When eventide approaches
and light of day grows dim
I tiptoe to my sleeping child,
to gaze in awe of him.

Curly head and dimpled cheek
so dear, in sweet repose.
Soft sounds of slumber emanate,
melodious dreaming, I suppose.

No word can speak, nor tongue may tell,
the love that swells my soul,
as moonbeams shine on his dear face
his virtues to extol.

How grateful and how blessed am I
to simply stop and stare,
and I, in tender vigilence
intone a mother’s prayer.

Bless my special little child,
and keep him safe from harm,
let other’s love him, as I do
protect him from life’s storm.

Lord, I just want to say thank you,
Because this morning I woke up.
Because this morning my home was still standing,
Because this morning I am not crying,
Because my family does not need to be buried or to be pulled out from underneath a pile of concrete,
Because this morning I was able to drink a glass of water,
Because this morning I was able to take a shower,
Because this morning I was able to go to work,
Because this morning I was not planning a funeral.

But most of all I thank you this morning because I still have life and a voice to cry out for the people of Japan.
Lord I cry out to you, the One that makes the impossible possible,
The One that turns darkness in to light,
I cry out that You give those family strength,

That You give them peace that surpasses all understanding,
That You may open the streets so that help can come,
That You may provide doctors, nurses, food, water, medicine and all that they need in a blink of an eye.

For all those that have lost family members, give them peace, give them hope, give them courage to continue to go on!
Protect the children and shield them with your power.
I pray all this in the name of Jesus… AMEN.

Oh, My Jesus, redeeming Divine Mercy of the human race, look down upon us who prostrate humbly before your presence. We are yours, and yours we wish to be; but to be more surely united with you.

Behold each one of us who freely consecrates himself/herself today to your most Sacred Heart, from which blood and water gushed forth as a fountain of everlasting mercy for us. Many indeed have never known you; many too, despising your precepts, rejected you. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them all to your Divine Mercy.

Be King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken you, but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned you; grant that they may quickly return to their Father’s House, lest they die of wretchedness and hunger.

Be king of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps apart, and call them back to the harbour of truth and unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one flock and one Shepherd.

Grant, O Lord, to your people assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give peace and tranquillity to all nations, and make the earth resound from North Pole to South Pole with one cry: Praise to the Divine Mercy that wrought our salvation; To it be glory and honour for ever. Amen.
