Jesus said, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere — in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – (Acts 1:8)
Everywhere! That pretty much covers the world, doesn’t it?
The amazing thing is that this rag tag bunch of nobodies from nowhere did it. They began a movement that has endured time, cultural differences, geographical distances, persecution, martyrdom, apathy, and misunderstanding. Just as the splash of a stone in a pond ripples out to touch every bit of shoreline, so also has the message of Jesus.
When the power of the Holy Spirit animates and motivates Jesus’ followers, they are compelled to care about all peoples and share the message of Jesus to the ends of the earth!
Prayer : Loving Father, I know you want all people to know of your love for them in Jesus. I pray that the Holy Spirit will work in me, convicting of my prejudices, calling up compassion for the broken of the world, propelling me to reach out to people around me, and moving me to give up myself and my resources to globally share the message of Jesus. I pray this for your glory and in the name of Jesus, my Lord. Amen.
