Poem : Halo and Horns

Halo and Horns

The Halo and Horns part of me,
The struggle with soul and spirit,
The longing, the sadness,
The turning from truth…

The mourning of a wasted life
Oft spent in much misery.
The fear of breaking free,
The fear of leaving what I know
For the unknown…

The fear of loss of His promise
I am so a wretched sinner!
Only He can save me…from me.
Only He can restore what is lost…
The joy of my Salvation.

I am looking in the wrong place,
I am allowing temporal fleeting
Passions replace
Rationality…

I want to run from pain,
To work and be absorbed
In life’s fleeting moments,
To shut out all rational
Spiritual impressions.

Escape to the poison I know,
Like a drunk man,
Hooked on the thrill
Of conquest and victory…

Rising over the rest
As an Eagle.
Being best, by putting myself last.
Numbing the pain, again and again
With temporary thrills.

Rejecting His forgiveness.
Yet none of us will take anything here
Into the next world
Nor will any Soul.

We only leave a print
On the hearts of those we love,
And those who love us back deeply,
With abandon.

Lord have mercy.
Help me abandon myself
Over and over
To your Holy Will.

Poem : My Fiat

Mary's Fiat

Lord Jesus,
I want to be what
You want me to be,
And do what
You want me to do.

Lord,
You as the potter
I am as clay.
When I yield to you
I will be in Holy peace.

I love you Lord.
I know the plans
You have for me
Will transcend beyond
Any wildest dreams.

When I abandon myself
By saying Yes, Fiat!
Not my will,
But Yours Be done!
I choose to “Be Not Afraid”

Allow the fire of your love
To fan the flames,
Burn and consume
All of my will.

Come Holy Spirit,
Renew my Spirit
By Your Spirit.
Let me truly abandon myself
To do your will
By My Fiat!

Husband’s Prayer For Spouse With Alzheimer’s

Missing You

Missing You
Yet your essence stays,
Lost inside a mind
That strays.

What once we knew
Still locked inside,
I love you still
My lovely bride.

We made vows
To love till death.
I honor you
And do what’s best.

I love you so
Hoping you still know,
I am here for you
Lord, get me through.

I lift you up
To heaven each day,
I ask for healing
As I pray.

God gives us no more
Than we can bear,
He allows our trials
Yet comfort’s there.
His open arms
To run into.

Jesus I will love Her
Just Like you!
Jesus! Lord!
I trust in you!

Though He slay me, yet will I serve Him (Job 13:15)
