Prayer For Priests

Prayer For Priests

Keep them, I pray Thee, dearest Lord,
Keep them, for they are Thine –
Thy priests whose lives burn out before
Thy consecrated shrine.
Keep them, for they are in the world,
Though from the world apart;
When earthly pleasures tempt, allure, –
Shelter them in Thy heart.
Keep them, and comfort them in hours
Of loneliness and pain,
When all their life of sacrifice
For souls seems but in vain.
Keep them, and O remember, Lord,
They have no one but Thee,
Yet they have only human hearts,
With human frailty.
Keep them as spotless as the Host.
That daily they caress;
Their every thought and word and deed,
Deign, dearest Lord, to bless.

Our Father… Hail Mary…Mary, Queen of the Clergy, pray for them.

Prayer Of Those Who Cannot Go To Holy Mass

Prayer Of Those Who Cannot Go To Holy Mass

Another year is over and I take this time to reflect how God beautifully helped me to build up my faith and love for him. There were good times and some unpleasant ones, but he is always there to lead and guide me to the promise of his own peace (John 14:27). His instructions are just and clear and we only need to abide by them to see the Lord’s great plan for each one of us with blessing and victory in everything (Isaiah 48:18).

So nicely our Bishop Paul Hinder wrote in his pastoral letter 2011 “Do this in memory of me” (Luke 22:19). And truly he has brought forth his childhood experience in his family and prayer that helped him in his vocation to serve our Lord. Also the in-depth mystery of the scripture was unfolded in simplicity to have a better understanding in areas that we could bring a change or strengthen our faith towards God.

I would like to share one of the topic he touched “Spiritual communion for those who cannot go to Mass” where he shares his childhood memories of saying the below prayer when going to church was difficult. Our commitment towards our family and work does at times force us to give second priority for Holy Mass and to everything we do. Let us seek the Kingdom of God first and surely we will find our Lord’s glory (Mathew 6:33).

In this part of the world, we do have limited choice, so let us say this beautiful prayer to our Guardian Angel to bring forth the Lord’s presence. Let the prayer be said in utmost reverence to the Risen Lord in faith and obedience.

Prayer of Those who cannot go to Holy Mass

Dear Guardian Angel, go for me to the church; there kneel down at Mass for me. At the Offertory, take me to God, and offer Him my service: What I am, what I have, offer as my gift. At the Consecration, with your seraphic strength, adore my Saviour truly present, praying for those who have loved me, for those who have offended me, and for those now deceased, that the blood of Jesus may purify them all. During Holy Communion, bring to me the body and blood of Jesus uniting Him with me in spirit, so that my heart may become His dwelling place. Plead with Him, that through His sacrifice all people throughout the world may be saved. When the Mass ends, bring home to me and to every home, the Lord’s blessing. Amen.

Holy Mass Quotes

Holy Mass Quotes

The Mass is the most perfect form of prayer! ~ Pope Paul VI

For each Mass we hear with devotion, Our Lord sends a saint to comfort us at death. ~ Revelation of Christ to St. Gertrude the Great

Once, St. Teresa was overwhelmed with God’s Goodness and asked Our Lord “How can I thank you?” Our Lord replied, “ATTEND ONE MASS.”

The Blessed Virgin Mary once told Her faithful servant Alain: “My Son so loves those who assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass that, if it were necessary He would die for them as many times as they’ve heard Masses.”

The Holy Mass would be of greater profit if people had it offered in their lifetime, rather than having it celebrated for the relief of their souls after death. ~ Pope Benedict XV

A great doctor of the Church, St. Anselm, declares that a single Mass offered for oneself during life may be worth more than a thousand celebrated for the same intention after death. St. Leonard of Port Maurice supports this statement by saying that one Mass before death may be more profitable than many after it.

When we receive Holy Communion, we experience something extraordinary – a joy, a fragrance, a well being that thrills the whole body and causes it to exalt. ~ Saint Jean Vianney

The celebration of Holy Mass is as valuable as the death of Jesus on the cross. ~ Saint Thomas Aquinas

If we really understood the Mass, we would die of joy. ~ Saint Jean Vianney

There is nothing so great as the Eucharist. If God had something more precious, He would have given it to us. ~ Saint Jean Vianney

It would be easier for the world to survive without the sun than to do without Holy Mass. ~ St. Pio of Pietrelcina (Padre Pio), stigmatic priest

When we have been to Holy Communion, the balm of love envelops the soul as the flower envelops the bee. ~ Saint Jean Vianney

The heavens open and multitudes of angels come to assist in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. ~ Saint Gregory

The angels surround and help the priest when he is celebrating Mass. ~ St. Augustine

When Mass is being celebrated, the sanctuary is filled with countless angels who adore the divine victim immolated on the altar. ~ St. John Chrysostom
