Poem : The Right Track

The Right Track

Lord I know you’re near to me
I know there’s nothing You can’t see
Help me to be all that You want me to be
Touch my mind, body and soul, set them free

You pick me up when I’m down
Even when it’s my sorrows I want to drown
You love me still in spite of myself
Mostly when I feel I have nothing left
You bless me over and over again

Now I wonder why I ever ran
Your love for me runs deeper than the days run long
It’s no wonder my love for You has grown strong
You have my back when it’s heart that I lack
With You by my side, now I’m on the right track.

It took me a lifetime to get this far
No one but You can see all the scars
I long for the day that they’ll all be healed
But right now it’s each and every one that I feel

The sad thing is: I could have avoided the fall
If I had only given You my all and all
You’ve never tried to force Your love on me
It was always there whenever I was in need

I’ll never find a love more special than Yours
I guess that’s why I kept opening doors trying to find a love that was true
Hmmm, maybe I’ll snap my fingers and it’ll appear out of the blue
I’ve already tried that fairy tale
That one is setup so you can only fail

Everything I need or want, I’ve found in You
The peace that I have is the absolute proof.

Poem : I Want To Love

I Want To Love

I want to love, Lord

I need to love.

All my being is desire;

My heart,

My body,

yearn in the night towards an unknown one to love.

My arms thrash about, and I can seize on no object for my love.

I am alone and want to be two. I speak, and no one is there to listen.

I live, and no one is there to share my life.

Why be so rich and have no one to enrich?

Where does this love come from?

Where is it going?

I want to love, Lord,

I need to love.

Here, this evening, Lord is all my love. . . .

Listen, son,

and make, silently, a long pilgrimage to the bottom of your heart.

Walk by the side of your love so new, as one follows a brook to find

its source, and, at the very end, deep within you, in the infinite

mystery of your troubled soul, you will meet me.

For I call myself Love, son,

And from the beginning I have been nothing but Love,

And Love is in you.

It is I who made you to love,

To love eternally;

And your love will pass through another self of yours

it is she that you seek;

Set your mind at rest; she is on your way,

on the way since the beginning,

the way of my love.

You must wait for her coming.

She is approaching.

You are approaching.

You will recognize each other,

For I’ve made her body for you, I’ve made yours for her.

I’ve made your heart for her, I’ve made hers for you.

And you seek each other, in the night,

In ‘my night,’ which will become Light if you trust me.

Keep yourself for her, son,

As she is keeping herself for you.

I shall keep you for one another,

And, since you hunger for love,

I’ve put on your way all your brothers to love.

Believe me, it’s a long apprenticeship, learning to love,

And there are not several kinds of love:

Loving is always leaving oneself to go towards others. . . .

Lord, help me to forget myself for others, my brothers,

That in giving myself I may teach myself to love.

No Regrets

Praying before bed

Isn’t it good at the end of the day,
To look up at God and be able to say,
“Dear Lord, I helped someone today.”
But isn’t it sad if instead we must say,
“Dear Lord, I hurt someone today,
I drove the nails a little bit deeper,
And forgot that I am my brother’s keeper.”
Isn’t it better when the day is done,
To know that you have injured no one?
From the time of your waking, till you lie down to sleep,
Remember the promises that we should keep,
To love one another as He loves us too,
And you’ll never regret any good that you do.
