O God, bless me in this illness that has come to me.
Make me a good patient, always obedient to the doctor’s instruction,
Always cheerful and always uncomplaining.
I bring to you all the other people who are ill and in pain.
Help them and help me to get better soon.
Thank you for all the people who look after me so well,
And for all that they do for me.
Help me to show my gratitude by never grumbling or complaining
And by being cheerful even when it is difficult to be.
This I ask for your love’s sake, Amen.
