Poem : Broken Dreams

Broken-Dreams

As children bring their broken toys
With tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God
Because He was my friend.

But then instead of leaving Him
In peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help
With ways that were my own.

At last I snatched them back and cried,
“How could you be so slow”
“My child,” He said, “What could I do?
You never did let go.”

  1. If everyone else who has read this poem has found that the author is unknown, then how are you claiming to be the author? What year did you write and publish this?

  2. I have read and seen this poem many times over the past 35 years and never before seen and author credited….it has always been “anonymous” or “unknown”. How/where did you locate the author????

  3. I first saw this peom in 2004, and fell in love with it, and tried my best to cram it. Never known the authors name till today

  4. I copied it and put on my fridge and when I need to be reminded that I say I give my worries or problems to God but I really don’t its there to encourage me. Then I say (god. You are absolutely right I haven’t really given them to you then I repent for trying to tend to his business at that point he gives me peace. Thanks to God for anointing this author.
