A doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an urgent surgery. He answered the call asap, changed his clothes and went directly to the surgery block. He found the boy’s father going and coming in the hall waiting for the doctor. Once seeing him, the dad yelled: “Why did you take all this time to come? Don’t you know that my son’s life is in danger? Don’t you have the sense of responsibility?â€
The doctor smiled and said: “I am sorry, I wasn’t in the hospital and I came the fastest I could after receiving the call…… And now, I wish you’d calm down so that I can do my workâ€
“Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now, would you calm down? If your own son dies now what will you do??†said the father angrily.
The doctor smiled again and replied: “I will say what Job said in the Holy Book – “From dust we came and to dust we return, blessed be the name of Godâ€. – Doctors cannot prolong lives. Go and intercede for your son, we will do our best by God’s graceâ€
“Giving advice when we’re not concerned is so easy†Murmured the father.
The surgery took some hours after which the doctor went out happy, “Thank goodness!, your son is saved!†And without waiting for the father’s reply he carried on his way running. “If you have any question, ask the nurse!!â€
“Why is he so arrogant? He couldn’t wait some minutes so that I ask about my son’s state†Commented the father when seeing the nurse minutes after the doctor left.
The nurse answered, tears coming down her face: “His son died yesterday in a road accident, he was in the burial when we called him for your son’s surgery. And now that he saved your son’s life, he left running to finish his son’s burial.â€
NEVER JUDGE ANYONE because You never know how their life is & as to what is happening or what they’re going through.
it definately has taught me smthn sch a touching story…;(
Do not judge is partial truth; a oft-misquoted scripture that is missing the other portion of Jesus’ teaching. The full truth is “Judge righteous judgment.” John 7:24 Amplified Bible Be honest in your judgment and do not decide at a glance (superficially and by appearances); but judge fairly and righteously.
the scripture says, you dont have right to judge others. only our god can do that. you should not look….in others eye but look at….. in ur eyes. Its just like throwing stone at others from a glass house.
Wow!..honestly,am touched with this short and awesome story.but mostly important,I have learnt not to ulter anything agaist my fellow brethren.I ‘ve got to have patience in life and not to judge anyone at all.”Am crying on behalf of the father to the child.”please ‘Doctor, forgive me!
Thanks alot.
Oh what a wonderful touchy story!. This story teaches us not to jurdge others, because their situations at the moment might be worse than ours. Though it is not easy to apply sense or reason with others when we are desperate or pushed to the wall, but we must try, through the grace of God and power of the holy spirit.
Do not judge so that your conscience do not beat you later, as in the case of the sick son’s father!
ONLY INFINITE GOD CAN JUDGE. INCOMPLETE MAN’S JUDJEMENT WILL ALWAYS BE INCOMPLETE . HENCE WHY JUDJE OTHERS?
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for a job well done.I have learned a lot from your link. May God bless you.
thanks GOD. it touches
WOW… what a powerful story. For the Doctor to be there to save a life when he had just lost his son. It shows we all need to think about our words and actions because we have no clue what others are going through.
Dear,
Is this a true story?
Thanks,
do not judge so that you won’t be judge because the measure you use will be used to judge you
lam really very touched with the doctors action. This doctors for sure he really answered a call to serve others that is to say being at the service of others regardless of our own needs. That is what we are all called to be. This doctor has a total commitment to his God for the mission given to him. it is this commitment that God gave him joy or smile despite the death of his Son for his own healing and the healing of others; thus why he has to smile to the father l need. God help me to be a good citizen.
