The World of The Young

Purple, green, red and blue!
Sparkling glittering and pretty good.
I don’t know which one to choose,
so I frame the question back to you.

If all of life were calm and cool,
And all mankind will play the fool,
Won’t black be black and white be white?

But here we sit on a single table,
surrounded with choices right and wrong;
fed with words of the young and old,
left with feelings warm and cold!

Scream, shout, sing and dance.
Teachers, Elders, priests and scribes.
wisdom, knowledge, laws, commands.
The choice is yours as well as mine.

You take it now or leave it behind.
Call it truth or say whatever!
Lost for a moment or lost for ever.

Purple, green, red and blue.

Let this truth be understood.
The world of the young is really good!

Why people curse my name
Why when trouble happens
I’m always to blame

I’m just a drink
Made to quench the thirst
After having several
Most people behave worse

I’m made from wheat
Barely, rice or malt
Because people enjoy me
It’s not my fault

Some drink for courage
Some drink for fun
Some to look cool
Some to become numb

No matter the reason
I’m still just a drink
It’s up to you to control
Your actions and what you think

Some people act stupid
When filled with me
Others laughing, some abusive
I affect everyone differently

Remember it’s the person
Who has the control?
So stop making me
Play the bad-guy role

Many times when people had been drinking and bad situations happen , others blame their behavior on beer, “he was drinking”, “ignore it it was just the beer talking,” “i did that only because i was drinking” etc….

People who drink and act stupid or do something they normally wouldn’t do need to stand up and take responsibility for their behavior, it wasn’t the beer, it was YOU, you choose to react in a certain way while drinking, which gives you the perfect excuse.

Do you blame your bad behavior on soda, “oh forgive me i was drinking mountain dew last night,”. Anyway I wrote this poem then gave it to my sister after listening to her use drinking beer as her excuse for her wrong behavior and choices. – Angela Hutcherson-Jenkins

Holy, Holy Spirit Poem

Holy, Holy Spirit, I have quenched your flame.
I received you, but I grieved you
when conviction came.

Holy, Holy Spirit, whom I have despised,
Jesus sent you and He meant you
when He prophesied

that He would send the Holy Spirit
showing me the way
and leading me into the truth,
the truth I disobey,
revealing life and liberty
that I have shoved away.

Holy, Holy Spirit, present in my heart,
I repent of grieving your love.
Please do not depart.

Holy, Holy Spirit, when I hear your voice,
confirmation of salvation
makes my heart rejoice!

Come Holy Spirit Poem

Come, Holy Spirit, come in power
You wish us all to bloom and flower
Fill us now with all we need
Change us, as on You we feed.

Help us concentrate on You
Waiting for Your point of view
Show us where we need to change
Our priorities, rearrange.

Lead us to The precious Lamb
Father God’s most loving plan
Let us celebrate Him now
And to Him lets make a vow.

We desire to seek His face
Put Him in His proper place
Head of all we say and do
Come, Holy Spirit, help us to.
