Nowadays we hear a question more frequently:-
Is Homosexuality Right or Wrong?
My dear friend, don’t be in any doubt. Homosexuality is wrong in every way and mind you, I am telling this about both male and female homosexuality. Let us consider where does the Bible state it as a sin. (It is mentioned in several scriptures.)
In Romans 1, the Apostle Paul stated that women who change their natural use just like men (verse 27) are in error or sin. God dislikes male homosexuality on the same level as female homosexuality.
” . . . And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. ” (Romans 1:23-26)
Jude 7 states Sodom and Gomorrah gave themselves over to strange flesh which included both men and women. He said when God rained down fire and brimstone which was an example of them being thrown in the Lake of Fire, it revealed how evil God looks upon homosexuality.
“Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” (Jude 7)
However, what is more important than homosexuality being a sin is why God detests homosexuality and what is bad about it.
In I Corinthians 15 God states He is reproducing Himself by having sons. We are all to be God’s sons in His family in His Kingdom.
What is bad about homosexuality is it is against God’s purpose of building sons in His family.
You cannot produce children through homosexuality or even worse bestiality.
In Leviticus 18 God shows committing bestiality like homosexuality causes sexual confusion.
“Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination. Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it [is] confusion. Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:” (Lev. 18:22-24)
It is confusion because God ordained reproduction through kind after its kind ( Genesis 1). Homosexuality and bestiality are against God’s way of sex. You can only produce children of kind after kind or between male and female. This is God’s Law. Anything contrary to fulfilling God producing sons in His family is a sin!

First let me say I thoroughly love your website, however I totally disagree with this article on homosexuality.
When reading the bible, we have to look at what we are reading more carefully. We have to examine what lens the writers were looking through when they processed their inspirations.
For example, much of the scripture depicts God as living high above the earth and dwelling in the clouds. Through Christ we now know that God is Spirit and dwells not only everywhere around us, but in us as well. We know that the kingdom of God is not a castle situated on a cloud, but it is within us now. After death we know it is not necessarily a physical place, but rather a spiritual place in the presence of God.
So when looking at homosexuality we have to look at the lens in which the writers were processing their inspiration through.
The ancients looked at heterosexuality as the only natural orientation for 2 reasons:
1. it is how procreation takes place
2. it afforded a male to have dominence over a female
The ancients considered a man cursed if he could not reproduce. A man was considered blessed if his quiver was full. If the ancients considered it a curse not to be able to reproduce, then any sexual behavior outside of that vein would be considered a mockery of sexual intention. They base natural and moral sex on the ability to reproduce; not love.
There are plenty of example in the bible of this. Just look at Abraham. He and Sarah could not concieve. Sarah found a maid named Hagar and hooked her up with her husband. Sarah wanted Abraham to be blessed( according to an ancient mindset)
Women were considered property, chattel if you will. Women were considered “less than” their male counterparts, in mnay ways like today. Male offspring was considered much more desirable then female, because it was believed the blood line was preserved through the male.
When two men engaged in a sexual or loving relationship, the ancients believed that one of those men would have to take on the roll of the woman. One of those men would have to be submissive to the dominant. For a man to assume the submissive would be to become effeminate, which would bring shame upon any man because it meant that he would become “as a woman”
So the ancients perceived homosexuality as being an abomination to God because it di not lend itself to procreation and it mocked the supremecy of the male gender.
This is the lens in which the ancients viewed homosexuality.
I believe much of ancient religious culture would consider homosexuality an abomination for the reasons above, therefore I beleive the bible presents a very skewed view of truth.
I believe Jesus Christ came to correct wrong thinking.Jesus talked about alot of things, but one thing there is no account of him ever addressing is homosexuality. One would have to wonder why. Some say it was a given that it was wrong. And many of the other things Jesus talked about weren’t? Child abuse is obviously very wrong yet Jesus talked about it. I don’t think homosexuality as an orientation is an abomination to God and that is why Jesus never said anything about it.
Some scriptures we need to clear up:
The scripture in Romans does not condemn homosexuality as an orientation. It condemns temple prostitution. I myself am a Christian who is gay. There are many of us out there. As God continues to expose wrong thinking, more and more churches are taking a second look at homosexuality and are opening their doors not only as welcoming churches, but affirming churches to the Christian gay community.
The scripture in Romans does not describe gay Christians. Gay Christian love God and the teachings of Jesus Christ. They are not worshipping idols.
Sodom was not destroyed because of homosexuality like Jude suggests. In Ezekiel we read that Sodom was destroyed because it was not a hospitable city. Love was not present in that city. Would God be angry at such a city? God IS love, so maybe God would.
In Galations where it says no homosexuals will enter heaven…in the original manuscripts, the word ” homosexual” was not even used. If anything it was a word with a definition of moreso “effeminate”. This would again lend itself to more ancient ideology. With this definition. many straight men are in trouble as I know plenty of effeminate straight men.
To God, a natural and acceptable sexual relationship is based on mutual love between 2 cosenting adults, regardless of gender. Gender has nothing to do with it. In Christ, there is no male or female. There is however love.
Looking back over the last 40 years, we can see how the Holy Spirit is destroying wrong thinking. Many people are coming to Christ or coming back to Christ as the Holy Spirit enables them to reconcile their faith and orientation. We see this as churches are being born and gay christian organizations are flourishing. I myself belong to a world wide Gay Christian organization that is growing at a phenomenal rate. We also see Christian artists such as Jennifer Knapp, Ray Boltz, etc. coming out and others such as Derek Webb from Caedmons Call or Cynthia Clawson being supportive of them. God is moving. People are coming to Christ all over the world. Gay Christians are everywhere.
