem “start over” today, it is beautiful and encouraging.
