You Never Know Who Is Watching Your Actions

You Never Know Who Is Watching You

Several years ago a young priest moved to London. He often took the bus from his home to the downtown area. Some weeks after he arrived, he had occasion to ride a bus. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him twenty pence too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, ‘you better give the twenty pence back. It would be wrong to keep it’.

Then he thought, ‘Oh forget it, it’s only twenty pence.’ Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company already gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a gift from the Almighty, and keep quiet’.

When his stop came, the priest paused momentarily at the door, then he handed the twenty pence back to the driver and said: “Here, you gave me too much change.”

The driver with a smile replied: “Aren’t you the new parish priest in this area? I have been thinking lately about going to worship at your Church. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change.”

When the young priest stepped off the bus, his knees became weak and soft. He had to grab the nearest light pole and held for support, and looked up to the heavens and cried:

“Oh my Jesus, I almost sold your Christianity for twenty pence!”

We may never see what impact our actions have on people… Sometimes we are the only “Bible” someone will ever read, or the only Christianity someone will see. What we need to provide is an example for others to see. Be careful of how you behave, and be honest always: you never know who is watching your actions.

Sex, God And Marriage

Sex, God And Marriage

Discover the truth about Sex, God and Marriage.

In Sex, God, and Marriage we find a message needed today in every part of the world. To be pure, to remain pure, can only come at a price, the price of knowing God and of loving him enough to do his will. He will always give us the strength we need to keep purity as something beautiful for God.

Purity is the fruit of prayer. If families pray together they will remain in unity and purity, and love each other as God loves each one of them. A pure heart is the carrier of God’s love, and where there is love, there is unity, joy, and peace. – – – Foreword written by Mother Teresa

Jesus Christ Is The Bridge

Jesus Christ The Bridge

Jesus Christ is The Bridge

Jesus, being perfect in all aspects, bridged the gap between God and man, by becoming the only God-Man – completely divine, yet completely human at the same time. He is the King of kings, yet also the servant of us all. He is our savior and redeemer, one that understands our weaknesses and infirmities.

There had to be a way to bridge the gap, to SAVE mankind from eternal separation from God. Jesus Christ is that bridge.

When I was a child, I lived in what was known locally as “the forks of the river”. In order to go into town, we had to travel a dirt road and cross the river over an iron bridge. As progress came, the road was eventually paved and a concrete bridge built, replacing the outdated iron bridge. Now, in the twenty-first century, another bridge has been built beside the first one, and there are now four lanes of traffic crossing the river at this point.

I am often reminded of our need for bridges to connect us with other areas. Unless these bridges have strong foundations, they will not support the traffic that passes over them. In the same way, we need to build our lives on the foundation of Christ, that we may be strong enough to support the loads we are asked to carry and to stay connected with the source.

John 14:6 – Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Just as there was no way for me as a child to get out of my “forks in the river” except to cross the iron bridge, there is no way for us today to find eternal life except through Jesus Christ. He is our only link to eternity.

Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the bridge to everlasting life!

Prayer: Lord, help us to understand that there are no other roads leading to eternal life except the one You created. Amen.
