There are many versions of the Holy Bible available now. Do you really know the History of the KJV Bible?

A resolution came forth in January 1604, when James VI of Scotland started the Hampton Court Conference. It said, “That a translation be made of the whole Bible, as consonant as can be to the original Hebrew and Greek; and this to be set out and printed, without any marginal notes, and only to be used in all churches of England in time of divine service.”

Alexander Geddes (d. 1802), a Roman Catholic priest, who in 1792 issued the first volume of his own translation of the Bible, accordingly paid tribute to the Bible of his time:

“The highest eulogiums have been made on the translation of James the First, both by our own writers and by foreigners. And, indeed, if accuracy, fidelity, and the strictest attention to the letter of the text, be supposed to constitute the qualities of an excellent version, this of all versions, must, in general, be accounted the most excellent. Every sentence, every work, every syllable, every letter and point, seem to have been weighed with the nicest exactitude; and expressed, either in the text, or margin, with the greatest precision.”

The Meaning of Christmas

Meaning of Christmas

The word Christmas itself carries so much meaning in it. Each letter carries with itself a lesson to the mankind along with the birth of Jesus.

Here is a slightly different meaning of the word Christmas which surely suits us a lot in this present scenario…

C – Carry a smile everywhere you go. In today’s world each one of us is so busy in our own affairs that we are not only hesitant to smile at others but we ourselves have forgotten to smile. This Christmas let us make a sincere attempt to smile more and be cheerful.

H – Hold on to our morals. Today all of us are so busy chasing the ladder of glory and fame, that we are ready to compromise on our ethics. This Christmas let us make an attempt to stick on to our morals and values, whatsoever the situation may arise.

R – Receive others the way they are. Most of the times we fail to realize that all are not alike and perfect and tend to blame and condemn people who do not fit into our framework. This Christmas let us learn to accept others and acknowledge our differences.

I – Inspect one self. We fail to retrospect ourselves and our drawbacks and thereby cause trouble to others. This Christmas let us make an attempt to peep into ourselves and make good those little negativities we carry.

S – Share with those in need. Let us make an effort to share with not only people who have lots and can repay us, but with those who cannot repay us.

T – Trust in the Almighty. All of us have become so self sufficient that we fail to seek the assistance of God. And when things crumble in life we lose hope. In this Christmas let us learn to trust in God at all times, good or bad.

M – Make genuine relationships. Today all our relationships have become a means to achieve something, the purity and innocence is lost. This Christmas let us learn to value and build true and lasting relationships.

A – Add a dash of love in everything you do. This Christmas let us make a strong resolution to carry the essence of love wherever we go and in whatever we do.

S – Shine as people of God. In this Christmas let us learn to follow Christ not only in words but also through our deeds and uphold the values of Christ through our life.

The Origin of Life and The Prebiotic Soup

The Origin of Life

Science would never be able to go beyond God, the sustainer of scientific principles.

Scientists are trying their best to define the origin of life. They think that it all started with a chemical evolution of simple matter into an organic soup called the prebiotic soup. The prebiotic soup apparently evolved into the present complex living organism. The scientists even think that inter-stellar meteorites carrying organic matter from outer space hit the earth and brought forth life. They are attributing complex intelligence to chemical bonds and are assuming that this evolved over the years to its present form.

Interestingly, the scientists are still struggling to explain the formation of complex carbohydrates by using the prebiotic theory. They cannot explain why only the left-handed isomer (mirror-image) of amino acids is used by living beings and not the right-handed isomer. If they cannot explain the simple formation of carbohydrates and proteins, in the origin of the prebiotic soup, how can they explain the unimaginable complexities of the highly developed organism?

NASA does not put the components of a rocket and allow it to evolve into a rocket. Computer engineers have never seen a computer evolving itself from its components. If scientists know that complex machines cannot evolve by itself, why do they attribute complex intelligence to chemical bonds? It does not make sense.

The pride of man is worst when he is intelligent. It even becomes hypocritical. Intelligent men often shut their mind to simple child-like reasoning, when it comes to the question of intelligent design by a creator. They attribute self-evolving intelligence to matter, with out even opening their mind to the possibility of a creator.

God has given us rational mind. We should use it rationally. God is the author of every scientific principle and it is his Spirit of wisdom that gives us understanding about the complexities of the universe. Humans are rational beings as we are created in the image of God. God does not want us to be irrational and ignorant. He put the Spirit of knowledge in us.

It is hypocritical to put complex intelligence to created things like chemical bonds rather than acknowledging that life is the creation of a highly intelligent superior being called God. Never put glory to created things, but give all glory to the creator.

Science will cease to be science when we put original intelligence to created chemicals. Science will then become like a pagan religion, which worship created things and attribute glory to the creature rather than to the creator.
