We get a lot of emails asking who we are, so here it is: We’re twentysomething Christians. We want to break stereotypes, challenge status-quo and enact change through the media. We’re seeking God, living life and striving to impact the world around us. It’s pretty simple, really. Oh yeah, and we’re a self-contained, for-profit business not affiliated with any other companies, denominations or organizations. OUR PURPOSE:
Relevant Media Group is a multimedia company whose purpose is to impact culture and show that a relationship with God is relevant and essential to a fulfilled life. What We Believe

RELEVANT is a multimedia company looking to impact culture with the message that even though religion may be seen as irrelevant, a personal relationship with God is a relevant — and vital — aspect of a fulfilled life. We want to engage people in a conversation about faith. We want to challenge worldviews and cause people to see God outside the box they’ve put Him in.

We believe that God is alive and well and moving outside the four walls of the church (sometimes moreso than in it). That’s why we cover life issues and entertainment — to look at the things impacting our lives and culture. We believe a lot can be learned by looking more deeply at things that challenge you.

But we also believe in the importance of the Church and want to stop the mass exodus of our generation leaving it. We want to enact change from within (which is one of the reasons we started the RELEVANT Network).

Christians can’t be complacent living in a Christian bubble and never engaging the world they live in. We want to live the way Jesus did, hanging out with the very people religious leaders turned up their nose at. Through relationship, love and understanding the world was changed. We don’t believe in legalism and bigotry. We believe in dialogue — about Truth, about faith, about freedom in Christ.

Whether 20 years into it or just starting out, if you’re at this website you’re probably on a spiritual journey. Christianity is not a destination. No one has it all figured out. And because of that you’ll find that the articles in RELEVANT probably ask more questions than give answers, which is something we feel is vital to our spiritual growth. We need to never stop pursuing Truth and authenticity with passion.

But we do believe. We believe that eternal life and the only true freedom is found in Christ. We believe that a relationship with Him changes things forever. You are not the person you used to be after you find Him. You may not be perfect — we’re all sinners, after all — but you don’t live life the way you used to. Jesus told us to be in the world, yet not of it. We’re supposed to stand out and make a difference. We’re supposed to live for something bigger than ourselves.

Like we said, that’s not something we can magically attain overnight. Following Christ and figuring out what it means to be like Him is a life-long quest. It’s the hardest, longest and most rewarding thing we will ever undertake. It is what will define us — not only in this life, but the life to come.

For more information about Christianity, we recommend checking out the Bible (it is the source, after all) and finding a good local church where you can meet other people like you. Luckily, we have a directory of good ones right here. For all of you who want more theology about the Christian faith, here goes. We borrowed this from a church we like:

The Bible
We believe the Bible is the written Word of God. It leads us to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Being given by God the Scriptures are both fully and verbally inspired by God. Therefore, as originally given, the Bible is free of error in all it teaches. Each book is to be interpreted according to its context and purpose. All believers are exhorted to study the Scriptures and diligently apply them to their lives. The Scriptures are the authoritative and normative rule and guide of all Christian life, practice, and doctrine.

God Is Triune
There is one God: infinite, eternal, almighty, and perfect in holiness, truth, and love. In the unity of the godhead there are three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, co-existent, co-equal, co-eternal. The Father is not the Son and the Son is not the Holy Spirit, yet each is truly Deity. One God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – is the foundation of Christian faith and life.

God the Father
God the Father is the Creator of heaven and earth. He is faithful to every promise, works all things together for good to those who love him, and in his unfathomable grace gave his Son Jesus Christ for mankind’s redemption. He made man for fellowship with himself, and intended that all creation should live to the praise of his glory.

Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. He was perfect in nature, teaching and obedience. He is fully God and fully man. He was always with God and is God. He is the only Savior for the sins of the world, having shed his blood and died a vicarious death on Calvary’s cross. By his death in our place, he revealed the divine love and upheld divine justice, removing our guilt and reconciling us to God. Having redeemed us from sin, the third day he rose bodily from the grave, victorious over death and the powers of darkness and for a period of forty days appeared to over five hundred witnesses, performing many convincing proofs of his resurrection. He ascended into heaven where, at God’s right hand, he intercedes for his people and rules as Lord over all. He is the Head of his body, the Church.

