When You Thought I Wasn’t Looking

When you thought I wasn't looking

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw you hang my
First painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately
Wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw you feed a
Stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind
To animals.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I heard you say a
Prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always
Talk to, and I learned to trust in Him.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw you make a
Meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I
Learned that we all have to help take care of each other.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw you take care
Of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have
To take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw how you
Handled your responsibilities, even when you didn’t
Feel good, and I learned that I would have to be
Responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw tears come
From your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things
Hurt, but it’s all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw that you
Cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I learned most of
life’s lessons that I need to know to be a good and
Productive person when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I looked at you and
Wanted to say, ‘Thanks for all the things I saw when
You thought I wasn’t looking.’

A message every adult should read because children
Are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say.

I am sending this to all of the people I know
Who do so much for others,
But think that no one ever sees.
Little eyes see a lot.

Each of us (parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, teacher, friend) influences the life of a child.

How will you touch the life of someone today? Just by sending this article to someone else, you will probably make them at least think about their influence on others.

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak Kindly.

These pictures are not really just for children but for all. As you can see the religious art on this site is not cartoonish but as realistic as possible and tasteful. It’s really geared for the young adult believer who is fascinated with the literal fundamental teaching of the Bible.

Prayer For Your Children

Prayer For Your Children

Hasn’t God placed children under your care and supervision? Are you not a teacher of Susie and Johnnie? A care-taker of Sophia and Raga? A mother of Veni, Mercy? A grand-mother of Aruna and Bindhia?

Do you pray for them – at all? How do you pray?

Here is a PRAYER for you, for your CHILDREN:-

We pray for the children
who sneak popsicles before supper,
who erase holes in math workbooks,
who can never find their shoes.

And we pray for those
who stare at photographers from behind barbed wire,
who can’t bound down the street in a new pair of sneakers,
who never “counted potatoes,”
who are born in places where we wouldn’t be caught dead,
who never go to the circus,
who live in an X-rated world.

We pray for children
who bring us sticky kisses and fistfuls of dandelions,
who hug us in a hurry and forget their lunch money.

And we pray for those
who never get dessert,
who have no safe blanket to drag behind them,
who watch their parents watch them die,
who can’t find any bread to steal,
who don’t have any rooms to clean up,
whose pictures aren’t on any body’s dresser,
whose monsters are real.

We pray for children
who spend all their allowance before Tuesday,
who throw tantrums in the grocery store and pick at their food,
who like ghost stories,
who shove dirty clothes under the bed,
who never rinse out the tub,
who get visits from the tooth fairy,
who don’t like to be kissed in front of the carpool,
who squirm in church and scream in the phone,
whose tears we sometimes laugh at and
whose smiles can make us cry.

And we pray for those
whose nightmares come in the daytime,
who will eat anything,
who have never seen a dentist,
who aren’t spoiled by anybody,
who go to bed hungry and cry themselves to sleep,
who live and move, but have no being.

We pray for children
who want to be carried and for those who must,
who we never give up on
and for those who don’t get a second chance.
For those we smother and . . .
for those who will grab the hand of anybody kind enough to offer it
Amen.

Whatever falls on them makes an impression.” – (Dr. Haim Ginott)

Caution: Take care about the impressions you make on those wet cement plots….!