I am not a theology major. But a friend of mine is. Here is his website:
Here are just a couple out of many other websites:

Oh, how did I find your website? I host a summer event for gay christians that has experienced a 70% growth in just 4 years and I was looking for songs for our worship session.
Peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you,
Gary
Gary, you’re wrong, in accordance with what the article itself says as well as Hosea 4:6, Hebrews 13:4, Leviticus 20:13, and Proverbs 14:34.
My prayer be that the true and living God will move across your heart and that you be healed.
As a celibate gay Christian man who recognizes homosexual sex as sinful, and struggles daily to overcome my inner desires to find love with another man, do you mind if I make a suggestion? Don’t use an image of a very good-looking man wearing a tank top, with attractive arms, for this article. Many gay men, including myself, have a problem with lust at the mere sight of another good looking man. So when I came to this webpage, I found it very distracting. I’m sure that wasn’t your intention. I’m just sayin’….
How can one be a practicing gay and say he is a Christian? The two don’t seem to line up with what Scripture really says.
Mankind has wanted to justify sin since the beginning of time. Man and woman put the blame on God from the Garden and we still do the same today, by saying things like: Why did God make me like this…
Most of the blame is on ourselves and the choices we have made throughout life. If I continue to drink on a regular basis, I will have issues with Alcohol. If I hang out with the wrong crowd, I will eventually do what they do.
If I…and this relates to our choices we make…
Let’s not forget that what choices we make effects everyone around us. If no one is around to show what a Man looks like, then what is that child to think he is to do? If a woman is not around to show what a woman looks like, then what does that child begin to do?
That is a reason for marriage (man and woman), family life, ect., and possibly one of the many reasons why divorce should not happen in families.
I have struggled in areas myself and know that the more choices I make toward a lifestyle the more I grow accustomed to it and begin to justify that way of life and feel that it is OK.
Truth stands firm. Truth never changes no matter how we distort it. The truth is that Homosexuality is wrong, per the Bible and basic common sense. No matter how we twist Scripture, we can not deny the truth that Man and Woman were made in the Garden, and if God wanted man and man, this would have happened, or if God wanted woman and woman, this would have happened.
Since there is a man and a woman, the natural response would be that is the way God must have desinged it. Reproduction can not happen without a man and a woman.
What else can one say? Not much to one who chooses to justify their own sin and won’t admit where they are wrong.
God Bless!
Dear God, help the ones that judge homosexuality. Help them to understand. Let them know that we are created in your image and you do not make mistakes. Help them to understand that we do not choose this life, it was a gift from you, Lord. We ask today Lord that they will realize that casting judgment straight from their mouths, is not what you wish us to do. Thank you Lord for giving me the courage to pray for others. As always Lord allow us to due your will and not our own. In your name Lord Jesus I pray, Amen
Really, people? I’m researching the different takes on homosexuality and I am speaking from someone who sees that there is nothing wrong with homosexuality. Whether the person be married, having sex, or even adopting a child. As long as it doesn’t affect anyone except the people in direct relationship with the person, why is it such a big deal?
I am a Christian, but I do not associate myself with the “Christians” that hate someone because of something they cannot control. If God hated homosexuals, why would He not just fix them? Why would he place the people that he loves unconditionally in Hell? And if that’s the case, why the homosexuals that could be good people? Why do murderers and rapists get to live in heaven if they believe in God?
It is very obnoxious that the straight people of the world hate the homosexuals with such a passion that they feel the need to bring the fear of God into this. Granted, God is a big part of this, but aren’t homosexuals afraid enough to come out to their family, and then they get attacked by “Christians” who are saying they are sinners and should be thrown to Hell?
Lucas, you are a strong person for praying that. Thank you for not being angered by this article or the comments. You are an amazing person.
I am not a Homosexual and so i do not find it troubling to talk about and listen to the sinful aspect of homosexuality, but then we are natural that we find the opposite sex attractive and therefore wouldn’t think about another man/woman in the same way. but what if u were attracted to the same sex. what if u tried to control it but tou just cant find a person of the opposite sex appealing. what if your hormones were in such a way that you ended up being attracted to the same sex??? what then? I dont support gay behaviour, but thats easy for me to say. i just want answers to my doubts please.
I am someone who has struggled with homosexuality and still does. We are born into sin. The bible is not a mistake, therefore when it says “Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.”(Lev 18:22) that to me is pretty clear. We can not break it down to fit our lives. When the bible says “though shalt not lie”(Ex 20:16) it means though shalt not lie. We can not break it down to fit our lives. I believe homosexuality is your cross that you bear. “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it.”(Mark 8:34-35) Also, we are not to have sex before marriage,(1 cor 6:18) again that is not a mistake in the bible. We can not pick and choose what we want to live by. All that being said, we have to remember Gods GRACE!(Eph 2:8) He knows our struggles and he is there for us. God is a forgiving God. I do think we have to try our best to overcome sin, but we are ALL sinners and God knows our hearts.
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.(1 Cor 6:18-20
I am pretty sure that when we get to heaven there will not be a bar stool to sit on and drink your alcohol, there will not be a gossip room to go gossip in, there will not be a place to go lay with the same sex and have your way, there will not be a knife or gun to pick up and use on another… We need to live as best we can as we are in heaven. The kingdom of God is within ourselves. I think it is worth it to live by the bible then argue what it says. It’s NOT easy but, the reward is great!!
So yes I do believe that homosexuality is a sin… along with lying, stealing, murder, fornication, jealousy, anger, judgement, pridefulness, vanity, etc… I try my best not to act out but I fail at times and I ask forgiveness and move on. Gods knows our hearts and struggles.
I pray many blessings and the strength to overcome our weaknesses.