The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life, convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. Through the proclamation of the gospel he persuades men to repent of their sins and confess Jesus as Lord. By the same Spirit a person is led to trust in divine mercy. The Holy Spirit unites believers to Jesus Christ in faith, brings about the new birth, and dwells within the regenerate. The Holy Spirit has come to glorify the Son who in turn came to glorify the Father. He will lead the Church into a right understanding and rich application of the truth of God’s Word.

The Church
The Church is not a religious institution or denomination. Rather, the Church universal is made up of those who have become genuine followers of Jesus Christ and have personally appropriated the gospel. The Church exists to worship and glorify God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It also exists to serve him by faithfully doing his will in the earth. This involves a commitment to see the gospel preached and churches planted in all the world for a testimony. The ultimate mission of the Church is the making of disciples through the preaching of the gospel.

Vincent and Pauline Matherick : Foster Parents Who Refused to Teach Homosexuality resign

Vincent and Pauline Matherick, who have fostered 28 children, are having to resign because they refuse to teach their foster children that homosexuality is okay.

Earlier this week, the Mathericks were asked to sign a contract to implement new Sexual Orientation Regulations as part of the Equality Act 2006 which makes discrimination based on sexuality illegal. Under the agreement, they would be required to discuss homosexual relationships with children as young as 11 and tell them that such relationships are just as acceptable as heterosexual ones. They could even be required to take teenagers to gay association meetings. When the couple refused, they were told that they would be taken off register of foster parents. Rather than face the humiliation of expulsion, the Mathericks elected to resign. However, they are planning on taking their case to court with the help of the Lawyer’s Christian Fellowship.

Mr Matherick, a 65-year-old retired travel agent and a primary school governor, said: “I simply could not agree to do it because it is against my central beliefs. We have never discriminated against anybody but I cannot preach the benefits of homosexuality when I believe it is against the word of God.”

This travesty comes at a time when there is a severe shortage of volunteer foster parents. Despite research showing that moving a child from home to home is detremental to its welfare, some foster children are forced to move up to 3 times a year. In order to rectify the problem, another 8,000 volunteer foster homes would be needed.

The 11 year old boy the couple had been looking after will be placed in a council hostel on Friday.

Religious campaigners say Vincent and Pauline Matherick are the latest victims of an equality drive which puts gay rights above religious beliefs.

August 29th, 2008 – Find Your Purpose Preview

Hi firendz, last week I also came across this wonderful YouTube brother, but it is way apart from its sibling. The site contains thousands of videos , mind you, all are spiritual ones. The name of the site is

Ya, I admit Youtube may already contain many of the videos these people have in here. I like Youtube and its simply awesome. Millions of videos on almost any topic under the Sun and above it. But….but…. we all know the bad part also. YouTube has millions of sex videos, nude or semi-nude videos, violent videos etc etc which may not be suitable for minors and even for those among You who wish to walk with God. Ya, If someone tags them as inappropriate, they will be removed.I know. But why take the risk till the tagging comes?

Thats where GodTube comes in. The site is still in its BETA. But I saw a couple of videos there and Woww…they are buffered fast and clear, I should say. I also embedded one in this blog itself, showing an interview with Barack Obama on What does being a christian mean to You?. So guys, go and check out this great website,

Jesus Christ is the foundation and cornerstone of the church. Because of His love demonstrated on the cross by dying for our sins, we now have reason to fellowship with one another and proclaim salvation through His life and resurrection. We place great emphasis on teaching the Bible in public, studying it in private and using it as a guide for our daily lives. We encourage Christian growth by abiding in Jesus Christ through His Word, prayer, fellowship and by yielding our lives to the Holy Spirit. Our endeavor is to show a Christ-like love to all men, and we feel it should be exhibited in our lives by our words as well as our actions. Our goal is to develop the ministry of every member to the benefit of all. We feel we are held accountable to help people connect with Jesus Christ and experience the gift of eternal life.
