Abba Father, we your children in the Jesus Youth movement praise and thank you in this Jubilee year for all the wonders of your love and mercy towards us. Guide and protect us as we journey through life.

Lord Jesus, help us to remain faithful to your Word and to the teachings of the Church, to grow in faith, hope and love, and to be present to the needs of others, as we live our call to proclaim the Good news, so that all people may come to know you as their Lord and Savior.

O Holy Spirit, source and strength of our Christian life, grant us the grace to be docile to your voice and to share the fire within us.

We call upon you, O most Holy Trinity, with Mary, our Mother, and Saint Francis, our patron, to make this Jubilee a year of grace. Refined in thy fire, Renewed by thy Spirit, Radiant in thy holiness, may we become a gift to the Church and the world. Amen.

Dear Lord,

There is no greater feeling of liberation than to experience this freedom from sin and death that you have provided for me through Jesus Christ. Today my heart and my soul are free to praise you. For this I am very thankful.

On this Independence Day I am reminded of all those who have sacrificed for my freedom, following the example of your Son, Jesus Christ. Let me not take my freedom, both physical and spiritual, for granted. May I always remember that my freedom was purchases with a very high price. My freedom cost others their very lives.

Lord, today, bless those who have served and continue to give their lives for my freedom. With favor and bounty meet their needs and watch over their families.

Help me to live my life in a way that glorifies you, Lord. Give me the strength to be a blessing in someone else’s life today, and grant me the opportunity to lead others into the freedom that can be found in knowing Christ.

Prayer before a Journey

Lord our God, before you there are no secrets;
nothing is hidden from your eyes
and nothing happens without your permission.

Grant me the happiness of beginning this trip
entrusted to you;
permit me to go and to return in peace and tranquility,
in your infinite love and mercy.

Accompany me with your loving security
and direct my footsteps
with the steady love of your heart,
keeping me always close to you, Lord.

May I see clearly the obstacles
of my journey,
and may I keep safe from affliction and despair,
thanks to your blessing and care.

Blessed are you, O Eternal God;
you have protected me in such a way
that by the light of your presence
I shall always find new roads
and fulfilling answers to my yearnings. Amen.

My holy Angel Guardian, ask the Lord to bless the journey which I undertake, that it may profit the health of my soul and body; that I may reach its end, and that, returning safe and sound, I may find my family in good health. Do thou guard, guide and preserve us. Amen.

O Lord Jesus Christ our God, the true and living way, be thou. O Master, my companion, guide and guardian during my journey; deliver and protect me from all danger, misfortune and temptation; that being so defended by Thy divine power, I may have a peaceful and successful journey and arrive safely at my destination. For in Thee I put my trust and hope, and to Thee, together with thy Eternal Father, and the All-Holy Spirit, I ascribe all praise, honor and glory: now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
