Story : Window Through Which We Look

Window Through Which We Look

A young couple moved into a new neighborhood. The next morning while they were eating breakfast, the young woman watched her neighbor hanging wash outside.

“That laundry is not very clean,” she said. “She doesn’t know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap.”

Her husband looked on, but remained silent.

Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry, the young woman would make the same comments.

About one month later, the woman was surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband,

“Look, she has learned how to wash correctly.I wonder who taught her this.”

The husband said, “I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows.”

And so it is with life. What we see when watching others may depend on the purity of the window through which we look.

Focus On The Treasure

Jesus Priceless Treasure

There is an interesting story about Walt Disney, the man who tremendously impacted the entertainment industry in the 20th century.

Once when Walt went to see a large piece of property to build one of his dream projects, he found it as a treasure. But many others saw it as just acres of land without trees, streams and mountains. Even when different voices dissuaded him from buying the property, he went ahead in acquiring it because, in his mind’s eye, he saw his world-famous Disney Land with artificial streams and mountains and a whole lot of world-class entertainment stuff in that property!

This sounds similar to our experience as we follow Christ.

When we saw Jesus, we found an unmatchable Treasure! When situations and people try to dissuade us from following Him, we continue to fix our gaze on Him because in Jesus we find life, healing, favor, wealth, protection and productivity which we don’t get from anywhere else.

Be assured today that no one can steal this Treasure from you. This Treasure gives you your identity and self worth. Keep holding on to it and you will continue to enjoy true success!

“Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end.” – Hebrews 12:2
